I would not recommend Prime Storage in Danbury. While the facility itself is clean, the constant…read morerate increases are unacceptable. My monthly rent seems to go up every three months, making it nearly impossible to budget for long-term storage. It feels like they lure customers in with one price, only to keep raising it once you've moved in. To make matters worse, they refused to accept my current insurance policy, even though it provided adequate coverage, and instead pushed me to purchase their insurance. It felt more like a sales tactic than a customer-focused policy. If you're looking for a storage facility with transparent pricing and reasonable policies, I would look elsewhere. Frequent rent increases and pressure to buy additional services make this a frustrating place to do business.

Moving is such a ridiculously stressful pain in the...ah...neck, but after my first phone call with Tom Gleason, I knew I chose the right company. I was all over the place with the dates I needed for drop off, for moving... but Tom worked with me and even threw in some humor that helped me maintain sanity throughout the process. He didn't run from my craziness, he accommodated my craziness. I'd like to think he may have actually even liked my craziness. Maybe that's too presumptuous of me. Anyway, we need more Toms around. The 20' unit we rented was perfect. The driveway drop off locations were perfect. I spoke with 2 of the drivers on the phone and met one for the final pickup just now (at 7:15am. Nice! When Tom says he'll have it picked up first thing ... he ain't kiddin!). Everyone I spoke with or met is super nice & friendly. Makes a difference when you're having to deal with all the stresses of moving. Oh. The pod itself! Probably shouldn't leave that out of the review. The pod was great too. Tons of rain (I'm talkin torrential downpours) while we had it and not a drop inside the thing. Use this company. Excellent customer service, great product & reasonable prices. A trifecta. Or a hat trick - if you're into hockey. ;)

Tom was amazing and had one delivered to me the same day being last minute decision. I really like the idea of having the storage bins on my yard.. prices are awesome. Customer service is great. But to top it off, I had 3 bins robbed when they had a massive break in and over 50 units were broken into. Their response, immediately increase my rates while offering no new services or protections. And now, every time I've been there since the robbery the front gate that is supposed to be locked and only accessible with a passcode is just left open all the time. I called to complain that maybe, after a massive robbery, they should at least close the front door. They did not. Horrible business. Go elsewhere.

The first of which I agreed to but felt I might need the storage space for other items. After our conversation, he left CLOSING and LOCKING the truck exit. Which I discovered one following the exit signs. He essentially chatted with me pleasantly and then created a situation in which I needed to execute a k turn and exit through a very narrow entrance. Long story short this con man filed a claim against me for property damage. The facility is clean and new but frankly there are better facilities, competitively priced, where there is maneuvering room for trucks. And where the owners aren't two faced cowards.
