Used to be a favorite place to go for good pasta and pizza. My wife had risotto with scallops and I had pizza last night . Scallops were over done as was the risotto. My 6" pizza had more dough than pizza. The server brought us bottle of wine and left it on the table with out opening it. The food has gone downhill in my view. Bummer of a meal ! read more

I love the atmosphere, and they have great pizzas. However, the lack of wait staff is very frustrating. It is a very small restaurant, but it seems to be overrun with take-out pizza orders. The past two times I have been there, both in the fall of 2017, my orders have been messed up in one way or another. The service could most definitely be improved. read more

For Valentine's Day I decide to go to your restaurant. Saw all the great reviews and figured it would be nice to take my date there. When we got there we were told maybe not possible to seat us. I ask why if a table for two is available at the front. Was told it was a reservation but they were late a half hr. Really? And how long were they thinking of holding it? was going to be my reply but another person told us that we could have it when the first person couldn't make up their mind. Everything nice but our server took an inordinate time to check on us the one or two times she did. All my water refills were asked for, to other servers, and when I needed something I would ask another server. Specially the one who had the very first table on the right of the door, she was awesome, checking up on her table every so often. She had the first table on the right as soon as you walk in. too bad she wasn't our server. When we finished, I had to go to the back to get a carry out box cause I waited enough time. I was asked back there if I wanted dessert but I declined. I went to the men's room and had the bill ready when I returned to the table, thank you. While i was getting the payment I took my time cause I was waiting for a rose that the last five tables that left before me received. I waited in vain. We left without one for my date. I admit, your food was great, I thank you for that. Your service on the other hand. I work at the airport for a major airline and I'm asked tens of times a week from travelers, where's a good restaurant in the area. I used to say that I've read you were good and pass the info, but from experience, I will no longer offer up your establishment. Thank you. read more

Cucina Antica recently put out a new menu and as a regular, I can say it's quite amazing, new fresh and great twists on their entrees. It's always hard for me to choose between their custom pizzas or their pasta dishes. I recently had the new Chicken Gnocchi and it was AMAZING, the homemade gnocchi was fresh and better then any I've ever had. The chicken was so moist, honestly I don't even know how to cook chicken like they did. I could also tell the cream sauce was made to order, because I asked to hold the garlic and the waitress said she would make sure Chef Matt wouldn't make the sauce with it! I can't wait to try the new salmon entree too. read more

I've only been once to date, but I look forward to visiting again. I had heard great things about Cucina Antica, living in Shelburne for the past 30 years, but for whatever reason had never stopped in for a meal. The place seemed a bit confused with great menu items which were contrasted by accents such as vinyl table cloths, paper napkins, etc. I think some previous reviews had made an impact on management (several mentioned poor service). My party certainly did not find a lack of attention by servers, in fact to the contrary...during our one-hour meal we must have been asked at least 20 times (through 3 different servers) if we needed anything. It started to get annoying after a while but it's also good to see owners responding to feedback. Overall I really liked the food here, and the atmosphere didn't bother me. Truly disappointing!!! Pasta was more like mashed potato, eggplant was very soggy as well. Also, when I arrived to pick up order it seemed to be taking a bit of time and there was conversation as they handed a container back and forth between kitchen and cashier. I asked if there was a problem and cashier stated they added chicken to my order and she proceeded to put it in the bag. Ummm "I'm vegetarian", her response was that chicken shouldn't be a problem then. hmmm.. ..Really! They asked several times if I was sure that I wanted them to warm a new spanakopita or if I were okay with the one that had chicken laying on it. Owner was apologetic but staff seemed oblivious. What part of vegetarian is not understood!Two teenage boys were the cooks, so guess that explains part of problem. I paid $35 for the two meals and honestly not worth $20. We'll stick to LaVilla. this is my second time reviewing for Cucina. the first review was not as detailed. I have probably dined at Cucina more than any other restaurant. It's located in my town, not far from my house. it's cozy and friendly. I'd like to think i've tried a large variety of things off their menu so i want to touch on a few. First: anything Lobster, alfredo, ravioli etc. you will not be disappointed. 2nd, their pizza, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. a couple of my favorites: the chico, the green mountain, and camels hump. their whole wheat crust is amazing, plus they have gluten free crust as well. their antipasto is a must. I'm also a very big fan of their salmon. their steak and cheese with au ju is another great option. I lived in Greece for 3 months so i am picky about my gyros but their gyro can definitely match up. they have a nice selection of wine and beer as well. and last but not least: dessert, the chef's wife makes a TO DIE FOR lemon cake. I don't even like lemon! and i love this cake. you also must try their cannoli. so to sum up everything i said: if you haven't been here yet, you need to go. read more

They did so much wrong! Didn't tell us it would be 25 minutes longer for gluten free pasta. Then didn't serve food for 40 minutes. We went up to check on food and saw our waitress eating her dinner. Then one person served, five minutes later next person served, then ten minutes more till next plate arrived. Pasta undercooked, gluten free pizza out crust inedible. We complained and asked for price adjustment and they were unwilling to budge on price. Don't go there. read more

It was a nice family place. Generous portion sizes. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken as an app and I have no complaints there. The salad was very fresh, and the chicken was moist and tender. I got the portobello mushroom and goat cheese ravioli. It was a special. There was nothing glaringly wrong about it, it was just very boring in flavor. Everything else was good. read more

I can't say enough about this restaurant and its owner/chef Michael! My husband and I contacted Cucina Antica in regards to hosting a rehearsal dinner and they went above and beyond to help us make this a great dinner event. We drove from out of state to try the food before we committed to using it for the event and we were beyond impressed with the quality and quantity of the meals. The dressing for the salad was amazingly good and everything we ate after that was even better. We tried the cider braised pork and the chicken parmesan and knew right away that this was the place for our event. We had a limited budget and around 65 people to feed and Michael not only helped us to stay within our budget, but was great about accommodating different meal choices, as well as gluten free options, kids' meals, and delicious desserts. The servers and wait staff were fanastic. They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to take care of each guest and their needs. The beer and wine choices were locally sourced and seasonally appropriate. We had chosen three meal options, some of which were gluten free: cider braised pork, chicken parmesan, and chicken broccoli alfredo. Each meal was served in a timely manner and was hot and delicious . The positive comments and accolades about the food were countless. The portions were generous and no one walked away hungry. The only challenge was finding room for dessert, either lemon cake or tiramisu, and these too were incredibly delicious. The restaurant has an area with chalkboards lining the walls and this offered an opportunity for guests to leave comments, pictures, and well-wishes for the bride and groom. It was a fun and enjoyable evening for the bride and groom, the bride's family, the groom's family, and each guest, but especially for us as the groom's parents and the hosts of the event. Micheal made what felt like an overwhelming task of feeding multiple people with multiple dietary needs for a very special occasion a relatively painless task and an event to remember. We are so grateful to Michael and all his staff for doing such an incredible job. We even went back to have a meal there with some friends before we headed home and once again we were not disappointed. It is definitely a restaurant that we will return to when we are in the Burlington, VT area. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Cucina Antica last weekend on a recommendation. We weren't overly impressed. Service was slow- it appeared they only had two servers and the restaurant was full. He ordered the scallops and risotto and while the scallops were good and perfectly cooked, everything seemed to lack seasoning. I ordered the Ribeye- which came with asparagus and sour cream and chive gnocchi. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was definitely medium/overcooked. In addition the gnocchi, the main reason I ordered this dish, was inedible. It was supposed to come with cheddar melted on top but was so burnt, stuck together and dry, I couldn't tell if this was done. Not the soft texture that you expect with gnocchi. It was a significant part of the dish that was completely ruined. Not sure how this even left the kitchen looking like this. The waitress said she would make some to go for me. No offer to discount the meal whatsoever. No real acknowledgement that the gnocchi looked like one giant burnt mess. When the replacement came out, it was a very small portion, covered in red sauce (not the same gnocchi from the dish) and really didn't compensate for what ruined the meal. The asparagus that came with the meal was the giant kind, which can be (and was) chewy and not that satisfying. On a high note, the salad that we got before the meal with Creamy maple balsamic, was very good. This is a family restaurant- lots of kids even on a weekend.
