Super great concretes and food! I come here a lot for the ice cream, but this time I finally tried a charco cheeseburger after reading reviews and it really was delicious, as well as some great onion rings. Everyone was super friendly and helpful as we asked questions, and the place was packed. It seems like a great spot to hang out with family and enjoy the weather when it's not blazing hot lol. Not to mention, you really can't beat the prices.

The staff here are so friendly and the food is just as good. Everything we tried had a perfectly fried crisp and was packed with flavor. Reasonable prices and a ton of stuff on the menu to come back and try. Pro tip - everyone around me seemed to be getting ice cream cones with big smiles on their faces! They have parking in front and a drive through around the side or you can walk up and order directly from the counter.

Northside is and will forever be one of my favorite places to get a quick delicious meal or treat! They offer a huge selection of food items so everyone will find something on the menu they will love! The charco cheeseburgers are a MUST try! They also serve up a huge selection of ice cream treats too! The service is always quick and the staff is so friendly and ready to help! They have seating under shaded trees and umbrellas so you can even enjoy your treats outside! The owner is also so down to earth, funny as can be, and just a great person! This is one of the BEST food joints in the area hands down. They also keep everything SUPER affordable! Check this place out if you get the chance!

State fair worthy corn dog and fried mushrooms!

I ordered sliders on two separate occasions, and both times the burgers were cold. It was clear they wasn't made fresh. Very disappointing.

Love the little slider burgers! Brings back nostalgia feelings, burgers wrapped in paper for the win. The owner is pretty funny also!

Ask the Community - Northside Dairy Haven

Does the owner of Dairy Haven in Caseyville also own Northside Dairy Haven in Edwardsville?

No. They used to be owned by the same person, but were sold off separately. They both use the same ice cream distributor and share the same orange sherbet recipe. Other than that, they're completely separate.

Pro tip: definitely check their hours before you go--and honestly, just plan your day around it because it's that good. I was expecting your typical little coffee-and-sandwich spot, but it completely exceeded my expectations. They have a couple of parking spaces behind the building, and if those are full, there's a free lot about 500 feet down the road. It was pretty busy at lunchtime. You order at the counter, and they bring everything to your table. There's a mix of indoor and outdoor seating in various sizes, and the decor is adorable. I especially loved the maps--they make great conversation starters. I noticed several tables pointing out places they'd visited and swapping travel stories. The menu has a nice variety. I ordered the chicken salad on ciabatta with a side salad. The chicken salad had a strong dill flavor that I really enjoyed, and the ciabatta was perfectly fresh--not too tough. Next time, I'll probably pick a different side since the salad was basically just lettuce. If there was any dressing, it was super light, so I ended up adding some of the lettuce into my sandwich. The surprise standout, though, was the lavender lemonade--a total sleeper hit. It was scorching hot that day, and I wanted something refreshing, so I ordered it on a whim. Honestly, it was the best lemonade I've ever had. I don't usually find myself making a special trip to a café just for lemonade, but here I am. I'm not sure if it's seasonal, but I really hope it sticks around.

I have an 11 month old who needs to be buckled into a high chair because she wiggles. There were two chairs in the place. My husband brought over one, saying the other wouldn't work because it was missing the back leg support and was wobbly. When I went to buckle her in I noticed it was missing one of the buckles. We tried it for a bit but she wasn't safe so I held her for part of the rest of our meal. The assistant manager walked by and asked if everything was going good. I told him the food was great and then told him about the high chair issues. He admitted knowing that the one was missing a bar but thought the other one was fine. He took both to the back and before we could finish our meal he came out with the one that had all of its supports fixed with both straps and thanked us for bringing this to his attention. Great job taking care of all your customers.

Less than 5 minutes I got my drink, super delicious if you ever get the chance to try I also got a new food items, the pecan sticky bun & raspberry muffin looked too good to resist! I'm also a big fan of the 'day old pastries box' because I do try to cut costs when I can it's only $7 & I love the idea of getting a surprise! They're always delicious and taste like they were made that morning. I can tell they use real, quality ingredients for their food. I have issues sometimes with gluten and certain processed breads, but I really enjoy being able to have something sweet without all the extra junk! I got out with spending about $25, pretty good deal and better quality than most places! I like to support small/individual businesses when I can, I really believe you do get a better experience and product. Within the last month, Sacred Grounds has had a change in ownership. For some that is sad news, but…read morethe good news is that the new owners so far have been keeping the same high quality service and products. My recent visit was to take part of Javapalooza being sponsored by Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau. When it's warm outside, I enjoy my coffee iced. My go to is, Vanilla Honey Latte with whole milk. If you're having a latte, why not go whole hog and enjoy that whole milk. The rich fullness of whole milk, adds to the flavor. Looking at their pastry case, it was hard for me to choose. However, once my eyes saw the Pizza Scone, I wanted a savory treat over a sweet. The scone was full of flavor, but a little on the dry side. After a couple bites, the dryness did not bother me, because the flavor was so good. Scared Grounds is located on the Main drag in downtown Edwardsville, so next time you're in town, be sure to stop by.
