Smells like rat piss. Rat shit everywhere in unit. Items chewed up. You would be better off throwing your stuff away.

I've had 2 units for a year now. Broken elevators, no carts (once in a whole year), and today the A/C is broken. There was one time over a weekend where both elevators were broken and there was no way to get to my units on the second floor because the first floor has a code. They just raised the rate of one of the units from $200 to $250 a month. Percentage wise is a crazy Increase! STAY AWAY! read more

This is for Cubesmart in general, not any certain location. It's in my opinion that we as consumers are being taken advantage of because of our need for storage units leaving us to accept whatever increases your company deems necessary. I've have been with the company for over 2 years and seen my monthly due go up $33, for what? The unit didn't get any bigger. It's nice you painted and added lights, but do we have to be the ones to help recoup your expenditures for the upgrades, plus my property isn't even 24hrs. Then there's the convenience fee we have to pay, unless we pay in store. It's not very convenient when there isn't a person involved in Making the payment. My unit is in Seguin, Tx. read more

No proper instructions on entering or exiting the gates. Once I mentioned this, the next day they had signage. The doors had issues all the time to get into the storage building. No one ever answers the phones, or responds to emails. The tall " store manager" is is extremely rude and condescending. This whole experience was the absolute most stressful. Moving is already stressful enough, truly disappointing. I moved out of my unit and never received a move out notice until two weeks later when I got alerted I was going to be charge for my upcoming month. I just don't understand why. Save yourself the headache and Take your stuff elsewhere. read more

meh. We did a truck rental from here last month for an out of state move. It went fine, but nothing great and nothing horrible, hence the three stars. The employees seemed somewhat bored and uninterested but we got the product we reserved online so can't complain. I've never used any of the storage that they do here so can't review that, just the Penske rental. The apartment we were moving from, AMLI, supposedly offers a Penske discount but they'd never heard of it here so we didn't get it. The price was still decent though. I'd recommend getting a truck from them for moves, it should go just fine... just don't expect to be too blown away with customer service. read more

Hubby and I keep our excess stuff here and have been pleased with it. I will say that it is awful during the hot weather as it isn't air conditioned (at least where our unit is). Prices are great unless you get hit with late fees so be sure to pay on time! read more

She is so accommodating and always working hard! [This review is for a Penske truck rental drop-off; it is not about self storage.] I recently rented a truck from Penske and after my move-in was finished I dropped it out at CubeSmart on E. Riverside Drive. It was actually two drop-offs as I had to swing by to drop off the carrier first, then came back to drop off the truck when I had finished unloading. Both times I was assisted by Priscilla Tover and she was great! Very friendly and professional. We had one small problem with a bent pin on the hitch of the car carrier. After trying to bend it back with a pliers so that we could unhook the car carrier -- which didn't work -- she left for a couple minutes, came back with bolt cutters, and then she quickly had the pin off. I definitely appreciated the service Priscilla provided and was very happy with my experience dropping off at this location. read more

I reserved a unit over the internet. As promised on the internet, as soon as that afternoon I got a phone call from a real person asking me to come in at my convenience to sign up for a unit. That next morning I met with Brenda and got my paperwork all done. She was very professional and carefully explained the entire process to me and answered all of my questions. I have rented several storage units in the past and I found this to be the easiest and the least stressful. She took me directly to the unit that I was going to rent, explained all of the rules for driving on the lot, use of the dollies and the gate access procedures. I recommend that anyone in the Austin area that needs a storage unit to come and check out the Riverside Drive location. read more

This facility was MUCH better run when Ubaldo (aka "UB") was running it. Had this transaction gone down smoothly, I'd say 5 stars. The new girl who took over in mid/late December 2014, after UB transferred to manage a new nearby location, left a lot to be desired. I moved into the unit in June 2014. I moved out in January 2015. I gave 12 days notice of my vacating, especially because I was not going to be in town when the billing cycle came up next. Despite giving ample notice, I was still billed $159.00 for a 10x10 unit on 1-27-2015. It took them almost 4 weeks to refund me, which was supposedly coming "via check", but instead was credited to my bank account. How an electronic payment took so long to process I will never know. read more

Got the unit I reserved online. The lady who assisted me was nice. My stuff fits in the 10x10 unit but just barely. The section of the building my unit is it has a pretty bad scent, so I put air freshener a in my unit to attempt to prevent all of my belongings from absorbing the smell. read more

I rented a truck from Penske with the pick up at CubeSmart. Along the way, I needed to adjust some things, then an emergency came up and I had to cancel the reservation. Tara was understanding, smart, efficient, and went above and beyond to be helpful. Thank you Tara!!! read more

I've had my unit broken into twice. There is little to no security here. The gate was broken for about a month and anyone could just drive in and do whatever they want. There is a group that just hangs out there at night playing loud music and doing whatever. When I confronted the manager there she said that I store there at my own risk. If you have valuables do store them here. I had the chance to speak to the Regional Manager about this matter. He informed me that they have had three incidents of multiple break ins within the last three weeks. As a result they are adjusting the cameras. There are still no cameras on the units and the cameras they have he says are not very good but they are adjusting them. read more

I work for a professional moving company and after a long wild goose chase ended up here. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened and the lady inside never even acknowledged me or my crew. All we needed to do was pick up a rental penske truck. She did come outside and then proceeded to walk straight past us without any gesture. Not even a head nod or eye contact. If the staff has no respect for its customers I guarantee they have no respect for your items. Beware. I am at a lot of storage units and this was one of the most frustrating experiences read more

Okay so first off I have a storage unit there now. I have had it there for about a year. I have an issue with their policy. My rent was raised, AGAIN, this time without prior knowledge. If having a storage unit is the same as renting an apartment & every 6 months it goes up, then people may as well just switch companies since apparently notifying customers of rent raises isn't part of the deal. I guess it shouldn't be a big deal if customers just leave without notifying the company. All in all it's just bad business & as consumers we have enough other businesses to choose from. I was hoping this wasn't going to be one of them. That's what I get for thinking. I wouldn't reccomend this place to people I care about. Oh & if you want to reach someone, don't bother by phone. If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. Unbeknownst to me, they changed hands and the new operators ended any type of security. I'm less than 1 month, my unit was broken into. The manager called to let us know, but did so after hours so that when we returned the call, we couldn't reach anyone. After frantically trying to get ahold of someone, we did and that person flat out refused to come to, or send anyone to the facility to assist. The first time the the ifs destroyed the locking mechanism, so apparently it was expected that we'd just leave the stuff unsecured until it was convenient for the staff. We finally reached the regional or district manager who came out and gave us a new unit, but was utterly unconcerned that we'd been robbed. The second time (yesterday) the onsite manager called at 5pm. When we were able to reach her at 5:30p, she refused to come down and remove the new lock they had placed on the unit. We went to the unit anyway to see if we could figure out what happened. Lucky for us, she just happened to arrive with another covers on whose unit had also been robbed so we were able to get into the unit. Again, all levels of management are completely unconcerned and even stated that this is the THIRD incident of units being broken into in THREE weeks!!! Why are they not doing anything to secure the belongings of the customers? Because they don't care one iota. The gate us continually just left wide open. The place, its staff and the management, and as far as I am concerned, this company is horrific! DO NOT STORE your stuff at CUBESMART, you WILL get robbed and they just don't care, or do anything to resolve the issues. read more
