Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

Every month they fail and no-one comes to fix them sometimes for days. If you have heavy material to move up and down, look elsewhere. Staff that do not provide solutions. Just customer dis-service. They got a star for location. But for value and service? Big fat zero.

After 4 months I received a rate change notice that the price was going up to $86/month. A 62% price hike after just a few months! They had the same space listed online for $59/month or $71 if you rented in-store. I'm not sure why they'd charge a current customer more than a new customer. Clearly there's no market demanded price for these units, as they claimed in their rate change notice. Not to mention all the random $29 fee they charge you at move-in. They'd also told me at move-in the cost of my lock was refundable, but did an about face on that at move-out. They refused to answer an email and phone call asking about their rate change and to negotiate a better price so I moved to another facility a few blocks away that gave me a larger space and much lower rate than what I was paying originally ($53 vs. $37).

Others renting similar place are being offered at $150, or so I'm lead to believe. Evidently this is industry standard (month to month pricing), but it feels predatory.
