I've never been to Five Guys before and this was my first time there. I told them I've never been here before and received 0 recommendations or suggestions. Poor customer service. Clean restaurant. I paid $23.00 a Cheese Dog and a Cheeseburger. That's pretty high in the steep end for the quality. However the presentation of both foods was good, the burger was juicy and thick with all toppings, and held together surprisingly well and the taste of the burger was much better than the hot dog. The hot dog was still good, crispy hot dog meat with the soft bun coated in melted cheese and grilled onions. About the same consistency as what I'd expect from a wrigley field area hot dog joint. I was hoping to get comped maybe a small bag of fries and even asked to try some for a review but the service worker said no. Overall due to the price and the customer service I would rate 4 stars. If you want to spend half the money I would just get McDonald's or Burger King for only a little worse of flavor. read more

My family always has difficulty finding a restaurant we can all agree on. For an early dinner (dunch) today we agreed on Five Guys. Portions are generous, reasonably priced, friendly crew. So far so good. My son wanted a three patty bacon cheese burgers with lettuce snd tomato ONLY, lg fries and an Oreo shake. I ordered a regular bacon cheeseburger lettuce wrap either grilled onions, lettuce, pickles, ketchup and mayo. My wife ordered a regular burger bowl with tomato, lettuce, grilled onions and mushrooms, mayo and mustard. The person taking my order was pleasant and the order was taken accurately, I reviewed the receipt to ensure this. I checked the order before leaving the store to ensure I had everything I ordered, I did. I did NOT open each burger to ensure they, specifically, were correct. My bad! When I got home we discovered that neither bacon cheeseburger had bacon on them. My son's burger that was only supposed to have lettuce and tomato had unwanted bonus ingredients of grilled onions and ketchup. My son and wife also said the fries were soggy, because they weren't cooked long enough. It would have been a 20-30 minute round trip to return to the store, so my family told me not to go back, and call the store after we ate. I did so and the best the manager could do for me was have me come back to the store so they could remake the burgers. That is a non-starter, unless he wanted to remake the entire order, While remaking one part of the order everything else gets colder and becomes inedible. read more

I had the Classic Combo - Five Guys version of trying to keep costs low, but the extra cheeseburger patty was an additional $3.50, bringing a simple cheeseburger, regular soda, and little fry to $18.49. Without it, the Classic Combo would've been $14.99, which is still expensive AF compared to Burger King. The meal itself was great. The burger was fine, and the employees were super friendly. Upon entering, we observed two customers - one carryout, the other dine-in - huffing and puffing about botched orders to the crew at the pickup counter. Not a good sign! The cashier who took our order seemed to be in a cloud. We had to keep repeating things. Upon checking our receipt, sure enough, he got the toppings wrong on one of the two burgers. We promptly notified a crew member, who alerted the kitchen. It made no difference, they totally messed up our order anyway. There was only one burger in our bag, and it was entirely wrong. We brought the burger and the itemized receipt to a crew member at the pickup counter. Did she apologize and fix the botched order? Nooooo, not only did this obnoxious moron claim those were the toppings we requested, she also insisted that we had just brought back the other burger! I had to summon the manager. In the end, the kitchen remade our burgers. Though apologetic, the manager did not offer to replace our fries, which had by then cooled off. Five Guys' food, though yummy, is overpriced for fast-casual. They don't nickel-and-dime you on toppings and they provide free peanuts. Still, their prices are comparable to upscale full-service pubs and restaurants. Our bill for two burgers, two fries, and one bottle of soda was $41.37. Turned off by the high prices and the rotten service, I detailed our experience in an online survey at fiveguys.com. That was ten days ago, and even though I provided my contact information I received no response whatsoever. When we crave griddle-style burgers in the future, we'll visit Superdawg or Culvers instead. read more

Personally, I took this L personal. It had been quite a few years since my return to 5 guys. I remember it being delectably delicious. Sadly, it wasn't as good as I remember. Five Guys is definitely expensive, but they do burgers right! Eating at their restaurants are always an "on occasion" event, but they have consistently delivered a burger that yields 0 complaints each time. Premium taste, no mess, and adequately filling. For this reason, I think that it is fair for them to charge the price that they do for their burgers. Their fries are also relatively good! That is one area that I can't justify the price that I spent, however. I've had better fries. Maybe my preference simply aligns with golden fries with a crisp moreso than the greasy option that Five Guys offers. The fries are a little heavy on the grease for me to want to eat the whole bag, but they are generous on how much they give you. So that's a redemption. Overall, I'm a repeat customer. Oh my God! The thought of visiting Five Guys made me feel very giddy! Giddy in a SpongeBob SquarePants type of way. Per, a conversation in my blog with Scott "Doc" A, a Yelper from Maryland, it was recommended that I try the cajun fries which prompted this visit and made me feel all giddy-like to try something new. I have always driven passed this location while visiting businesses near or while enroute to, or leaving work, but never really had that urge to visit until now. One thing I took notice of as I entered the parking lot, other than its spiffy looking exterior was its outdoor patio seating with umbrellas. Funny that I have never noticed it during my years of driving passed the restaurant or being in the area, but they have patio seating at this location. I visited the Rogers Park location years back, but I was more attentive at this location; taking in its decorative quotes and best voted accomplishments across America. Prior to ordering I thought to myself, damn! These burgers are expensive as hell! I certainly could not eat here regularly, plus, there are no combo orders; everything is separate! But little did I know how big the portions would be or the size of the burgers. I didn't just want to visit and order just cajun fries, so I ordered a cheeseburger w/ little cajun fries and a drink. Oddly, the kosher style hot dog caught my eye, but after deeply looking at pictures of it shared on Yelp, I passed on ordering it. I wouldn't mind trying one of the other hot dog options in the future though. Nothing short of great service and my food arrived in a timely manner which is all I could ever ask for with any restaurant visit. It seemed as though they gave me more fries than what the little, aka small consists of, but I am not complaining. If that was a little, then next time I will seek out a kid size portion if its available because that was a lot! I don't believe I have ever had cajun fries before, especially fries were as seasoned as these. Ketchup made them a little more tolerable to eat because I wasn't a fan of all that seasoning. Now that cheeseburger on the other hand was huge, and delicious! Eating made me realize why their food is priced the way it is because I wasn't expecting on eating a lot, but I was sure as hell primed at finishing everything. To conclude, I am happy that I made it out to Five Guys, but I would really like to try another location to see how they season their fries because that was the only thing I was slightly not fond of. Other than that, I enjoyed the cheeseburger definitely and wouldn't hesitate on ordering it again. If you live on a budget like myself, it is best to visit Five Guys once in a blue moon or I would say once a year because, man! One of the nicest and fastest Five Guys locations around Chicago. Placed an order over the phone at 930pm last night. Got there in 10 minutes and my food was ready and wrapped up for me! In terms of food, food is what your would expect from Five Guys. The kosher got dog done all the way was great. My father enjoyed his single bacon cheeseburger done all the way as well. Peanut butter milk shake was amazing! Ordered a medium fries, but it was definitely closer to a large order. My own critique on the fries is that it is a little too salty for me, but besides that they were good. Overall, great experience. Food is a bit pricey. Wish they offered some type of combos with their burgers and fries. Staff was great. Place was clean and their is plenty of seats and parking st this location! read more

There are very few valid reasons to poorly rate a Five guys location. Talking about service is a big factor and that is okay but lowering their rating because you don't know how to order, is plain incorrect. So read reviews guys, don't just write them. But I'll admit for any customer walking in off the street it doesn't make sense.. the word "little" before hamburger makes you think of a small serving. Versus what is known as a cheeseburger. In their terms its a matter of one patty versus two and most need only one patty. A little burger with a plethora of toppings is filling and the cost can be under or close to ten dollars if pairing your meal with fries is what you would like. In comparison to other burger bars, this is a big deal. Because most burger bars are far more expensive. And please for goodness fucking sakes stop relating this burger to Wendy's, or Mcdonald's (both operating nearby) you are fucking nuts. Fast food meat versus fresh meat can't be done. Neither fast food location can give you evidence that their meat is 100% pure beef or tell you what kind of meat it is. Five guys is ground chuck 80/20 and it's what? Never Frozen! Which is why the meat always tastes so damn good. Now, this is a truth which can be tasted only for those with graduated taste buds. Just sayin'. This location serves me Okay, although sometimes the dudes that work the counter can pay too much attention to pretty much any females entering the establishment. They are located on the outskirts of the mall, so if there aren't many walkers stopping in, it could be a slow day and they become far too eager to serve the next patron entering. Five Guys gas one of the best burgers around, and I am definitely a burger snob. I detest McDonald's and Burger King and only like fresh, quality meat, made to order. Five Guys is just that (never frozen, either), with a delicious array of toppings and fresh cut, Cajun fries! Delicious!! They also have free peanuts if you're into those. Today Jermaine waited on us, and was very friendly and pleasant, asking what brought us in, what we like, exactly how we like it, etc. It was early evening so it wasn't busy yet, and he and the grill cook (sorry I didn't get his name) talked to my daughter and me as we waited. She even commented on how nice and personable they were. Overall it's a great value for what you get, and I can't think of anything I don't like about them. Five Guys is much, much better than M Burger, which, interestingly enough, recently opened right across the street. My family went there once and haven't been back. So I ordered online at 5:04, supposed to be ready at 5:11pm. When I walk in at 5:12pm, the people who worked there had no idea there was an online order & I sat there till 5:25 waiting for my food. I can get over that, but that wasn't the only problem. I had a bacon cheeseburger and a weird grilled cheese on my order. The grilled cheese was very specific, and it was obvious they didn't read the added items because I got a grilled cheese with lettuce, extra mayo, and bacon. There was no mayo at all, and the lettuce and bacon were forgotten & put on top of the sandwich after it was made. This was obviously an "oh shit moment," and they should've remade the sandwich. The burgers here are pretty amazing and the service is some of the best. They have a great menu and plenty to choose form. The prices are very somewhat reasonable too. The location is super convenient and extremely cleaned. Their staff are incredibly courteous, polite and consistently on point. So I was in the mall, trapped in a sad, sub-par food court. So sub-par many had "cash only" signs or "$$ minimum" taped to the counters. I really hate that. I am so not going to an ATM and pay in fees what I would for a snack. I hate it so much, I opened my yelp app to Jacob's mighty fine review, looked out the window to see a bright, shiny FIVE GUYS glowing like a gift from above, hosannas playing audibly I raced downstairs and across a parking lot to buy a small french fry and a fountain vanilla diet coke. It started to downpour and I didn't even mind- the music was good, the employees pleasant and a yelp check in happened fast. They are so gracious here and take your card without complaint. It's been at least a year but I have to tell you for $11.60 a single burger with A1 mushroom and onion and a small fry is not worth the price the burger was paper thin and greasy there was more onion mushroom and A1 than meat.
