Happy hour confusion? This whole place advertises happy hour from 2-6pm on Monday-Thursday but none of the spots seem to know about it. My husband and I were starving and wanted Birria tacos and were told to order on the kiosk. The kiosk didn't offer the 20 percent off happy hour that the sign right above it was advertising. This was a Wednesday at 4:30pm mind you. So it was def happy hour. I kindly asked the server about it and she didn't know what I was talking about. The server behind her said that it was over at 6 and then I said it was 4:30... she then took our order at the kiosk. It was a bit of a frustrating experience because there's signs that say happy hour but people are asked to order at the kiosk and the kiosk doesn't have happy hour adjustments on it. The Birria tacos are super tasty but this confusion dampened the whole experience.

    Street Taco Trio

This was our first time at Redlands Public Market, and we decided to grab a small bite from Fred's Red Tacos. We ordered the street taco trio, and they only had two meat options that night: birria and carne asada. We opted for two birria tacos and one carne asada taco. Our tacos were a bit small, but that's to be expected for street tacos. The birria tacos were nice and flavorful. The carne asada was a bit tough, but the flavor was good. Their tortilla chips were especially good, and you could tell that they were made in-house.

This was on my go to places to visit. This was the first time going to Redlands Public Market and to especially Fred's Red Taco's. Redlands Public Market is located in Redlands and 3rd Street, next to Denny's Restaurant. Parking can be a challenge in my personal opinion, but there is plenty of parking across at the now closed Loop Theater. Once inside the Public Market they are located in the middle of the pathway. Their speciality is their Birria meat. Looking at their menu, everything looked really looked good in my opinion. I decided to order: Loaded Birria Nachos. It comes with: Fresh fried chips, peppered queso blanco sauce, beans, birria, topped with sour cream, creamy serrano sauce, onion, cilantro, fresh guacamole and pickled onions. When you arrive you have the option of ordering on the kiosk or order ahead for pickup When you place your order on the kiosk, you input your phone number so you can be notified via text your order is ready for pick up. When my order was ready, I was eager to try and it did not disappoint. The size of the Loaded Nachos was ok, but it looked deceiving in my opinion. I was very eager to try and the flavors were amazing in my opinion. I would tell that it was prepared fresh and the combination of flavors meshed very well overall in my opinion. For my drink, I decided to get a Mexican Coke. The Birria was very flavorful and the meat was tender. I thought the overall size would not fill me up, but it sure did. There is plenty of seating inside the Public Market and there is outside seating as an option. My overall experience was great and the overall size for the Loaded Nachos impressed me. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Fred Red Taco's if you have never tried Birria and if you are in the Redlands area. For my next visit, I want to try their other items on the menu.

Came with little to no expectations but damn that grilled cheese birria blew me away! Redlands Public Market has so many options and it's inevitable to be overwhelmed, but their grilled cheese birria is definitely a must try when you're here. Portion is pretty hefty for one person. It's filled with so much flavor and juicy birria and cheese--a flavor bomb waiting to explode, even more when you dip it into the consomé. I'm salivating just looking at these photos that I took!

While walking around in the Redlands Public Market, I was drawn to this bright and colorful light. I walked closer and saw "To Die For Fred's Red Tacos" with red and yellow neon lights. Too funny! I had to find out what's so amazing that's too die for so here I am LOL. Food and humor is the perfect combo! I believe one of the ladies behind the counter was in training. The other lady was the trainer. Both were hospitable and very helpful in answering my questions. They serve burria, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads, fries and more. Their most popular item is the cheesy and crispy Quesataco in birria style. I had to get one of them, but with chicken instead of beef. I also got 2 single street tacos with chicken. My order came with chips and salsa. All their food items are made to order. OMG... Quesataco was so delicious... very crispy and cheesy as advertised. Chicken was well flavored. If I knew how tasty it is, I would have gotten 2 more. Highly recommend it. "To Die For" verified! As for the chicken tacos, I can't say the same unfortunately. Chicken chunks are slightly tough. Flavor was meh... need more seasoning. I was disappointed. I may give them another try next time. Hopefully I get a better outcome. Chips and salsa were good though. Friendly staff. Quick service. Great prices. If you're craving for "To Die For" great eats, Fred's the right place for you! Come on by and support them.

Located inside the RPM! The aguas frescas were 10/10! Birria taste was a little off then traditional but it wasn't bad. Maybe 8/10 The fries were $17 plus tax. Service was nice and very friendly got some samples for the aguas Service: 10/10 Located inside a food hall so lots of seating , music, etc

This was our first time going to the Redlands Public Market. Parking was a little tough during a Tuesday evening, but there is a parking structure, a block away. They also have trivia night on Tuesdays if anyone is interested! We got a platter of the Original Quesatacos. I was really excited because I love birria. Overall, the food was pretty good. The food was super hot and smelled great. Overall, the quesatacos were good. The consome was a little bland, but adding my own salt and lime really brought the flavors out. We would buy this again. Overall, the market is a great place for a date night or a group outing. There's a good amount of indoor seating and there are a variety of food options.

If you're in downtown Redlands and craving some Mexican food, then you definitely have to hit up Fred's Red Tacos in the Redlands Public Market. Their prices are reasonable and the food is just absolutely delicious. I opted to get the carne asada nachos and and I made sure to also ask for some of the habanero sauce as well. The nachos themselves had an amazing flavor and spice and the portions of guacamole and carne asada were very generous. I absolutely recommend coming to check it out, and I know that I will definitely be coming back to share with my wife.

Cheesy and flavorful quesatacos, yum! This taco spot is located inside the Redlands Public Market. You can order from any of the stalls from a touch screen pad located around the hall. The tacos didn't take too long to be ready after I ordered them. The quesatacos were cheesy and warm. I also love the juicy birria meat. The consome was also great as well and I even loved sipping on it. I also like how the flavors weren't too salty. Overall, the food here was delicious and I would love to dine here again and try the other items.

Kiosk ordering was a mess. Staff added onions to my meatless fries (not listed), refused to fix it and wanted to argue, and above all were extremely rude and slow. The staff member continually reminded me it was my fault- took an additional 30 mins to fix their mistake. She then last minute took away my sauces that had been sitting on the plate for about 45 mins now and refused to put my guac on the new bowl. Not worth it.

Birria platter: Flavor is alright, but too salty. The rice was undercooked. Beans are just ok. 8/25/25.

Birria platter: the flavor is alright, but too salty. The rice was undercooked. And the beans are just ok. 8/25/25.

Ordered the Bomb Trio + Street Trio both with the option of getting free consome when ordering 2 birria tacos in the trio. Received our togo order without the consome and the bomb trio didn't have the cheese inside as it was supposed to. The kiosk that you have to order on also does not give you the option of selected more than 1 of the same meat when it's offered on their menu. Decent mexican though. Just unhappy with the lack of attention to the order.

    Carne Asada burrito
    Antonio R.

Ordered the regular burrito with Carne Asada. It was actually a solid tasting burrito and the size was pretty good. The cheese and beans definitely made the burrito stand out a bit. I did get pieces of "cuero" aka fat in the carne asada. The type you can't chew and gotta take out your mouth. Overall, 3/5. In my opinion, I will say you are paying extra because of the location. A $16.00 burrito is pretty pricy for what it was. Service: I can't speak on the service much, as they had a sign telling you to "-order at the kiosk". However they were nice enough to split the burrito for me when i received it.

Birria Platter: birria, rice & beans, with your choice of tortillas or corn chips.

The flavors and textures were that good. My wife ordered the 3 taco plate with al pastor, asada, and chicken. I went with the fish taco plate. The al pastor and asada were the standouts for us. Super flavorful, juicy, and honestly satisfying enough to make you forget it's plant-based. The fish taco had great flavor too, though the texture was a little firmer than what I normally like. Not bad at all, just personal preference. Also, do NOT skip the salsa de pina and sweet pickled onions. That combo on the tacos was ridiculously good. They were so patient and genuinely kind--took the time to explain the menu, what everything was made of, and gave helpful recommendations without rushing me at all. That made the experience even better, especially if you're new to vegan options. I ended up getting the fish taco plate and OMG... every single bite was so good. A colleague spoke very highly of Taco Shack and after a close examination of the menu, I was in shock to see a California Burrito on their menu. I had to try it. The result? PERFECTION! The staff working the day I came in were kind, patient, and quick with orders. The establishment itself is a counter service type of spot. I'm thrilled to have found Taco Shack and will definitely be stopping by again to try more items off of their menu. I placed a DoorDash order totaling over $50 to feed my family of four. Because they typically provide very little salsa (which honestly is what makes the food), I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask about adding extra. The woman I spoke with told me they would include 10 green salsas and that I could pay for the extras. She wasn't able to process payment over the phone, so I went back into the app and added an additional side of guacamole per person to increase the order. When the order arrived, we only received 6 green salsas and nothing extra. When I called the restaurant, the same woman said she didn't see anything on her end showing the additions, so she didn't include them -- even though she had already told me she would. For a $55 order, not including the extra salsa that was discussed is frustrating, especially when this has been an ongoing issue with missing items in previous orders. On top of that, we ordered four separate dinners and everything was combined into just two containers. The lack of attention to the order and the dismissive response when I called back were disappointing. Unfortunately, after multiple experiences like this, I won't be ordering from here again.
