Same experience as others. After 18 months paying 33% more. Went into the store to get rate lowered and they said they would ask corporate. A month goes by and nothing. Then I called and they said they would follow up. No follow up after another month. Called again and they said there was no record of my request and that if I want to leave- leave. read more

Don't fall in for special rate, I signed up for $225 a month after 2 years they have increased it to $513 a month, looks like they increase every 3 month, in the Sumer it's barely cool inside the units, I definitely do not recommend this place. read more

Wow. I am shocked at the price gauging at this location. For four months I rented here at $105 monthly then after my first few months it went up significantly to $179! Such a waste of time trying to move all my items back and forth. I asked them to keep my same rate and told me the regional manager Bryan needed to call me. He did call after over a week of phone tag and he didn't even help $1. He wasn't helpful to a customer like myself they referred MANY new customers to this location and have two units within this property. The staff on premise is very nice but the way they use the current cube smart renters and price gauge is unacceptable! I even showed them a photo of the prices online for the same size unit and it showed only a few dollar increase and they refused to match it. I wouldn't rent here unless you're going to be here short term. Anything more than the original 4 month agreement you'll get a huge bill in the mail for renting your storage unit. read more

Every time I walk in here, it's warm, if not hot. Why are we paying for air conditioned units (especially with the rent increases that keep happening) if the A/C is never adequate? I don't know what temperature they keep it at but it's very, very stuffy in there. I'm sure everyone is paying what we're paying because our things need to be at a decent temp--otherwise we'd get great rates on outdoor units literally anywhere in the city. Also, the sliding door that is supposed to be keypad accessed is always either opening on its own or it's somehow out of order so it's stuck open. I've never felt unsafe here, but in terms of security that's not ideal since you're supposed to enter with your access code. I've never had issues with the gates, however. One pro: They keep the place very clean. I wish they would resolve this A/C problem. I'm gonna bring my digital thermometer next time and see exactly what temperature they keep the building at. read more

My problem begin at The cubesmart managed property on strack rd. Houston Tx. I have been a long time customer of cubesmart in which I assumed we had a relationship but I was wrong. I am an auction buyer. This is a company that I have bought and brought back units to save the company from lawsuit because they were wrongfully sold several times yet they tell me they follow policy. A couple of days ago I bought a unit which I will upload all pictures where it was staged or set up( all units are bought online by pic). So in the pictures of this 25x38 shows nothing but boxes purposely stacked so the contents behind could not be seen. Upon coming to the facility after purchase we opened unit. Also I must mention I've done this for 29 years. I noticed up close in person the boxes looked weird so I pushed them to find out they were all empty and trash. Looking behind the boxes was 38ft of trash. Upon going further going in I find a door with the address to the storage facility, move in special signs and stacks of old storage boxes. Immediately I knew this was a set up unit. First thing, a customer would not have the front door to the storage facility, secondly they would not have huge move in special signs and they definitely wouldn't have stacks of old moving boxes. There was even 30 gallon barrels of old oil in the back at least 6. What customer pays $500 a month for this? The manager even agreed it was trash and emailed dm and she went on this rant that they dont set up units and they don't go past the threshold. So why 30 minutes later she says she rented the unit to the tenant that way and she knew what was in back of unit. So company policy permits customers to rent units with company trash in them? Interesting! So the district manager would not talk to me initially and stated there was nothing he can do. So I called 1800 number and he calls me back and says he can't give money back but he won't ban me. Why would i be banned anyway for trash the company put in unit initially weather a customer rented or not?This is the kicker! The unit cost $540 plus $200 to clean out someone elses dumped trash. That's unacceptable! So I called 1800 number again to leave message for dvp and dm calls back again when I specifically said he can't help me. So the dvp is too busy to deal with my level. This forced me to tell the whole truth about cubesmart. What angered me the most is its obvious and I have literally brought units back, customer units with private information to cubesmart after buying because they were not supposed to be sold. At one point I had a district manager offer me a car in exchange for a unit that was not supposed to be sold. But no I didn't say anything because I felt they would take care of me as I took care of them. I have witnesses of it all. The company has a reputation in the auction world of dishonesty but it never happened to me until now. It's not about the money but the principal. The last thing the dm stated was do what you have to do and hear I begin. I want it to be understood that I wasn't rude. I didn't curse anyone. I tried to handle it in a manner in which this wouldn't go public, not an angry black man. Just as I would leave reviews for storage managers that would ask I leave this review for the public to see also with pic. I don't know who did what but company materials have no business being In a tenant unit and a tenant doesn't stack empty boxes across front door 7 ft high. I shouldn't have to bring back customer units that should not have been sold in the first place. Could someone tell me where is this in company policy and also renting units with trash in them is number one priority and when they don't pay just stage them units so we can get the most out of them. Honesty and integrity is fair. It could be an honest mistake but honesty went out the window when we couldn't reason. It's amazing when they're trying to get those customer units back that the district manager would give a cell phone number to make sure the transaction is done properly. But when i'm wronged as a customer it doesn't matter. read more

Bellaire-west university-Houston I moved in to my brand new unit and a week later I find there is a ceiling leak. It is now 6 weeks later and I still can not get an answer as to when it's going to be fixed. I'm still waiting on a call back. I have had to make all of the calls to cube smart being proactive on this. The only thing I've heard back is ... The contractor is on another job.. This is frustrating!!!!! First experience with a storage company before but can honestly say every experience with this company has been extremely positive. Started with a phone call investigating options, ended up purchasing a unit over the phone. Super nice customer service. Experience at the location itself was also stellar. Encountered two employees who were very nice, happy, eager to help and show around the faculty and explained things very well. they were in no hurry, not distracted with other customers or tasks and were just nice, down to earth, easy going folks. The facility was exceptionally clean, organized, lots of different kinds of safety features throughout. All of the COVID safety precautions were being flooded by everyone. So far the experience has been that the company seems to try to exceed expectations. I saw one review that talked about ceiling leaks. Our unit is on the 3rd of four floors so did not see evidence of that but that would probably be unlikely not being on the top floor. It was raining during our unpacking into the unit and the entire third floor as visualized was dry. Bottom line for us: exceptional customer service, good value compared to other companies (we shopped around and other big named brands were a little more), and a well thought out customer centered product.
