Can't recommend. Period. Continue to raise rates and for what? Nothing can be seen as far as improvements. Send assertive letters stating to come in for an "inspection" with no justification WHY. Not even getting an answer from calling because I had to cancel a trip to get there in the allotted time for there stupid inspection. Then I get hit with yep, you guessed it - another damn rate increase!!! Constantly raising rates. Unresponsive to customer inquiries. Nope - can't recommend them! read more

Customer for two years and have had my rate raised to almost double what my initial rate was. No new benefits or upgrades, just double the money. I called to inquire about any promotions, or discounts since they are currently listing my unit for 50% of my current rate. Was told my only option was to make a new reservation and move out of my current unit into an identical one. Was told "we're like Comcast and promotional rates are only for new customers, your rate will go up from there." Just like Comcast, terrible customer service. Will be shopping around for other storage units. Two stars because the people that helped when I first moved in were great and made the process easy. Hopefully it will be just as easy to move out. read more

I'm a disabled senior citizen who had to leave some things behind when I sold my Orient Heights home after the passing of my hubby & moved back to my home state of Indiana. When it became clear that I would likely never be able to return, I had to let go of those belongings. Charles, Daniel & Casey at the Route 1-A CubeSmart were a great help over the years & especially in securing an affordable clear-out specialist. By far, the shadiest business practices I have ever encountered. Stay far away, run to Self-Storage. This location's associates lied to our face about pricing. Getting phone support is like climbing a mountain that just kicks you back down again. We were trying to pay our bill with the same credit card used the first month, but learned that would not be allowed unless I permitted the cardholder (my girlfriend) to do so at their office in person. Same card, already paid with it, and her signature on the contract. Also, it is her stuff in storage. I just made the initial reservation online. These mosquitos will suck you dry. UPDATE I forwarded Dan's instructions to email support to my girlfriend. She wrote a thorough, detailed email, asking for clarification and seeking assistance. She received only a terse reply, asking to confirm the name on the account. That's it. (She provided the account number and storage unit number in her email) Let's reiterate the facts: -Her signature is on the contract. -Her driver license information is on the contract. -Her mailing and billing addresses are on the contract. -She paid the first month's bill at the office with her credit card. -Her stuff is in the storage unit. I only scheduled a time online to hold a storage unit. I did not have to sign a contract to do that. I did not have to pay anything to do that. And, I am allowed to do whatever I want to the account. Yet, she gets turned away when she calls having provided the storage unit number, account number, and credit card paying to use it. The fact that my girlfriend had to call me to ask to call CubeSmart and give them my permission to allow her to handle the account's balance comes off as sexist, but also as a striking display of business ineptitude when all we are attempting to do is pay you far more than you deserve. UPDATE: I received a voicemail left by someone named Stephanie who identified herself as from corporate, calling to bring a resolution to the situation. She provided no way for me to call or email her back. I tried to call back the unknown number she used, but failed since it had no caller ID. read more

Apparently this CubeSmart is being used to store stolen property. I received a form letter from them telling me, with one day's notice, that an inspection of my unit was required by Boston Police and that if I did not respond to the letter they would break my lock. They will allow me to be present during the inspection. And I was just over there last week - I think they've given up on doing any cleaning at all. Moving out as soon as possible. NOT recommended. read more

Awful management and even worse record keeping. This location continues to overcharge me even after having numerous discussions with their managers. By the way, the manager position is a revolving door so the excuse is, "I was not present to witness the conversation." Just one bogus excuse after another. If you need storage go someplace else. read more

@40% increase- two times in less then two years. I was met with arrogance and lies from the office when I confronted them about the increases. usually 1 of 3 garage doors work at a time making things extremely inconvenient! Actively searching elsewher! read more

The customer service here was top notch. We only needed one month of storage but the sign up process was easy and the attendant worked to make sure we had the lowest price for our needs. When cleaning out our unit Hector was unsure when the charge would occur for the following month (we were calling a few days in advance). He was great and didn't want to give us any misinformation so he reached out to a store manager (he was fairly new) who contacted us to make sure we would be out prior to being charged for an additional month. The manager was great and Hector also ended up staying about 30 minutes late while helping another customer and then offered to finalize our move out then -- even after office hours -- to make sure we had everything settled! Which was so awesome of him. Highly recommend for storage, everyone was very nice and there were no surprises! read more

I was a customer of this facility and my items were stolen. Even with cameras they saw nothing and then refused to cooperate with the authorities. The manager Wes Sullivan wouldn't even give me a copy of the incident report for fear of litigation. Very unprofessional and unsafe environment. The district manger refused to give me her direct phone line when emailed her to avoid taking responsibility. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

The people we've met, Luis, Joe, and Casey have been helpful and good to work with. They even put up with our bickering over what size storage unit to get. The place seems clean, and the staff seems to care that it stays that way. Not thrilled about paying for storage, but, if you have to, I'd suggest this facility. read more
