Now moving up from Illinois to Wisconsin established restaurant in my America 250 series is Culver's. Many of the reviews the place was established in whichever state, but my experience was far away from where the restaurant was established, but in this case, my review is in the neighboring state. I first had Culver's with my parents when they lived in Arizona and thought they were great. Also, I had their great custard once in St. Louis. A friend & I took a trip to Chicago & Wisconsin in September 2021. On the way back to drop off the rental car before heading back to O'Hare, we quickly stopped at Culver's in the Portage Park neighborhood. After a long trek from Madison on a long toll road and then some heavy traffic near here, we arrived for a quick lunch. I told my friend how great Culver's is. He enjoyed as did I. I had a Culver's butter burger; the top bun is lightly buttered for extra flavor. They use real Wisconsin cheddar cheese. I had fries, which were good too. And had a vanilla custard, which is great here. Staff was nice. Maybe not the very quickest option we could've chosen, but who wants McDonald's?! I live near a McDonald's, and I still choose to never go there. Sadly, no pics of my burger/custard as we were in a rush to drop the rental car in time & make our flight. read more

I'm disappointed to write this, because my family genuinely loves Culver's and we order the same thing every time: two Culver's Deluxe burgers, cheese fries, onion rings, 1 Double Cheesebuger with ketchup + mustard only. But in the past few weeks, this location has gone downhill. Incident #1 - Uber Eats (3 weeks ago) Our order arrived completely inedible. Everything was so over-salted that you could literally see salt crystals everywhere. We tossed the food out. Incident #2 - Drive-Thru Pickup I went through drive-thru recently, was about to pull away when the worker stopped me saying they'd forgotten one burger. I drove home and again saw the same issue: burgers and sides coated in salt like they were dipped in a salt box. I called and spoke to a man who said he was a manager; he apologized and told me to come back in and they would remake the order. When I arrived, a different person the shift lead apologized and asked if I wanted a refund or a redo. I requested a redo with no salt on the burgers, fries, and onion rings. She assured me it would be made correct. 10 minutes later a different staff member handed me the replacement bag. Unbelievably, when I got home, the entire order was again overly salted. Fries, onion rings, burgers all of it. At that point it felt like a prank or a serious QC failure. This isn't just a minor mistake it's repeated, identical errors even after clear requests and escalation to management. Something is broken here, whether it's training, communication, or understaffing. I hope corporate investigates and fixes it, because this used to be one of our favorite spots. read more

The last picture,the female ( walking out an order to the waiting car,who refused me service taking any order from me, is a huge problem too. She refused me service unless I moved from the parking spot ( ' No Parking' except for drive thru orders waiting signs were not posted anywhere , but the marked parking spots on the ground along that fence were never utilized. ) why would I express my concerns to Culvers corporate office. YOU'RE THE BUSINESS MGR / MANAGEMENT.... ADDRESS THE PROBLEM TO your Emoloyees ABOUT NEVER TURNING AWAY ( REFUSING SERVICE) TO ANY CUSTOMER! Culver's is one of my favorite fast food spots to dine in. It's always clean and the food is fresh. I stopped by today for a quick bite and it was a very no-nonsense, easy experience. I probably visit this location once or twice a year and I've never had an issue. I would definitely recommend it. read more

When I'm in a pinch for time I go to Culver's in Portage Park sometime I go to the Montrose "L" location. Most people go for the the burgers but I like to try new items too. This time I chose the Cod Fish Combo with onion rings in place of the fries. Check out the photo it's a pretty good size sandwich with the rings in the background. read more

Excellent All around! Amazing Staff, service, prompt, clean, and tasty. THANK YOU! A few times a year, we come to Culver's in Portage Park, IRVING PARK & LAVERGNE, Chicago, IL. Going on multiple years now. Over 50 ppl (Inc children) we had here after school event. Sometimes unexpected. The Staff receives our sudden visits with Smiles, kindness, PATIENCE and promptly take all of our orders and serve us with no stress, no attitude, no complaints. They all smile and clean around us. It's truly a one of a kind, unforgettable moments at this specific Culver's. We visited on Thursday Dec 11 approx 8pm and they did it again, handled our large group so well. HANDS DOWN, APPLAUDING HERE. I've been in the Corporate Industry for years and have never experienced strong customer service like this. Management here refuses to make things right when they blatantly don't give you items you ordered. $15.50 for a burger with a root beer is way too much. The fries they serve are rock hard, cold, and inedible. I don't know what is going on with this location - but save your money and avoid it like the plague. Never again!! read more

My granddaughter and I decided to dine in at the Culver's in Oswego Illinois. They messed up my hamburger order. When they brought me the right burger it was very warm but very greasy! My granddaughters chicken tenders and cheese curds were also greasy! If I wanted greasy good we would have gone to McDonald's! There food quality has definitely gone down hill! If I checked in every time I went here, I'd definitely be the duchess of Culver's. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. In all embarrassment I probably come here once per week. Here's some pro tips 1) there's a survey on the receipt, if you fill it out you get a free cup/come of ice cream. It takes about 2 mins to do and I usually save them and do the survey will waiting in line the next time I'm there 2) they have gluten free buns 3) you can never go wrong with the cheese curds There is parking in the back and the restaurant is always sparkling clean. Disappointing experience, mashed potatoes and gravy tasted nothing like it, potatoes were powdery, steaming hot and the gravy tasted like vegetable soup with dirt in it. I asked twice for Wisconsin Swiss but on sourdough instead of rye and got it on overly salted rye bread anyway. My fiancé's mushroom Swiss burger was extremely greasy. Chili fries were the only item that actually tasted decent. What a waste of money. P.S. I don't understand how the worker looks at you, says "yes it will be on sourdough instead of rye" while checking the order in computer and you don't end up getting what you asked for. read more

Employees are helpful and upbeat. I didn't realize that at Culver's their thing is that they make people's food to order, so when you place your order you'll be asked to pull up and wait until your order is ready. Their food is pretty good and they have cheese curds, which I was pretty hungry for. And they have good root beer that is I guess their own recipe, none of that gross Barq's stuff. read more

I'd never been huge on Culver's when I lived in Wisconsin. This location here in Chicago changed my mind! The space is kept so clean, it does not smell greasy, and the staff is professional and totally on top of keeping tables ready for the next guest. I'm always walking past here and see how great they do with bringing orders to waiting vehicles. A value meal with an adult burger is a bit too much grease for me, but I figured out I can purchase a kids' meal, and the portion is perfect. Per the staff this Culver's is rated third best in the nation! Employees are friendly and engaging. At least two prompted a conversation to check on our experience and sway us into filling out the survey mentioned on our receipt. Added bonus to filling out the survey, I get a scoop of frozen custard and potentially, they could win monies for their restaurant. I brought two niblings for their first Culver's experience. The kids were thrilled with the kids meal options and best of all, a scoop of frozen custard came with one free topping. Score! While dining an employee offered us a free sample of their seasonal flavor, spiced pumpkin. For a Sunday night the restaurant was swamped but employees managed to keep the dining area clean and good times going. The vibe their employees bring, makes the shop feel lively. read more

ordered from the store in oak forest, il on 9/13. ordered 2 single cheedebuggers with ketchup and onion. 3-4 hours later (after eating only 1/2 of one burger) I was so sick...puking and let's just say spewing from both ends for the next 5 hours. I ate nothing else before or after. then today my coworker got a burger from the SAME Culver's and 3 hours later, she is now in the bathroom spewing her guts for the last 30 minutes. IT'S BETTER WITH BUTTER I grew up around six corners and I'm excited to see a Culver's in my old neighborhood. Six corners was the place to be when I was growing up as a kid. There was a huge Sears department store, a Woolworth Five & Dime and a Key department store. It was a shopping Mecca. All of these places are gone now and it's exciting to see a new generation of businesses like Culver's move into the community. It's businesses like this that are leading the way to bringing back the greatness of six corners. The Culver's team here is amazing. I must also give a shout out to the GM Savannah. She is super sweet and also makes a delicious Sundae. I can hardly wait to come back here for another one. I ordered a double ButterBurger value basket that came with fries and I upgrade to a Butterfinger chocolate shake because I haven't had soda in 10 years. It's a good &2 upgrade. I love the Oreo shake bit wanted to get my wife her favorite candy. She was really surprised with the Butterfinger. The burger was so good. I love eating Culver's in the restaurant because they plate up the food so nice. It always seems smashed in the container on take away. The burger was pure perfection. I was also impressed that my cheese was melted. In the 100's of Culver's Burgers I've had the cheese is always not melted. I talked to the GM here and she told me that is how they serve them at six corners. She truly made my day by delivering it this way. She then told me that I can request melted cheese. What? This is a game changer for me. I'm asking for this every single time I order my ButterBurger. It's such a good burger. The family from Wisconsin that started this business understands how to make a good burger and how to treat customers with respect. They also give back to the community. That's amazing! The fries were very good too. I usually get the onion rings but decided to get some fries. The crinkle fries always remind me of my late Mom. She'd make those frozen fries at home and serve them to us on special occasions. It's a good memory. Kind of like the memories we build with every visit to Culver's. Thanks Culver's for opening locations in Chicago. I'd always eat Culver's on road trips but it's nice to know I can drive a short distance for one of your amazing ButterBurgers in the city. Culver's hosted a birthday party for our 12 year old yesterday - first one ever hosted by this Culver's - and it was a giant success! The Culver's staff, lead by Savannah, was magnificent. The planning and communication was professional, the food was hot, delicious and ready to go the moment all 25 of us (!) arrived on a bus, the area was festive (see pic), the cleanup was super quick, and the staff was attentive throughout. Finally, a Culver's somewhere in the city. Love how clean they keep this location and hopefully it lasts that way. It's fairly new to the Portage Park neighborhood but I hope they can maintain the cleanliness. Back in the day, I remeber Culver's having some expensive combo meals for a fast food restaurant and thats why I didnt really like going there. Not sure if they recently revised their menu, but its more affordable now with $6-$7 combo meals that are available. I love their butterburgers and their custard. I guess thats good because thats what they're known for. The kids meal is awesome too as it includes a nice size custard portion for the kiddos. This location has plenty of seats available yo dine inside, with even a couple of flat screens available. They even have a couple of tables outdoors if you wanted to enjoy your meal/custard outside. Their service is nice and friendly. The manager always comes around and makes sure you are happy with your order. Great addition to the neighborhood. read more

FIRE THE GENERAL MANAGER! The general manager, the card they gave me says Savannah Weicorek, was incredibly rude. When I ordered they told me I could come back up to get my custards after my meal. When I went back up the general manager said I needed the coupon from the bag to get my custard. I told her no-one told me anything, that they've let me use my reciept for the custard before. I had just thrown tray in the garbage. She made me dig through the garbage to the the coupon on the side of the bag. She said that I could just be trying to get a second custard. This is absurd and then refused to give me the custard AFTER she made me dig through the garbage!! She walked away and another employee took my order and they did NOT need all the coupons from the bag. The manager then pushed another employee out of the way to make sure she made our custard order, which I did NOT trust. She probably spit in it or stuck her finger it . It was suspicious that she wanted to prepare my order after treating me and my kids like degenerates. From reading the reviews , this is not the first incident people have had with this manager. I don't know why she is still employed at Culver's. She's rude, unprofessional and overall a terrible human. I filed a complaint to Culver's and I hope they follow up. The treatment was ridiculously rude. Culver's need to do better and get rid of her. I will NOT be returning if they continue to employ disgusting human beings. read more

A little pricey for a fast food place but a great addition to the neighborhood. They seem to have their act together during covid, with plenty of capacity to handle drive thru customers and a detailed but easy to follow carry out set up. From one of the signs out front I wasn't sure initially if I could order carry out food in the actual restaurant but you can go in and order then space out as you wait for the food. Really polite staff, too. Also even though I love fries more than almost anything and I tend to order large fries at any drive thru, this is the only fast food place where a small fry is food enough. Also try the cheese curds - can't find anything like that at other drive thrus and they're just as good here as they are at Culver's in Wisconsin. read more

Sure, Culver's is a chain, but as chains go their burgers are pretty good, very fresh beef, fresh toppings and crispy bacon. I also love their crinkly fries. And the custard is always good. If you give blood at Vitalant you can (or used to be able to) get coupons for free pints, so we take advantage of those when we can. Service at this location is friendly and the drive-in is pretty efficient. Good speaker system for collecting the orders. read more

Also, I asked for sauce for my cheese curds.
