Going through the drive-thru on a recent Saturday evening, I had car trouble. My battery died as I got to the window to pay. The girl at the window was gracious and knew to call her manager over. The manager, who was also a young girl handled the situation with maturity and efficiency. She had a couple of the male employees push my car into a parking space. As I waited for a relative to to arrive , the manager came to my car with my order and told me to feel free to come in to get warm if I got cold. I was so impressed with the calm, competent and compassionate way the manager that evening handled that situation at a very busy time. read more

We don't have Culver's in our area so I decided to try. I had their famous butter cheeseburger and fries. It was good. The fries were average. My son had an ice cream of course and it was tasty. Had a small problem with my order. The staff were able to fix the issue quickly and were very graceful.

The employees were rude and service was bad and slow. We waited for our ice cream and it was soup when we got it. Also one of our ice creams was fingered. Another one had a grainy texture and there was more liquid in the ice cream than solid. Also someone asked for an ice cream that wasn't given and was denied the ice cream. Yes, i understand that there are mistakes. so we then went up there asking and telling them what they did, they proceeded to make us pay for the cheescurds instead of the fries. which i thought was ridiculous. Went to Culver's for ice cream tonight. Ordered a mini concrete mixer with hot caramel and cookie dough. The concrete mixer had peanuts, m&ms, and brownie pieces in it also which were not part of the order. Thankfully don't have any food allergies or sensitivities. Called the manager and he was not apologetic whatsoever and said it "happens all the time" - complete jerk on the phone. Don't recommend going here if you have any food allergies or sensitivities because they clearly don't care about cross contamination. read more

I normally try to watch what I eat. But life is way too short for some folks and we never know when the bus pulls up for you, so I stopped in at Culver's and had a triple cheeseburger with the works. WOW-that was one great fast food burger. I ordered just before the lunch rush at noon so the burger was hot and rearing to go. I passed on the basket meal so I did not have the french fries and soda. Twas a balmy mid-summer afternoon as I set out on the quest. I was in search of the elusive Shangri-La of the midwest. A place the natives call "Culver's". This destination has eluded me in my travels for over a decade, but this time would be different. On this journey, I would have the benefit of companionship. Two of my most trusted comrades in culinary arts, Mary and Katie, would attempt to make the perilous journey with me. With their guidance, we began our trek down the treacherous carpeted stairs. After we had made it safely down with nary an incident, we muddled our way through a confusing labyrinth of corporate proportions. With each step, we felt the danger grow and the tension was thick in the air. Weary and travel-worn, we navigated our way out of the maze. Our joy quickly subsided as we found ourselves staring down the dark cavernous abyss with no end in sight. Mary and Katie must have sensed my trepidation and began encouraging me to press on. Near exhaustion, they ensured me that we were close to our destination. I took their encouragement to heart and with each step we gained momentum until we erupted like a Yellowstone geyser through the abyss. We burst through a steel porthole which landed us onto a seemingly endless black plain. Oh the disappointment! We were closer than ever, but we still so far. The temperature was near unbearable, but this was the first time we glimpsed the sun on our journey. With squinted eyes stinging from the rays of light, I peered into the distance. Could it be? I could not tell if what I was seeing was real or if it was a mirage created by the heat emanating from the vast ebony desert. I looked at my companions, but not a word was said. Did they see it too or was I going mad with anticipation? As we crossed the black land it became clear. We had found it! We were there! The walls of the palace were as smooth as limestone and as white as fallen snow. The grounds were lush with thick green grass and the stone planters were filled with flowers that mimicked colors of the rainbow. The bleached walls sat beneath a glistening royal blue covering that gently deflected the rays of light, providing the interior of the structure a cool respite from the unrelenting sun. As we approached the portcullis of this wonderment, a single tear welled in my eye. We had made it. We walked side by side to the opening, and then one by one we filed into the cool innards of the construction. TRIUMPHANTLY! Once inside this mecca, we were greeted warmly by the residents of this alien place. Though I was a stranger in this land, the inhabitants made me feel as though I was the most important person in existence. After being greeted with a warm smile, they spoke: "Good afternoon sir, how may I help you?". I was astounded they were speaking my native tongue! Though they enunciated with a slightly different cadence than I, I could understand every word. Once my surprise and elation wore off, I requested a meal of fresh (never frozen) beef on a lightly buttered toasted bun. A single slice of delectable Wisconsin cheddar was placed atop the all beef patty and gently broke its form as it melted over the perfectly cooked meat. A mixture of ketchup and mustard were spread evenly and in perfect proportion beneath the beef. BENEATH! What a strange concept, but it was powerfully good! In addition to this fare, I also requested a strange treat known as a "frozen custard". It was the consistency and temperature of ice cream but it was not ice cream. Though the strange occupants named it a "concrete" it was soft, silky and flavored of peanut butter and fudge. DELIGHTFUL! Our journey to the land of Culver had taken so long that once we were presented with the fine fare, we had to leave this El Dorado. The people of Culver thanked us in our native tongue upon egress. Katie, Mary and I tightened our belts and began the trek home. Though the distance was vast, the journey back felt faster and less perilous now that we had achieved our goal. When we left the land of Culver we were heavy of heart and heavier with our vittles, but with each step our spirits grew as we enjoyed each other's company through many laughs and lamenting on the culinary goodness yet to come. As we arrived back home, we went our separate ways. Katie and Mary disappeared into their Space of Crawl, and I resigned myself to the Mahogany Row where I sit now. After thoroughly enjoying the provisions from the land of Culver, I sat reminiscing. Unbeknownst to me, I felt a wry smile slowly crawl across my face. Would anyone believe that Katie, Mary, and I found this mythical place now that the fruits of our labor have disappeared forever? The only evidence of its existence was in the grease speckled brown satchel that we brought it back in. After speaking with the owner it's easy to see why the food was cold, over cooked, and wrong. Issues: 1. cheese curds still frozen inside 2. Fries soggy and cold 3. Burger ordered with fried onions made with raw 4. Single burger made as a double. The owner said we gave you extra, guess what some people don't like that much meat on their burger. 5. Custard tasted like it has freezer burn All these things are forgivable as restaurants have a bad night. When I brought the food back the employee said no one was allowed to give refunds and the manager would call me back. The owner called the next morning with a million excuses and would not take ownership of any faults and made excuses for each problem. She said she wanted to send a coupon. She was unaware I brought each item back for a full refund. Again a lack of attention to communication between employees. She said she felt "insulted" and hung up. She must be hurting for $21.97. Three other customers had issues in the 20 minutes our order took to make. Take your business elsewhere to a place where they can accept mistakes happen and actually have a brain. read more

I would give it less. But, the food itself is good. I won't get custard there anymore, though. Yes, I know, custard does melt faster than regular ice cream. But when I order a turtle and it's handed to me through the window like soup, that's WAY too warm! Might as well have handed me a straw with it. Has happened a couple times. I Bought a salad a half hour before store closed. There were two very yellow cores of iceberg lettuce that my chicken was resting on and then the regular lettuce and other things that they put in the salad. I called and informed the manager and he apologized. He did not offer to replace the salad but to mention this to the owners. He then took my information and a week later I received a coupon for $1 off a salad! I paid $7 for a cup of lettuce and a piece of chicken and they sent a $1 coupon. We were very good customers as my windows not eat fast food and will only eat Culvers. I'm rethinking spending $20 a week at this location. read more

I was in a hurry and had time to drive through front quick salad. I ordered and waited. The time on my grill slip was 1:54. I got a salad with frozen and clear lettuce. I drive back around and tell the girl at the window. She took my salad and talk to a manager. She came back and begin to explain how their lettuce is stored. I told her if that's acceptable to be served, I want my money back. I was told to once again Park and wait. I waited for a while. The manager came out with a new salad. She apologized and gave me a token for a free dessert. She said I had to wait a long time because she was stuck behind the grill. She once again explained how their lettuce is stored which is causing it to freeze at the bottom. The salad she made still had clear and Frozen lettuce in it. I basically picked it out and ate a quarter of a salad. They insisted I eat their low quality food instead of refunding me. I told the lady at the window and the manager I was late and wanted a refund. Neither one of them cared. I did not leave the parking lot until 2:22. I am very late for what I have to do and this has caused me some problems. I will never return to this Culver's again. read more

Horrible for Friday Fish Fry during lenten season. Expect a 1 hour wait. I normally love Culvers. I used to work at the Culvers in Jackson and have a knowledge of how they are generally run. This is by far the worst Culvers within a 25 mile radius.The seating arrangement is terrible and it holds about half the people as other stores. It overcrowds quickly Went there on Ash Wednesday and there was nearly a 1 hour wait. The cook was telling the manager to stop taking orders, but they continued to nonetheless. After waiting 40 minutes for our meal with my wife and two toddlers, I went to the manager and asked for a refund so that we could leave. He took my receipt and walked away and started taking other orders. 15 minutes later, he came to process my refund, at which time, our food was now up, so I took our food. The fish was by far the worst I have ever had at culvers. The french fries tasted like fish, and the burger was cold. The soda was basically water and the trash was overflowing. As a former employee, we used to tell people if the wait was over 20 minutes. However, at this store, it seems the manager doesn't care about customer service, but just the bottom line. I'd give it a 1, but I typically like culvers and thus maybe it is better during non-busy hours. read more

I visit Culver's when I'm hankering for a greasy burger, reuben or ice cream treat. The custard is too sweet for my taste so it's rare. And its already melted and dripping all over in my less that a mile drive home. They rarely cook the reuben's enough and the food it always falling apart messy. The point of going to Culver's is to avoid having to cook and clean up but that never seems to happen. read more
