I hate to give bad reviews but this place was horrible in every aspect: bad service, bad food, and bad attitudes from everyone. We had a table of 10 people and it took nearly 2 hours to get our food, and they literally only brought out a few plates of food at a time leaving everyone else without food. It also took forever to get drinks since the rude bartender was also waiting tables. There was only a few tables with people when we arrived, so it should have never taken so long to get our food. The worst part was the food was NOT good. The fried chicken, ribs, pork chops, and porterhouse were overcooked, zero seasoning and zero flavor. Even a simple burger was awful. The only thing that was slightly tasty was a few appetizers, which were clearly from a food supplier not homemade. Our waitress never shared her name but she was honest about our food selections. It was happy hour so the birthday girl and I ordered a drink. She seemed to like hers but I never received mine. The menu is vast and I had a hard time making a decision. I ordered my namesake dish, the Nikki Chicken. Our food finally arrived an hour after being seated and it was delicious! The Nikki chicken did not disappoint, the yams weren't overly sweet, and the dressing was Thanksgiving table worthy! At the conclusion of our meal we needed to go containers which we received timely but we had to wait a long time for our bill. Mannnnnn!!! I visited here for lunch with a friend and to my surprise they automatically add 18% gratuity to my bill. It doesn't matter how many people are with you. The food was pretty good. I learned a valuable lesson because my receipt was not shown to me. I received a text with the total on it after I paid. I actually double tipped her because I did not get a hard copy or know that the gratuity was included. Moving forward I don't care if I go to the gas station I want a receipt from the pump and the cashier!! . Really this has taught me to stay my behind home and cook, then I won't be blindsided out my money! Or as soon as I walk in the door ask what is gratuity and if gratuity is automatically included no matter the party size. Oh oh oh, let me not forget that if they have a band or some kind of entertainment there will be an additional cover to your bill!!! Well I hope this helps. Husband ordered the same except he opted for the collards instead of the Mac and cheese with a side order of the cornbread muffin. The food came and looked delicious. Yay then came back with plastic utensils in a bag. Wow so y'all don't have real silverware??!! What ever maybe they are on a budget. Our stuffing was supposed to come with gravy and it didn't. I had to ask for it. I also asked for Tabasco she brings back Louisiana. Yay said this what folks called Tabasco. I tried to explain that Tabasco was Tabasco she's like the kind you get at Chipotle. I'm saying to myself lady I don't eat at places like that I don't know what they serve over there. I told her forget it. It took us a good 10 mins to get the gravy to go with the stuffing and that came cold. Everything was tasty the cornbread muffin was hard as a rock. We may come back just for the food as a takeout but the not a good ambiance for the price they charge and tasty food they serve. Staff is very important as well in this business.
