Used to order from here years ago. From Dumont mostly. Want to order from River vale. Now you can't call and speak to anyone. I had a question but no option to speak to anyone. Super annoying. You have to order through food delivery services. Or online but if you try to go to their website, it doesn't work. No website exists. Too much trouble now it's almost impossible for me! Oh well No thank you. I like to just call, order and pickup using cash.

Shredded Beef Meal that consists of shredded beef, yellow rice, black beans, and two plantains

Came here for dinner a couple weeks ago and this little restaurant is definitely worth checking out. It was a bit of a wait for our food, they do not have a large staff and they stayed continuously busy the entire time we were there. Not a complaint by any means, just a heads up for anyone interested in coming here. I had a jalapeño chicken empanada, that was very good, the outside texture was different from what I'm used to, a little crispier than other empanadas. One member of my party had the plain chicken empanada that she said was also very good. Even though it was dinner time, I was able to get a lunch portion of the shredded beef meal, which for the price was really great. The shredded beef was phenomenal and I loved the rice and beans that accompanied it as well. The plantains were just all right, they were a little too hard for my taste. The inside of the restaurant does need a few updates, it's a very small eating area and it's definitely an older building. I also wish they had a better/bigger selection of beverages. Don't get me wrong, I love Jarritos, but it would have been nice to just have a glass of ice water, which is unfortunately not an option at this establishment. In the end, the food is great, the staff was hard-working, and that what's most important when looking for a new place to eat.

    PORK SKINS!! AMAZING!!

I know the pre-ordering process is a bit unconventional but I just can't get past how delicious this place is....and in River Vale of all places. Definitely not the place I thought would have amazing fried pork. Guys, usually when you get chicharron or fried pork chunks it's either got crunchy skin but the entire thing is dry/hard like a cracker OR it's soggy and the skin is rubbery/chewy. I mean I like pork bubble gum as much as the next guy but come on, who's passing up crunchy pork skin with juicy tender meat? The garlicky/citrus dipping sauce that it comes with is so good. Let's not forget the friend pork skins either. For 1.99 you really just can't go wrong. I haven't tried the Cuban sandwich yet but I'll be back... probably twice a day.

Ordered delivery from here and was overall very satisfied with the food. Delivery took longer than expected, but the food was well packed and still warm when it arrived. Most of what we ordered were very good. Our favorites were the beef empanadas, chicken stew with potatoes, and grilled pork chops. Next time we're in the mood for Cuban food, we will definitely order from here again.

I'm not a great fan of this place. I ordered twice so far and the food wasn't that great. Even my dad didn't like it.

Great authentic, Cuban food. Very much like food you would get in NYC, without the high prices. It's a must-try!

To be fair, all she orders is the chicken salad sandwich and she has order nothing else. Today, that changed as we ordered the Apple Cranberry Crisp à la mode along with her Chicken Salad sandwich and that dessert was delicious! It wasn't too sweet and it had me thinking "what kind of apples do they use for this?" It even got reactions from everyone who dined nearby us in the restaurant. So the ambiance was very friendly as while it appeared like they were regulars, they were not because they've never seen the Apple Cranberry Crisp in person. We took our four month old infant and the place was accommodating to that as well. The decor was very traditional but very clean, like you were in the dining room of the golden age of your grandma's house (I hope that makes sense like it does for me). Anyway, I had the NJ Sloppy Joe and that was also delicious - especially with the sweet potato salad that came with it. I also had the cappuccino and the affogato because I had no coffee yet by this point of the day and I had to double down on my espresso intake lol. The Rolling Pin looks like it's been around for the past 75 years and I hope it sticks around for ever. Please give this place a try if you're nearby looking for lunch. You won't forget it!
