We started at a very reasonable rate about 1 year ago; which was quickly increased by hundreds of dollars. They lure you in with a low rate and then issue increases every 6 months or less. We had to hire a moving company to move all of our items to another reputable facility with proper lighting and great customer service. To make matters worse. I needed to dispose of two bags of paper and a small bookcase. I located the trash bins and the gates were "wide open" upon my arrival. I placed the bags in the dumpster and left the small bookcase outside the dumpster as it was in "good condition". Imagine my surprise when we received a very unpleasant phone call, accusing us of leaving the trash gate open and we were labeled as "dumping" and assessed a $75.00 dumping fee. These folks are hungry for money and will do anything for it. STAY AWAY!!! Choose another facility. It's not worth the headache when there are many other options.

Gave a credit card for what I thought was the Down payment and holding of my unit and so I head out for NC and my day with Don and Tina, I walk in and give them my info and they tell me the price has gone up. I Was Livid, Bait and Switch is what I said, Took my money for one thing and you do not have it, On and On I went, Stress of Move had worked it's way out and what did Don and tima Do after 5 mins of me ranting? Those wonderful people smiled at me and said it would be ok and let me know the people I talked to were att he U HAUL Call Center, as when they (Don & Tima) are out helping customers the main number reverts to CSR's not in the office. Due to that fact and the CSR's only have a general understanding of U-Haul Facilities in general they took my CC and Did not charge, Referred me to a unit I did not need and to make a long story short did not know what they were doing. Now with my moving truck in the parking lot , Don and Tina took handle of my situation and fixed everythuing a provided me a with a unit that fit my stuff perfectly for consideraly less than the $00+ unit the main U-Haul had put me with. They raised the price but can't maintain the facility. You can never get anyone on the phone unless you owe them money. People are always complaining about the lack of carts. The entry is disgusting. My things were put up for auction due to lack of payment and they changed the locks (understandably). Once the balance was paid and I went to move my things I realized the locks had been changed I was never given a new set of keys and when I called them about it and left several messages I never received a return call. I traveled over 500 miles to get my things was told someone wouldn't be able to meet me until the next day after having called for 3 days (to leave a message with the property manager) I ended up having to pay a locksmith out of pocket and realized someone had been watching me move on the cameras because the sent me a move out receipt when I never confirmed my move out. So you can watch me but you can't come open the door. You don't know what someone's situation is and what they may be putting in storage. Whether it's memories or they had to move from a home they loved unexpectedly or just overflow. I just wish people were more kind and this place lacks basic customer service and I would never EVER put anything I cared about here ever again.

My overall experience with AMS was unprofessional and disappointing. When I raised concerns about my broken kitchen table, a crew member dismissed the issue by suggesting it was poorly assembled and would have broken eventually. When I reported wall damage and other issues to both the crew supervisor and Customer Care, I was simply told to file a claim without further assistance or accountability. As a result of this move: My kitchen table is unusable My son's dresser is damaged beyond use My home, which I am currently preparing to sell, now requires repairs due to wall damage I had to hire an additional moving service to move items your crew refused to move due to lack of proper equipment. To repair and replace the damaged items with something of comparable quality it will cost me almost $4,600. They only offered me $830, yes you see that correctly, $830 for all of the items damaged. I would not recommned them to anyone.
