Ive been a customer of cubesmart for about 4 years. I have an inside unit on 2nd floor. When I first rented my unit the elevator worked, that was short lived. Ive complained about it numerous times. Still not fixed. So when I remove items walking down stairs is dangerous. Also I can never reach the manager or anyone when I call. Stop by office and no one there. I see the clock on the door go back still no one there. Very frustrating. read more

The guy Thomas working the front desk is probably one of the rudest people I've ever come across. I would highly recommend anybody that is considering going to this facility to think otherwise. This facility is absolutely infested with rats. We kept our belongings here and when we came to pick them up it was immediately clear the building is overrun. There were rat traps set up outside the building, so there is no way CubeSmart was unaware. As soon as we walked in we saw critters running across the floor. On top of that, when you first pull up to the property you can see people living in the first storage unit on the left -- with personal items and activity clearly showing someone is occupying a storage unit as a residence. That alone shows how poorly this place is managed. There had also been a prior break-in to our unit. CubeSmart did inform us of that and claimed they had "put everything back." That was not true -- when we opened the unit, items were still thrown everywhere from the break-in. Then it got even worse. When we lifted one drawer, a dozen rats shot out and ran in every direction. They had chewed through boxes, tubs and furniture. The entire unit was soaked in urine and covered in droppings. It was a biohazard. We could literally hear rats scurrying in the walls and other units. I have never seen that many rats at once in my life. Our lock had been changed and the old lock was left inside -- meaning CubeSmart went into the unit multiple times after the break-in and still never informed us that our belongings were being destroyed by an infestation. Meanwhile, we kept paying for a unit full of ruined items. We drove from Las Vegas to California only to find out we couldn't take a single thing. We lost irreplaceable photos, sentimental belongings, and personal memories -- all destroyed. Standing there looking at everything in filth and pieces was absolutely heartbreaking. That building should be inspected by the health department and condemned. If you care about your belongings -- or even basic sanitation -- stay far away from this place. We had an appointment to come in (on a Saturday) and the guy stood us up. It was the last 5x15 that they had so I signed up online but wouldn't have access until Monday. I went to the office Monday morning to get credited for those two days. When he printed out the paperwork it came in my mother in laws name. I put my name and auto-filled the address not thinking it would change the name. The guy said she would have to come down to make any changes or additions. That was completely unacceptable, she's 80+ years old. We decided just to cancel the whole thing since I happened to have enough to pay cash for it we signed up in our name. Now we're good to go. The hours were great. Access til 10pm everyday. That is one reason we chose this place. A couple weeks go by and we get a call saying we have been broken into. My husband goes to see the damage. Instead of the keyless entry to our building now there is a deadbolt and a sign to go see manager so he can let him in. As Jonathon was opening the outer door he said "Oh I put your suitcase back in your unit. I found it outside the door to the building." We didn't think that much about it until later that night. How in the heck did he know that was our suitcase? There were 5 units hit. I can't think of a possible/ logical answer to that question. Maybe because there isn't one.!! A few days later a couple more were hit. We started driving through, hoping to catch somebody. It appears to be all the homeless people that live on the hills behind the place. WOW!!! Many storage units were broken into. As a result, they deadbolted main access doors and mandated you make an appointment with management to access your storage unit. We've now scheduled 2 separate appointments that management has failed to be on-site for. What a joke!! As well, we've spoken to many additional customers that are all telling the same story. . WARRNING DON'T RENT HERE!!! I've had a storage unit here for over 14 years and they keep using my rent every year!!! You would think that they would treat long time loyal customers who always pay on time better then this! But no!!! Also I've left many other bad reviews and they've figured out how to remove them from Yelp! I've been putting it off for a while now but its time to move! There charging me $200. for what new people are paying less then $100. for same size unit! So plz take my advice and keep looking elsewhere! Unsecured and unsafe. My unit and one more were broken into the last weekend in January. Upstairs units inside. The hasp the lock attaches onto was cut, not the lock itself. The thieves had plenty of time and were very comfortable, going through everything carefully and setting boxes aside. When finished, they placed what they left inside the unit and closed the door. No surveillance was available. When moving my remaining items to another location today, I ran into a woman whose unit had been broken into the next weekend along with another unit. The same circumstances were involved with hers as well. It appears that this location has a theft problem the owners are unwilling or unable to address. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! We were renting here for almost a year and on 3/27/19 we entered our unit to find it had been completely ransacked and everything in stolen! The thieves entered the unit via a gap between the wall of the unit and the ceiling of the building!! We immediately notified the general manager Jonathan Pehrson who took pictures and told us "I'm not going to say this never happens, so uhhhh sorry". When you rent here you are told there is "24 hour surveillance" this is a LIE!!! There is ONE camera in the building on the ground floor that monitors the fire exit door! It is also mandatory that you pay for an insurance plan through them and GREAT AMERICAN INSURANCE COMPANY, to cover loss caused by acts of God, and burglary.... guess what that's a scam too! The insurance company is refusing to cover our loss because there were no signs of forced entry! The company obviously knows that the structure of the units is a free for all for thrives and does NOTHING to rectify the issue! They offer no security, no assurance that your items are safe and when a theft happens they give you a half hearted "sorry" and refer you to your scam of an "insurance" that won't cover anything!!! I'm still waiting on a call back from the district manager, and am in the process of obtaining legal representation to go forward with a lawsuit. BOTTOM LINE.....DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I would not recommend renting here. There is a problem with theft. We rented 2 units while we sold our house and moved. Both units were broken into, ransacked, and multiple things were stolen. The management was not helpful and you will not have any rights to see their supposed security footage. While we were getting the remainder of our stuff out of there multiple people were there complaining that their units had also been broken into. The thefts are ongoing and happening to multiple people. They supposedly have security but it is obviously useless. read more

Good especially for college students who do not live in the SB area and doesn't want to constantly bring back and forth their belongings from home to their dorm/home near school. There's a discount for college students and military families! You pay by month & my brother just needs it for the summer (about 3 months) so when he needs to take his stuff out, he'll just tell the front desk that it's done and they won't charge him anymore. I think there's a deal going on for a month it's free of payment! There's a special lock you'll need to have and they sell it for about $15. I felt really good about this storage facility until today. It's clean and always felt safe. After returning from a relaxing Labor Day weekend, I rec'd a call that my storage was broken into. A manager has sent pictures to me off the current condition. From the pictures it appears that what was taken where my neatly packed and organized plastic bins which contained all my childhood memories, family heirlooms, irreplaceable photos and many things that I sell online to earn an income. The furniture items appear to be thrown back in. The lock had been cut and a lock with a broken key was placed on my unit. I will meet with the manager hopefully tomorrow but he already informed me there are no cameras in the hallways. There was at least 20 large plastic bins which would not have fit in just a small car. They must have come prepared to take a large quantity of items. Not sure how this is going to turn out but based on previous reviews, I'm not hopeful for a happy ending. Just wanted others to be aware that this may not be the safest place for your precious belongings. read more

This place seemed great in the beginning but it is complete BS!! Every time I try to get into my storage the damn door needs to be reset!! I need in my storage before the office is actually open at 9:30 it is a HUGH inconvenience for me and the self motion lights on my section have to be smacked a few times just to turn on! So I have to walk down half way down the aisle and hit The sensor just to get the light to turn on... as if it's not already scary enough to go in there so early in the morning, makes me question if my whole section is even working properly for the climate control that I'm paying for read more

Ive have been a client with Cube Smart for the last 4 years. I was informed earlier today, by a rep that some how my storage unit had been compromised. Upon my arrival, I found that 99% of my personal property had been stolen. Come to found out the motorized front gate had be nonoperational for the past month and I had never been informed of this. It's truly a shame that do to lack of diligence to have the gate repaired or hire security to look over the premises, myself and several others have succumb to burglary. I will be in contact with the owners and corporate in regards to this matter. What was stolen is worth more then what insurance can pay out. Unfortunately, when you're looking into storage company's be mindful of their assurance in protecting your personal property. Looks like I have to contact my creditors and banks to make sure that my identity isn't stolen. Mind blowing to say the least. read more

All of me and finances items got stolen. They said did we give someone our keys and someone in our family must of did it. First of all, all of our family lives out of state and no one knows the code, so it was an inside job. We think they had a universal key for the locks that they sale you. Yes we got our lock from them, came to get something out our storage everything was gone. and it was neatly done so you know they had time to move the stuff. Over 10 thousand dollars worth of our staff gone, and its sad because all customers that live far, your stuff could be gone but you still pay on the storage that most likely is empty!! read more

Warning! Do not store your property at this facility! We had all of our stuff stolen from our storage space. Apon investigation we found out that there is NO security cameras in the climate controlled buildings except one to cover a emergency exit in the back. Also there are gaps above the storage space doors big enough for someone to easily get through. On top of all that the office closes at 6 but people can rob your storage til 10pm. The person who did this clearly has a space in the building which allowed them to Circumvent the security code on the door. We told them about the break in and the manager told us sorry it happens and there is nothing they could do. No refund, no help, just sorry. Also they gave us a space on the second floor then the elevator broke and has been so for months with little concern to get it fixed and put back in service. I have been a "tenant" for a long time. This location is always nest snd clean. Recent security updates make it safer to store there. Jonathan and his staff are always courteous and friendly. The rates are reasonable. The free wi-fi and coffee or tea are a welcome change from many places that just want you to pay your bill and go away. read more

I want to give Jonathan Pehrson general manager of cubesmart located in San Bernardino ostrems way . A shout out he is simply Amazing, we were in a very tight window we had to be out of our old house by 3pm . And our new house was in Beaumont so it was a drive we originally went to rent a Penske truck that's how we met him . Penske forgot about leaving us the truck there at the reserved time . And Jonathan called them and he fixed the entire situation along with Penske and got us a bigger truck .. then we realized we were short on time and because we loved working with Jonathan we were like let's see if he has a storage we really didn't know if he had any available he said yes I got 1 with a Amazing deal.. we were so relieved it was a miracle that God sent us to Jonathan at cubesmart we didn't know what we were going to do with not enough time . We then filled that storage and still didn't have enough room so we went back and asked Jonathan do you have another he was like yes and right next to our first one so we wouldn't have to go back and forth and it came with a truck rental which we were like Amazing we couldn't believe it Jonathan let us have it till 330 but we ran into a problem it took us longer to load the stuff so my husband talked to Jonathan he knew our situation and he said I will extended till 6 pm as long as we topped the gas tank we were like Absolutely we would love to Again he was our God sent Angel.. his customer service was Outstanding . He was so Amazing and extremely helpful to us .. If I could give this particular CubeSmart and it's manager Jonathan Pehrson more than 5 stars I surely would. The space itself is so neat and tidy and security is on spot as well. Jonathan and the staff here make the place, they are all so friendly and helpful with everything you need to make your storage experience as great as it can possibly be. We were renting locally with another storage facility, it was an outdoor unit and the dust and dirt, not to mention the spiders and bugs were horrible; however even with all this, the rent kept creeping up about every 3 months. I decided to shop around and by pure luck stumbled into this CubeSmart because it is close to our home. I knew as soon as I met Jonathan and the staff here that this would be our new storage home. We saved loads of money, got an indoor unit, loads of security, free truck for moving our storage from one place to another and service that was outstanding. I feel confident that my personal belongings are safe and I won't have to wade through a bed of dirt to get to my items.I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone even remotely in the area to do business with Jonathan and the staff here. You will not be disappointed, I can promise you that.
