They will tell you that the company doesn't adjust rents on a regular basis. This is a lie. You will pay a market rate on your rental unit that WILL change. You may pay less in the future than your original contract, but in my case I ended up paying about 45% more per month compared to my move-in rate. The move-in rate for me was app. $245 and within 3 months, I was at about $350+. The 'management' can do nothing as this is 'corporate.' I would not have used this facility if it was clear to me that I would have a market rate and not a fixed rate. And, even if they can prove I was aware of such thing, an increase of $100/month wasn't discussed nor indicated as possible. Most storage facilities provide a fixed rental rate. In this case, if you use this facility and assume true of more Extra Space facilities, you must be inquire about fixed vs. floating / market rental rates. Be sure you understand this part. Once you are fully moved in, they have you - it's much harder to negotiate or leave at that point. So, be warned about a too good to be true entry rate only to be 'shocked' at a 30-50% rental rate increase within a few months. To my shame, I had overheard a customer during my move-in discussing an increase in rent for his storage unit but discounted it as a fluke as John, a manager, dismissed it as rare or something that would be corrected. Essentially, this is a horrible business practice and really, Extra Space needs to cease this model (or be forever publicly shamed for misrepresentation). The facility itself has no ground level access (despite what anyone says), which is okay. You must use the elevator (2x) to get to the storage floors. The overall facility is solid, clean, and modern. The shock of pricing changes and hope that it drops again (reduction) in your favor is not helpful to building customer loyalty. In the future, I'd likely pay more for a fixed rental rate at a competitor to avoid this risk of an unknown price increase. My story is 100% true, contract in 2023. Also, after a few months at a the $350+, I'm now at $326. Still, this is poor business - I have no idea if I'll be over $400 next month on the whims of 'corporate'. Fair warning.

Who's heard of an energy surcharge? And why do I have to pay it? Who knows. Insurance - they charge an extra $12 insurance for "my protection" and will only take it off when I send my renters / house insurance. Why does it matter? If I don't have insurance I lost my stuff. If I have insurance and something happens, my insurance company will still handle the insurance, whether or not I showed you a copy of my insurance. My insurance on my personal items should not matter. It's just another way for them to charge extra fees and make it difficult for you to remove fees. If there's a way for them to rip you off, they will.

Moving is such a ridiculously stressful pain in the...ah...neck, but after my first phone call with Tom Gleason, I knew I chose the right company. I was all over the place with the dates I needed for drop off, for moving... but Tom worked with me and even threw in some humor that helped me maintain sanity throughout the process. He didn't run from my craziness, he accommodated my craziness. I'd like to think he may have actually even liked my craziness. Maybe that's too presumptuous of me. Anyway, we need more Toms around. The 20' unit we rented was perfect. The driveway drop off locations were perfect. I spoke with 2 of the drivers on the phone and met one for the final pickup just now (at 7:15am. Nice! When Tom says he'll have it picked up first thing ... he ain't kiddin!). Everyone I spoke with or met is super nice & friendly. Makes a difference when you're having to deal with all the stresses of moving. Oh. The pod itself! Probably shouldn't leave that out of the review. The pod was great too. Tons of rain (I'm talkin torrential downpours) while we had it and not a drop inside the thing. Use this company. Excellent customer service, great product & reasonable prices. A trifecta. Or a hat trick - if you're into hockey. ;)

Tom was amazing and had one delivered to me the same day being last minute decision. I really like the idea of having the storage bins on my yard.. prices are awesome. Customer service is great. My son took care of all the reservations and it was easy to get in and out. They would have gotten 5 stars if not for the unwelcoming attendant who assisted us when we were returning the vehicle. But overall the experience was pretty much easy to get in and out.

I ended up needing a storage unit at the end because the storage unit I rented (from a competitor) was a whole scam and was demolished. So Tyrell & Myra saved me again. The truck and storage unit were just what I needed. Truck return was easy. The facility is spotless and feels open thanks to the windows around the perimeter. The bathroom is huge and spotless (first time I've ever seen a clean U-Haul bathroom). Tyrell & Myra were handling calls, doing their duties and working the counter. They're the reason your customers use this location so I hope you treat them like the blessing they are to everyone!

We are very pleased with our experience with Hacienda Storage In Milford, Connecticut…read more When we moved from Milford to Vermont in 2020 it was necessary for us to leave behind some furniture and household goods, so we decided to use Hacienda for storage. The building and units are bright and clean and very well-lighted. The cost of units was reasonable. The staff was helpful and friendly. Especially helpful was Joanne Zarnoch, who gave us great info and guided us in the process of moving goods from storage. Three and a half years from moving in, it was time for moving out. All our goods were in excellent condition, as though time had stood still! We would highly recommend this facility. Vincent and Elizabeth
