It's Lent season and when it is Lent season, I look forward to Culver's Fried Cod. I've lived on this side of the river for four years and this was my first visit to this Culver's. It so far off the beaten path, I forget it is here. I still get my ButterBurger fix when I am in St. Louis. I stopped in for lunch, after running errands in E-ville. As I stated earlier, it's Lent, so I ordered the Cod Dinner. It came with 2 pieces, crinkle fries, slaw and a dinner roll. It didn't come with a beverage, so I had to order one. Culver's has their own, Root Beer and I like that they offer it in a diet. So I'll let you guess what I ordered. My meal was hot and fresh when delivered to my table. When I broke one of the pieces of Cod open, steam flowed out. The slaw is better than the slaw served at KFC. The fries are crinkle, which is my personal favorite. I like how the ketchup hangs on to the groves in the fries. I didn't try the dinner roll, so no feedback on that item. Getting your soda is self serve. I'm not a fan of ketchup bottles on tables, so I am glad that Culver's offers small cups and a large dispenser for their guest. Little Cups of Ketchup are one of my hot buttons, so kudos to Culver's. The young lady who brought my food to the table was a delight, she was friendly and professional. When I was leaving, I ordered a small vanilla cone and the young man who prepared it, was equally as friendly and professional. They both deserve, gold stars. However, the reason for the 3 Star rating, is all due to the cashier. This young lady had the personality of a dirty dish rag. I cut her some slack when I ordered my meal, but when I came back and ordered my cone, she was just as bad. Cashiers are the front line and first impression of a fast food restaurant, they need to do a better job on who they put on the registers. ( March 5, 1:34 PM on Reg 2)

    those are "grilled onions"

this is literally the worst culvers ive ever been to. burgers are way overcooked. asked for grilled onions and opened my burger up to a sprinkle of burnt onion and half the patty missing.

First time in the Drive through at Culver's

I was in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon running errands and decided to hit the drive through at Culver's for lunch. The line was long and the parking lot for inside dining was nearly full. I have only been to Culver's a handful of times. The exterior of the building appeared neat and clean and there was signage through the property that told you about their menu. I ordered the Double Butter Cheese Burger meal and a strawberry shake ($15.36). The lady at the window was friendly and provided great service. The line moved quickly and, after paying, I was asked to pull forward. My order came out within a few minutes and I headed to my next errand stop to eat in the parking lot. The crinkle cut fries were HOT and fresh, could've used a tad more salt, but otherwise awesome! I pulled the burger from the box and took my first bite, and instantly realized that was maybe the top 3 best bites from a fast food hamburger ever! The strawberry shake was full of chunks of fresh strawberry and tasted great. I haven't been a huge fan of Culver's in the past, but after today, they may move into a more frequent rotation when I am in the area.

Four Piece Chicken Tenders and Fries

Just went through the drive through and took my stuff home. This is a picture of my Four piece Chicken Tenders and a side order of Fries. I got three Tenders and exactly 13 Fries. C'mon Culver's, Do Better. My 3 year old Grand daughter can count to four. So the tenders cost me $2.00 each and look & taste like they came from Sam's. The Fries were around 15 cents each and also may have come from Sam's. I give honest fair reviews. Mostly good, some bad. There is no excuse for this.

Culver's is pretty alright most days! Every once in a while I'll get a menu item that's not to my liking...or an employee having a bad day, but it can happen everywhere and it doesn't happen often here. The employees always seem so nice and happy to help and service your needs too. This location is pretty alright!

Sometimes you just want a quick hamburger. I use to love coming here for the fried chicken, but they quit offering it, so we don't come here often. The hamburger is always good and I love the crinkle fries. I'm not a fan of custard so I never get it. Service is always fast and friendly. I wish they would bring back the chicken though.

If we want a savory snack, the kiddo loves the crinkle fries, and I love the fried cheese curds.

In addition to the sweet treats, one of the highlights of stopping by and even driving by, is reading their marque. The messages are always, witty or supportive of another local business. I love it when local supports local. Recently, I had a Chocolate Covered Strawberry concrete and I liked it more than my typical favorite M&M concrete. The chocolate ice cream with flakes of solid chocolate and pieces of strawberry made my day. I've also enjoyed, chocolate and vanilla twist cones, but the orange sherbet and vanilla is still my favorite. I keep saying, I need to try their burgers, so I'll say it again. I gotta try their burgers. The restaurant has a nostalgic look and feel. The staff is young high school and college students and they're always friendly. They truly hustle and make things happen for their ice cream fans. Next time you're in Edwardsville, be sure to make a stop at Northside Dairy Haven.

Burger was excellent for the price. Ice cream was good soft serve. Service was kind and my food came out in about 10min. Kids were running around and family's were happily chowing down. It's a great old fashioned atmosphere. If you drive past this place, it's time to finally make the stop! Little hiccup: kids cone is 1.50 on the board but I was charged 2$. So check your receipt if you're pinching pennies.

[As of 30 May 2021]…read more Another outing for a sweet treat. RESTAURANT: This creamery is easy to get to, right down the road from SIUE. Keep your eye out for Imo's pizzeria because it's connected to it. The shop is spacious enough for a good size crowd. There is also a very large patio for outdoor seating and mingling. I would have figured there would be speakers posted for some light music. Patrons can enjoy the music of nature. STAFF: As soon as we entered, we were casually greeted by two ice cream shop workers. The cashier was able to easily answer my questions about the uniquely named flavors i.e. Bride of Frankenstein and Superman. It took only a few minutes for our ice cream to be served. FOOD: The wife and I ordered two small cups. She did the lemon bite with waffle pieces and strawberries. A perfect combination. The strawberries aren't loose and chopped, but a jelly. That's a nice change of pace! I got the trusted strawberry with M&Ms. Next time I'll go without those and do more strawberries! Nonetheless, it still was good eating. Take a drive out to Edwardsville and sit under the sun with a cool delight. fin.

Review Visit: June 1st, 2014…read more Annie's may or may not have any Frozen-branded custard on sale. While on one of our many trips to Edwardsville to hang out with our college friends, they casually recommended we try out Annie's for some sweets and delights. Next thing I knew, we were hopping in a car with our hangovers and hitting the road. Annie's, from what I remember, is like any other town's ice cream shack that is open year round. They offer your quick but yummy food options, such as: hot dogs, custard, sundaes, pie, and various other sweets. During our visit, we all snagged a few small things. Nursing some hangovers, we all gravitated towards the greasy offerings versus the cold stuff. Chili dogs were what we picked and snacked on, except for the one friend who was feeling 110%. She got some ice cream to go. The chili dog was decent but nothing to write home about. It definitely hit the spot. As for the interior, I don't remember much about it. The little that I do recall doesn't strike me as overly impressive but also not lacking. There were tables to sit at and ample room should it be busy during the summer hours. I wish I could have more to put in this blog post but since this was the only time we came here and it was after a fun night, this is all about it. Also, sadly, my friends have moved away from Edwardsville, but that doesn't mean I won't try to swing by it again on my way to St. Louis some day. If and when I do, I will try to update this post to reflect new photos and experiences.
