The filter needs to be changed once a year, and the company provides the service at minimal cost. Their water coolers have a filter and can be connected to your fountain, dispensing with the need for big ugly plastic containers delivered every week or so. The coolers provide both cold and hot water, eliminating the need to boil water if one wants to drink tea, for example.
