Great Italian deli! CDS has been around for many years and the service/quality of product we experienced on our first visit indicated why they are a mainstay. The service is great, with even the owner working the counter and making sandwiches. Good selection of deli sandwiches, various salads/antipasto, etc. The frozen section has a nice variety of pastas and entrees. On this visit we grabbed some things for a picnic: Casa Del Sole hoagie-loaded and delicious, beef and cheddar wrap with horseradish, the fresh mozzarella hoagie, and the roasted artichoke salad. Everything was delicious! We sampled a small portion of the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce/gravy was amazing and something I'd go back to purchase. All the sandwiches are made fresh so it will take a few minutes, but worth the wait. We will definitely return! read more

Casa Del Sole. Your run-of-the-mill local sandwich joint. And believe me... I know a thing or two about mills. - 1905, Massachusetts. Textiles called my name. A young buster, 5 years on from the age of five, looking like and acting like colonel custer. I was back room manager by then. Exchanging days of sunlight for hand might. I only knew the clouds. Clouds of dirty dust. Clouds of smoke from neighboring industrial corporations. As well of clouds smoke from the hand rolled cigs I was famed for downtown. I knew wool so well that I could've taught it in school. But school I did not attend. I wove like a weaver and knitted like a knotter. But I let the younger workers do so. Delegation without legislation. The only reason I left the gig was from the fondness my heart grew for a more than ordinate subordinate. A Romeo and Juliet situation. I was 10 she was 6. But a mature 6. Or so I told myself. I barked at her esteemed colleagues to impress you but all it did was leave an impression. An impression of me being a haunting splinter of a man. A manchild, they called me... in none of the good ways. But they didn't know what I knew. What I saw. What id been through. That was my fourth crew since I had begun. The death tolls from the snapping of brittle belt bands took down double digit of my previous staffs. And they were next. I couldn't be around for her inevitable death. And I was making a nickel a day to keep my potty mouth filled with soap, and to learn to cope. And therefore I knew I had to disappear. I skipped on my blistered toes onto the nearest rail train. I stayed aboard through multiple train robberies and survived until the line ended. There, I begun to build the remainder of it. But that's a story for another day. Memories. Journeys. Days gone... like the dinosaurs. Sad. - Anyways. Casa Del Sole is a nice wee shop in Berg. Very popular, always seemingly full. Lotta locals. Rarely without regulars. A lot of prepared foods and cheeses and good stuff like that. The mozz is fresh. But the sandwiches are on ok bread and everything else is just ok. It's like a better Jerz Mike's. I've never been blown away. What can I sayyyyy it all starts to make sense. Taking awayyyy everythingggg but I can't deal with that! My life with you means everything. Blowing awayyyy blowing awayyyy. But not blowing me away. And therefore, in my primitive process, disappointing me in some capacity. Fair? Maybe not. But should I have been working in a mill as a manager at age 10? Maybe not either. Solid spot but just way better options around now. Only kicker here is the AMAZING price per capita. Terrific square footage. Price per acre of a Midwest farm, with some of the charm. Seriously one of the best if not the best heros I have ever eaten. I went with the Roman Fiesta which was ham, salami, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and roasted red peppers. I truly believe the key to their sandwich success is their fresh mozzarella made daily so make sure you add it on and thank me later. They have a large variety of special sandwiches on their board or they will make what you want. Sandwiches are stuffed and worth every penny. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Have been ordering sandwiches here for over 20 yrs. About a month ago, ordered Italian heros. The bread was extremely soggy with oil and vinegar. Yesterday ordered sandwiches and again, the roll fell apart with the oil and vinegar. The meat and cheese were delicious but couldn't puck up the sandwich without if falling apart. Terrible customer service. Ordered 3 sandwich platters which are over priced. When I went to pay and use a Casa Del Sol gift card they said the GC was too old and he couldn't even process it. Yes, the GC was given to us as gift in 2019 but what is there to process? You received $50 in 2019 which was unused for purchases and now I am using that prepayment to purchase goods now. You still made off because of the time value of money, the $50 was worth more in 2019 than 2023 so that is my loss. He didn't even try to offer a discount on the final receipt as a good gesture. It is the first and LAST time I will be visiting this place. How rude! read more

Ordered the Chicken Marsala off their catering menu and it was awful. They over breaded the cutlets, fried them and cut the chicken breasts into pieces. The chicken was grisly if that is a word. Between too much breading and the super thick Marsala sauce, it was mush. I had it on a buffet line at a big dinner and no one touched it. I attached a pic of this disaster. This place no doubt makes a great sandwich and I have been here a few times. They do charge more than their competitors so I would think the quality would be better.
