I'm not a great fan of this place. I ordered twice so far and the food wasn't that great. Even my dad didn't like it.

So I just want to start off by saying I have never taken the time to write a review about a place but there is no way I could not say something about this place. I am fairly new here in New Jersey and I noticed there weren't a lot of Spanish restaurants here in Bergen County but this place right here is AMAZING This restaurant is absolutely delicious, the employees are very welcoming, and the portions are HUGE!! I am beyond happy I have had the privilege to find this hidden gem so there is no way I can keep my comments to myself, this place makes me feel at home and I just would like to thank them and show my appreciation. Sad to have to write this review. Overall the food tasted good. Sadly my child had a burrito and found several pieces of hard plastic in it and almost choked on one. The largest one we found was about half an inch. He believes he swallowed a smaller one before realizing and pulling out the plastic pieces from his mouth. I tried to call the restaurant to report it and could not get through. The automated voice service did not allow an option to speak to the restaurant. I tried the line for status if an existing order and the mailbox was full. I tried calling them several days in a row with no luck and no way to even leave a voicemail. I tried their franchise number and was able to leave a message but no call back. Clearly they don't care about customers choking on plastic while eating their burritos or even have a way for you to contact them if there are issues with your order. They also left off some of our sides but that is the least of my problems. read more

I grew up eating Cuban food every day. While Cuban Eddie's is decent, it is no way as wonderful as so many have attested. The Piccadillo is so greasy as to be barely edible. The Ropa Vieja is tasteless. Their saving grace are their empanadas (though even they are a bit oily) and platanos maduros. If you want real Cuban food, go to Rumba Cubana. Then compare! read more

Went here for the main reason of trying out their Cuban sandwiches. It was just okay. It seem to miss some ingredients that we are use to tasting inside a Cuban sandwich. Missing mustard but that I could add myself. The empanadas are tasty. The burrito did not taste like a usual steak burrito but maybe that's how Cubans make a burrito. I would definitely go back for the empanadas and Cuban and try all the other great looking food they also have. read more

Now coming back to try their ox tail, it was worth the return. The ox tail is only available on Thursday and it sells fast so at 10:30 AM this morning I called and ask them to save me one dinner sized order. I showes uped at 6:30 PM to pick up and was not disapointed. The ox tail was meaty, no fat and in gravy that went deliciously with the yellow rice and beans. Service was as nice, friendly as the first time. Still way too hot to eat in as they have no air conditioning but I was just picking up so the 2 fans they had running was enough to get me through the minor wait for my order. I also had their rice pudding, it was good but really sweet. You can taste the condensed milk and chunks of rice. Perfect for finsihing my dinner. Ox tail on Thursdays is sad as you can only have one time a week. I will try their other specials and write back. read more

This place is great. Food is delicious and the Cubano sammiches are as authentic as you can get. The empanadas where fresh made, and the staff is super friendly. Great authentic Cuban food and the prices are good. They also have delivery which is a great addition to the standard Chinese, pizza offerings in the area. Highly recommend! read more

Ordered for delivery and have mixed feelings. Empanadas are made fresh and are delicious but came without any sauce. Have gotten better burritos from China-Mex restaurants. Knuckle sandwich came without anything but dry meat on bread, was like choking down sandpaper. Remade the bathroom scene from Dumb & Dumber 20 minutes after eating. First timers overall disappointed. I tried this place after my mom brought some of the leftovers home. Her and her colleagues work at the local hospital and often order from this place. Let me just say, that it amazing. The food is something you wont find easily in North Jersey. This food is incredible, its fresh, and they have very good prices. You cannot beat it. The roast pork is so tender, the empanadas are amazing, the flan is incredible! You can have a lunch here for 10 bucks and be satisfied with the portion and the quality. People are very nice and the menu has so many options. Highly recommend. read more

So far I've had the empanadas, ropa Vieja, roasted chicken, pork, chicken burrito, and Cuban sandwich EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS and you get huge portions (talk about a bang for your buck)! My bestfriend is Cuban so I've eaten a lot of Cuban food made by her family growing up and I can say this place is up there with her YaYa's home cooking! The food is ok but they are soooo cheap with the beans. They give you a container full of rice, and about 6 beans..and then want to charge you if you ask for them on the side. The empanadas are the best thing you can get here. read more

Tried this place for a takeout order and we were pleasantly surprised. We all collectively got a few empanadas of different variety, chicharones, roasted chicken, chorizo, and cuban sandwiches. Everything was awesome. The flavor was a homerun, everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The chicharrones were fried perfectly, and the maduros were a show stealer. For the price of the food the portions were generous, and made for an awesome meal. We will definitely be repeat customers, so happy we found this place! read more

Love their roasted chicken with rice and beans. Very disappointed with online ordering though. Ordered and was told 20 minutes. Got there and waited another half hour! That is a new record for me!! We ordered a tray of pork for Christmas Eve, it was reasonably priced and very high quality and tasty. My Cuban relatives more than approved. We normally order from some "old school" Cuban places in Hudson county and this was considerably better. read more

This has become one of my favorite go-to places. Some of the food is a little heavy, but it's fresh, delicious, and unlike most places around, they are not skimpy with quantity. Their prices are more than fair, and the customer service is good. Sometimes I wish that they offered some sauces to go with the food, but otherwise, very content! read more

My family order 2 vegetable empanadas and few others that were beef. They always label their empanadas so there's no confusion. I saw they labeled a packet as "veg" and bit into it and it was beef (I am vegetarian). We cut open all of the others and none were the vegetable. Love their lunch specials! Where else can you grab a quick, homemade meal for $6 that fills you up and leaves you with enough leftovers for another meal?! The roast pork is incredible; always super tender and flavorful. I've had the pleasure of trying both the red and black beans and they are so good, sometimes I can't choose!! The burritos are massive, you won't need anything else along side, but if your famished, an empanada is the perfect addition!! As a Cuban food newbie, I was blown away by Cuban Eddie's. After being bored by the usual takeout restaurants, Eddie's is an exciting discovery. The white bean soup was a party in my mouth with lots of chunks of smoked ham and potatoes. The small portion was HUGE. The empanadas were very tasty--we tried a bunch of them. The croquettes were yummy. My wife had the Cuban salad (#3) which was loaded with fresh ingredients and a TON of Cuban ham. The only disappointment was my Cuban sandwich. It was sad and tasteless. I ordered their shredded beef lunch special, a small container of chicken soup, 2 apple empanadas, 1 beef and cheese empanada, and 1 ham and cheese empanada. They are solid! The lunch special is a good size, packed with your choice of white or yellow rice, your choice of red or black beans, a nice portion of shredded beef, and two fried sweet plantains. Their chicken noodle soup has thin little noodles, chopped carrots, chopped green peppers, celery, and chicken which is good to the point that it falls apart in your mouth. It's delicious, by far my favorite thing here. The empanadas are also very good, they are average sized, but small compared to the empanada lady. Beware the ham and cheese can be kind of juicy as the ham produces fluids that come out when it's been heated up. The apple empanadas are nice in that they aren't overly sweet or syrupy. read more

I loved their Ropa Vieja and beef empanadas- their Moro (black bean and rice blend) needs some improvement! A bit on the dry side. Definitely appropriate for the more mild palate in this area, as far as authentic Spanish food goes. Will try ordering from here again. read more

First time coming. Not coming back! Tables, hair chairs and silverware are dirty. They're tons of flys flying all through out the restaurant. The plastic utensils looked unkept. I ordered a variety of dishes and they lacked authenticity. It didn't have that mama's kitchen flavor. Not to mention my friends food was cold. Been trying to find my favorite restaurant for a while now, I think I finally found one. On my first trip I got the Cuban Chicken Parm and 2 empanadas, which were very good. Food is great, so authentic. After moving to the burbs from NYC and being completely disappointed with the take out options and lack of Seamless Web presence, this was a great find. The roast pork and Cuban sandwich are our go to dishes. I have to say though, the people working the counter are not the brightest, you really have to spell out what you want and then check to make sure they get it right before you leave. Also, allow some extra time when they are getting slammed with the lunch and dinner rush and call your order in ahead. Nice little neiborohood 'dive'. Pot roast and shredded beef are delicious. Empanadas are a 'bomb'... always get a bunch when I visit. Prices are very reasonable. Small place with only a few chairs but the food is amazing. Im a big cuban sandwich fan and this is one of the best I've ever had. People are friendly and food is hot.
