I am writing this review as a long term customer who pays on time. Today...Saturday December 23 I received this email.Threatening me. Giving me 24 hours on Saturday to get my certificate. And if I do not do it in 48..I'm locked out. In the mean time, they are closing until Tuesday. Read this and consider doing business elsewhere. Dear iStorage Tenant, I hope this message finds you well. We would like to inform you that the insurance policy on file for your storage unit at 4456 North Brasewood Blvd is currently expired. To ensure continuous coverage, we kindly request you to provide us with a new PDF copy of the declarations page for your insurance within the next 24 hours. If we do not receive this documentation, an automatic insurance application will take place, resulting in an additional $12 premium charge. The coverage limit will be set at $2,000. Furthermore, please be aware that if the updated insurance information is not received within 48 hours, access to your unit and the storage facility gate will be restricted until the necessary documentation is provided. You can submit the required insurance documentation by sending the PDF to 8114@nsabrands.com. Alternatively, you may bring a hard copy to our office. Please note that only PDF submissions can be processed to ensure accurate record-keeping. You might notice they cannot even spell the street they are located on. Very nice very clean. Used our space for overflow after my folks passed and then grown kids needed over flow space. Six and half years and we have finally been able to assimilate our overflow back into the empty nest space. Convenient Courteous Accessible We were on third floor; couldn't been easier to access. Easy to close down. Highly recommend; might have stayed longer but the steady $ increases (from $207 to $270 / month) kept the pressure on to close it out. read more

I had been storing my items at this facility over the past two years. When I first moved in it was still under Proguard (now it's been bought out by iStorage) and was individually owned. Joan, one of the owners, was always at the front desk helpful as ever and super sweet. The facility was very well taken care of, clean, and kept up with. Since being bought out by iStorage this place has gone down hill. There is trash everywhere, the AC was out the other day, and there is never anyone in the office. In fact- one day I came by the office to inquire about switching units and the woman at the desk who struggled to assist me mentioned she was from another location and just covering because the girl working that day went to lunch and never returned. It's an absolute joke. This location charges significantly more than other comparable climate controlled storage facilities in the area and while it was worth it in the past it is most definitely not worth it now. I live in the building next door and would still rather drive 5-10 mins away to another facility than continue giving these people my money. When this facility became corporately owned it essentially turned into a cash machine for iStorage. That means no one in the office most days, no ability to reach an actual human when you need one, and zero upkeep. They would rather put out rat poison (which kills all kinds of other wildlife) and let trash pile up rather than pay someone to keep the place clean and maintain the facility. To top it all off they wouldn't even give me back my measly $20 security deposit after move out because they don't "do that." Honestly, there are better places in the vicinity and with the lack of competitive pricing if you're paying to store your things here you're just getting ripped off. read more

Great deals and affordable prices, easy setup, convenient location. 2nd time using them!

Pros: It's a very clean and well organized facility with nicely air conditioned units. It was also in a somewhat convenient location when the medical center facility was booked. Cons: The facility is owned by a rude couple with no regards to customer service or loyalty. I paid well in advanced for my unit, and the day that I checked out of my unit, I was refused my prorated refund for the days I didn't use. Why? Because it was September 1st and to be able to get refunded, I would've had to check out on August 31st (the last day of the month). I would've been okay with it if she hadn't been so rude. Also the fact that it was less than 24 hours since I would've been able to get my refund of $25, a little leniency would've been appropriate in this situation. In addition, I had to call 10 days in advanced to let them know when I was moving out of the unit and the fact that they didn't notify/remind me that I should turn in the keys on the 31st made me think they did it on purpose. I won't list all of the encounters I've had with this facility, but I will say that there was definitely more than one instance where they spoke to me in a condescending manner. So even though this is a nice facility, they seem to try and milk you for every penny rather than helping you. If something were to happen to your storage items, I wouldn't be surprised if their response were, "Too bad, now pay up." Update: Please note that the review was written in 2012, and the owner responded two years later in 2014. I never received an email. My review was fair, and I still stand by it. read more

My favorite storage facility!! This is the fourth time we have obtained a storage units at Proguard in Meyerland. They are always so clean, easy to get in and out of. The management is always very friendly and accessible. I will use them again when the need arises. read more

This was my second time getting a storage and it was a very smooth and efficient process. He also given me a better rate than what was quoted online.... the manager explained everything throughly .... they also had carts to roll my things in to were I didn't have a lot of work to do.... so far so good and I will definitely recommend them to someone in need read more

On Tuesday July 14 had an encounter with a horribly rude staffer. Apparently irritated for daring to interrupt her cigarette break by asking how to get out of the gate, she was surly in replying " use the same code as when you came in". When I explained that I followed one of my clients in in order to pick up something from their storage unit, she rudely replied " well maybe you should've followed them out ". It took her all of 30 seconds to move her fat ass over to the keypad to punch the correct code. She'd be better suited as a prison guard in Rosharon. read more

Great place to store your stuff. Super secure, clean and great management.

We moved into the apartment complex next door to the Braeswood Proguard Self Storage. I called Proguard and reserved a 10 x 10 unit for a move on Tuesday. But, as a result of the flooding our move got postponed until Friday. When I spoke to Proguard, they told me that they could not hold my reservation that long (despite the fact that another Proguard location was willing to hold my reservation for thirty days) and revoked my reservation. So, I went to a Public Storage location that was 15 minutes away (but 5 minutes from my office). The Public Storage facility is cleaner, management is more polite, the facility is more secure and I saved $20 a month. The really dumb thing is that we need a unit for a year or more and the Proguard location gave up a year of guaranteed rent. Thanks Proguard! read more
