Culvers is always good, and this one does not disappoint. The parking lot is tricky, but the service and food is good!

I had a token and needed lunch so after a quick scan on Yelp, we decided to check out Ott Haus. And I was not disappointed. The building is cute and kinda small. It definitely had an older feel, kinda dive bar-ish but it was clean. They have bar seating, a handful of tables, and a beer garden area. It gets a little crowded pretty quickly so you may make some new friends if you share a table. The service was great and the owner was super nice. She answered questions and was very accommodating. They have New Glarus beer on tap, duh. But also domestics, cocktails, and soft drinks. I had a strawberry rhubarb beer from New Glarus and absolutely loved it. I also had a PBR which is my stand by. Based on the reviews, we had to try the cheese curds. They come with a dill ranch. They weren't greasy at all. They were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. The ranch was a tasty accompaniment. Highly recommend and would order again. For my entree, I ordered the Beer Cheese Bacon Burger: 1/2 pound burger cooked medium with beer cheese and bacon on a pretzel bun. This was probably my favorite meal of my Wisconsin vacation. The burger patty was delicious and seasoned well. The pretzel bun held everything together and paired perfectly with the creamy beer cheese sauce. The bacon was an added bonus. I opted for tater tots for a side and enjoyed dipping them in that extra beer cheese. This was seriously one of the best burgers I've eaten in a looooong time. It's probably good that I live 500 miles away because my waist line and wallet would take a beating. I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a drink and food. I will be back the next time I'm in town.

When we got to the Vintage Brewing we had hoped to sit outside but everyone else had the same idea. It would have been a 20-30 wait so we chose to sit inside at one of their high tops. The area was in the bar and roomy we could see everything that was going on around the bar but kind of in the way of the thorough way of the kitchen where food came out and where they get their drinks from the bartenders. Our server walked by often so we received great service. I ordered the Rueben, it was delicious I'm so happy the have found another so close to home. The corned beef was thick, with just the right amount of juiciness, sauerkraut, thousand Island dressing and the best marble rye bread toasted perfect perfectly. I ordered straight fries well seasoned. I also ordered their homemade root beer, I'm not a fan. It tasted more like black licorice than root beer. I'd definitely go back and order visit its sister establishment in Madison on East Washington Avenue.

Went out on a Thursday evening with my husband and a small group to see a band play on the patio…read more I am not at all familiar with Sauk City, but thought it looked like a pretty cute little town. It is located along the Wisconsin River a short drive outside of Madison. Vintage Brewing is right on the river, giving the patio a really pretty setting. The patio is large and has a great spot for bands with plenty of tables for the audience. We decided to order dinner while we were there. I am not a beer drinker so I ordered the Wisconsinite ( a blackberry brandy old-fashioned). It wasn't bad, but definitely more on the sweet side than I care for. We shared the fried cheese curds, which had a great flavor, though not the best I've had. I really enjoyed my blackened salmon salad. The salmon was delicious and the salad was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich. They had some fun swag for sale, and I came home with a cute pink t-shirt. All in all, Vintage Brewing is a cool place with beautiful location a great vibe. If you have a chance, catch The Sparks Band (a fun cover band).
