My wife had dementia. I chose Cuddle House (no care) because it was close to our house, was small, modern and my wife's room had a large window that looked out onto the front yard. There were endless problems with staff and Hospice. Staff didn't make sure my wife swallowed her medication. I found it in her covers several times. One care worker was a homeless person with her 3 year old living in the master bedroom bath. They left my wife in a dirty brief for 10 to 12 hours numerous times, then claimed she was a "digger". Had to wash her hands before I could feed her breakfast. The Hospice nurse said she wasn't getting enough fluids. So, I pushed the facility to hydrate her. THe homeless person told me she wasn't going to force my wife to drink. I told her i was asking her to offer my wife something to drink and to coax her if necessary, not force her. We got into a yelling match. The food was often greasy because they didn't drain the grease from hamburger meat or sausage. The wife of the owner was feeding my wife lunch, but disappeared without finishing feeding her. I discovered she had gone to another facility they had. I called her and she said the homeless person fed her. I told her the homeless person didn't finish feeding her because I was there the entire time. The operation was a family affair with the 18 year old granddaughter with braces, the mother as manager, the grandmother as care giver, the husband as owner and a sister as money collector. The husband would constantly ask me if I didn't have something else to do, because he didn't want me to see their incompetence. A friend of mine had her husband there 3 days and mover him out. Another friend had a problem with the unsupervised 3 year old playing with her mother's heart monitor. I had a problem with the 3 year old getting in my wife's closet.
Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more
