You guys need more organization. The food was good, but the service was too slow. We were so excited to see a Peruvian restaurant near us! The menu is actually decently authentic (no quesadillas on this menu!). We ordered papa a la huancaina, lomo saltado and aji de gallina. Nothing was stellar but nothing was bad either. Definitely felt like the staff were still getting their bearings and we'll be checking it out again in a few months when they've had a chance to settle in. In fairness it's probably more of a 3.5 stars. All in all would recommend this place especially if you're trying to try something new. read more

This restaurant has the potential to be good but the day I went the food was cold and had to be sent back. The fries were old and warmed back up. The chicken was cold. I don't think Peruvian food is served cold. If they are serving cold food that implies the food is not fresh. If the food came out hot, it would have been great. The food is great. Don't get me wrong. I really hate to give it a one star. However, if I'm constantly fanning my food like I'm eating outside at a BBQ, then we have a problem. I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. I shrugged it off but I woke up at 2am with food poisoning and unable to keep food down. I strongly disliked my food here tonight. The portion size was so large that the plate looked sloppy. The rice wasn't any better than a 2 minute microwave rice with peas in it. The chicken was dried out to the max and was presented on the plate with a bunch of soggy skin and falling apart bones. I will not be back. read more

Good service, but the food was pretty underwhelming. We had the Pollo a la Brasa (quarter) with yucas fritas and a side salad, and the Aji de Gallina. The Pollo a la Brasa is just a piece of marinated chicken with half a plate of white rice and some dipping sauce. The chicken is tender but not very flavorful. The side salad is basic and just lettuce, shredded carrots, tomato, and ranch dressing. The yuca fries are big thick fried yuca served with a spicy sauce and were delicious! The Aji de Gallina is shredded chicken drenched in a yellow sauce and again a half a plate of white rice. As with the other dish, it wasn't bad but just didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. We didn't have a bad experience but I can't say there's anything that made me want to come back. read more

I've been here about 4 times now, and the food is consistent each time. The flavors are just right, and the service is for the most part, pretty good. My only recommendation is that they should probably turn on the air conditioning a little higher. It gets real toasty and humid in there with them being so busy, especially on a hot summer day. This is my first time here but the chicken, and the fry dish with hot dogs was amazing. The various sauces are flavorful and unique. The service was great and it took maybe 5-10 minutes before we had delicious food in front of us. Fantastic Pollo de braso! Papa de la huancaina is served cold and didn't realize that when ordered. We didn't like it for that reason, but it was a well balanced dish. Our order sat on the counter getting cold for over 10 minutes so when we finally got it chicken was barely warm and beans were cold. Reordered rice and beans, rice was excellent. Have them a pass on the poor service due to being so new. Food was very tasty and we will try at least once more before we decide if the cold food was a simple mistake or s thing to avoid. read more

Never tried Peruvian food before but thought we'd give it a shot. AMAZING!! The spices and flavors are fantastic. Ordered a few entrees carryout. Service was friendly and efficient. We especially loved the Arroz Chanda. Great complexity of seasonings and textures. Everything was absolutely wonderful. They have a great authentic Peruvian menu, and the staff was knowledgeable and happy to answer any and all of our questions, as well as offered recommendations. The favors are 5 stars (must get the salsa side). We shared 6 small plates between 4 people and finished everything, very filling, but the flavor profile was just great. Some spice, some savory. Finally an authentic Peruvian restaurant, coming from Elizabeth, New Jersey we have Peruvian restaurants everywhere, at least 10 within 5 miles because of how delicious and flavorful Peruvian food actually is. The chicken was amazing, the staff was friendly they helped me take my order out to my car. Will come again and make sure I get the whole order of the chicken. This was unfortunately, a disappointing, underwhelming and sad Peruvian dining experience. I couldn't be more genuinely discontent. I ordered from Culantro expecting an authentic, filling and warming experience. Instead I got a late, cold, half full box of takeout food. To even call what I ordered a pork sandwich, is a disgrace to sandwiches everywhere. It was more so a cold bun with more sauce then meat.... it's like they just threw whatever pork they had left after a dinner rush onto my sandwich. I paid an extra 4$ for a side of maduro fritos and got 2 half pieces. I'm honestly disgusted with this place. 14$ for half of a cold sand which and a few scraps of warm banana.
