Sheer incompetence as manifest in recurring failing to open the facility consistent with its promise: 8:00 and too frequently, the office - during the times the gates had been opened granting general access to the units, the office was locked, unavailable to access the bathroom and transact business: i.e., pay my bill - since paying online incurs a "CONVENIENCE FEE?". There was recently - an example where I failed to secure my unit, leaving my lock improperly closed. Their team noticed my mistake - yet, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to either properly attach the lock, call me to notify me or send me an email to alert me - leaving my unit effectively open, unlocked for at least two consecutive days. read more

This place has terrible customer service and falsely advertises the unit sizes. They are impossible to get a hold of by email and because they know you are trapped with them they do not even try to address your issue unless you show up in person. 1. Customer service - cubesmart will add an insurance charge to your bill unless you provide proof of renters or owners insurance. I provided proof of this via email while at the office in person and received verbal confirmation from the clerk that they received it and that they will adjust my bill. However this never happened and they never respond to the email. I am again here in person to get this sorted. I did get this sorted but it should not have required so much work. 2. False advertising - I got a unit that they advertised as 10x10x10. The actual floor space was 8x8 when I measured, which is 35% less than what was advertised. I have complained numerous times and have been ignored. They only say to email the store which they continuously ignore. In short, they know that you are trapped once your stuff is here and they know they have your stuff as hostage. I plan on trying to vacate this unit as soon as possible and I would strongly recommend anyone to 1) double check the size before starting a contract. 2) sorting any issue - insist that everything is sorted while you are there. Insist that you get everything in writing while you are there so you don't waste your time. 3) or even better never use them. read more

You will learn a whole new meaning of "shitty service" if you make the mistake of storing something here. They increase the rents every 6 months, they lock down the place after 7 PM which is incredibly inconvenient, and the staff is rarely available. I once had to get a new lock, made the long trip here, then saw a sign on the door saying the manager was on break and would be back at 4:30. I waited til 5 and he never showed. Other staff is mind-bogglingly rude with long wait times for any minor service. I am moving out today and just glad that this unit is no longer my problem. read more

a former tenant skipped town with 8 months of back rent that i will never see and to top it off she left some personal stuff in the apt and its in my right to throw it in the trash but i decided to store it inside a space at cubesmart self storage for 3 months and after that they can do whatever they wont with it. the storage manager was very helpful finding a small storage space that would fit all the junk without wasting unnecessary space or cost and i explained the situation and he was understanding about my 3 months and if the former tenant does not show up then its bye bye stuff. place is clean and its easy access to storage space .rates are reasonable and good safe place to store your stuff or other folks stuff. now its up to the former tenant as i did my job and the storage place is ready for her to pick up her stuff and hit the road. read more

I rented a storage unit for 3-4 years. I rarely went to the unit during this time period. I missed a monthly payment once, but I paid it when I remembered. When I went to move my belongings into a new apartment, I found a new lock on my unit and some of my belongings were stolen. I will never use or recommend Cubesmart. read more

Cubesmart's customer service was great over the phone, they kindly answered my questions and walked me through the steps. However, the staff on site was the total opposite, she only asked for my name and told me my truck has arrived, and did not provide any further assistance. I was moving my boxes while trying to navigate through the whole storage by myself. I understand that it's a self storage, but the staff there could be a little more friendlier and give me more instructions, such as where to locate the storage unit, etc. I was not being told by any of that. The storage itself is different from what I assumed , since I planned the size and numbers of my boxes with the dimensions provided, but the actual space has irregular cuts of a square so that messed up my plan, but luckily I was able to make adjustment to fit all my boxes in there, otherwise it would be a total disaster without any other help onsite. I would suggest Cubesmart to provide the map of the storage on their website as visual-aids. Lastly, as someone who chose the bottom shelf storage, I am concerned for the safety of the movers who are using top and middle shelf, since I did not spot any ladders or tools to help them get stuff on there. Even with ladders being used, it still seemed dangerous and I would not recommend it. read more

Brand spanking new facilities, and they keep it as clean and fresh as a baby's bottom. No..really! At any given moment can be seen spraying a fresh spray and vacuuming the pristine carpeted floors. Turns out, this is their newest location and it has only been around a little less than a year. Customer service is top notch. I was there with my friend and could see how friendly and helpful they were to the both of us. We were offered complimentary water bottles and I could see all these customer service awards everywhere. A storage unit facility is typically not a welcoming place you want to have to be at for more than a few moments, but they have a super clean bathroom, sofas and tables in the lobby and ample parking. If this location was convenient for me, I would totally get a unit. They are shaking up the storage unit game! read more

The facility is clean and the folks are nice. But beware of advertised size as they falsely advertise their space. We arrived with our truck being assured that the space was 14' wide (necessary for our large paintings) and the space was about 10 inches narrower. The employees nicely walked us to several other spaces on the premises with similar dimensions, and all measured significantly smaller than advertised and/or had structural features within the space that made the space smaller or impossible to use. We ended up finding a space that barely worked and couldn't hold the stuff we measured to hold. Really upsetting considering the cost and energy involved in moving (couldn't really just move to another vendor) as well as the risk of damage to your property every time you move it. To add insult to injury they jacked up the price by 25% after 6 months and another 25% after the next 6 months. Advice: measure the space if it matters to you, be prepared for frequent price hikes. Grrrrrr. read more

Pros: Very clean facility and very easy to move in and out of. Courteous staff, great parking. Con: Random rate Hike. The initial rate was very reasonable when I moved in on September 1, 2015. However, I just received notification that the rate will be increased by $20.00 on February 29th--only 4 months later. And so the storage facility rate creep begins; the reason I had to move out of my previous storage facility. read more

Clean facility. Communication from the staff was insufficient . Was not told that I needed to bring a copy of my home owners insurance. Therefore, I was charged $12 for the month to insure my belongings for no reason. They also never told me to bring in $100 cash for use of there van to transfer my stuff from one facility to theirs. They said if I didn't have the cash, I couldn't use the van. Considering I planed my whole day around this move, this could have been a disaster. The girl at the desk kept apologizing for these omissions. They really need to work on improving their communications Their carts are on the small side and none of them have a bar to hang clothing on. This is a must for any storage facility. read more

Great experience at this facility! Needra (I hope that that is the correct spelling) is a very attentive and communicative manager. I had an issue and Needra immediately rectified the issue. On my move in day I encountered Sara who was visiting this location from another store and Victor who showed me and my partner around. It was a complete 180 from the day before and they were both so accommodating and helpful. I left knowing that I was cared for and secure in my decision. These two people are fantastic ambassadors for the brand. read more

Great Price, Perfect Location, Lazy Customer Service My title says sums it up. After doing research & comparing other storage centers in the area, Cubesmart offers the best prices in an extremely convenient area. Great parking access. accessibility and always clean facility. However, there are a few things that have rubbed me the wrong way and pushed me to consider going with other companies in the future for my storage needs: -When I sliced my finger on my unit's latch that got stuck and went into the office to ask for a band aid (it was bleeding pretty badly), the associate looked at me like I was overreacting and acted like it would be a huge inconvenience for him to get up and look for a first aid kit. He suggested that I rinse it off in the restroom sink (where there were no paper towels, btw). I don't tend to carry around napkins, tissues or anything that I can clean a wound with when I'm moving into a storage unit. -There are NO trash cans either in the parking area or anywhere near the storage units. This became an inconvenience several times -I was quoted by an associate that their disc locks sell for $20 while the storage facility across the street sells them for $14 including tax. -When using Cubesmart's cargo van for "free" I was not made aware that I needed to fill the gas tank all the way even if I didn't go that far. The associate working that day refused to give me a portion of my $100 cash deposit so I could tip my moving helpers until I went to fill the gas tank and relinquished the keys. The movers had another booking in Jersey and were already running late. I didn't have time to run to an ATM so I ended up not being able to tip them at all. -Another associate tried to help me close my unit when a box was too close to the threshold. He ended up jamming it and preventing me from accessing it for two days until I could get someone to help. -One day I needed to use the restroom at 6:45pm when the office is not supposed to close until 7pm. The associate had already locked the door, turned off the lights and was counting the money from the register. He let me in but only to wash my hands since the restroom had already been cleaned. -As compared with the unit across the street, they do not sell any kind of drinks and/or sustenance in the office lobby. To me this is unwelcoming. Most people forget to pack these kinds of things when doing an all day move and don't tend to have time to run out to get them. In my opinion, it is the responsibility of the facility to take care of their customers and provide these things that would be extremely helpful read more

I was surprised when Calila called me today to let me know that I forgot to pay my bill and to please do it right away to avoid a late fee. I definitely recommend CubeSmart and the LIC location. Never go there! They will rase your rate twice a year by 10% . Humberto the manager gave me a price on an evening and next morning that I moved in the price was up 5$. Then after 4 months they raised my rate by 10% and him and the GM Nedra told me that tis usually happens twice a year! 20% increase per year! This is NY that even residential rents go up by 3% per year! Wake up!!! read more

My unit was recently burglarized. The entire story of how it was done does not make any sense. This was definitely an inside job. I'm super upset and the District manager Patrick had an unprofessional attitude towards me. The burglar climbed from the top of my unit and cut the wires to get in. They took a lot of stuff. There's no cameras around either. I definitely would not trust anyone here at this northern location so consider moving your stuff to another company. This place has bad people working here. read more

With the exception of a misunderstanding early in my rental of the locker (quickly elevated and resolved by CubeSmart management) my experience has been great. The facility is clean, the music being broadcast helps makes the visit more comfortable. When I needed to switch to a smaller locker, the CubeSmart staff gave me a locker just steps away from the old locker. So the move was super simple. They even offered me bottled water. It would be terrific if the facility stayed open just an hour or two later on the weekends. But otherwise, a great service. read more
