Food was really great, fries were hot, service was great, and they have diet root beer that was so good.

While I was on a business trip in Wisconsin, I kept seeing commercials for the Culver's restaurant chain. It makes sense too, because this restaurant chain had its first opening in the state of Wisconsin. After checking out their menu online (www.culvers.com) this seemed like a delicious place to eat, so I decided to stop at this particular Culver's (Middleton, Wisconsin) to try this restaurant chain for the very first time. This year, Culver's is celebrating their 40-year anniversary, so they've obviously been around for a long time. Unfortunately, I have never experienced this restaurant chain because there are no Culver's restaurants located in my home state of California. I was happy to try this restaurant for the first time, especially in this restaurant's home state of Wisconsin. For my very first meal at Culver's, I decided to try their Double ButterBurger with cheese, with large crinkle cut French fries and a soda pop (Sprite). I ordered the ButterBurger because it appears to be one of the most popular items on their menu, and most likely the burger that contributed to their incredible success. The ButterBurger that was made for me was delicious and filled with flavor, and they cooked the French fries that came with my burger perfectly as well. This restaurant seems to have "Culver's fanatics," and with good reason. Culver's is one of those few fast-food restaurants that places a priority on quality, and toward this end, they make their burgers with the best cuts of fresh beef, including sirloin, chuck and plate, with no fillers. Their burgers are also pressed and seared so that it locks in the flavor. All this differs from most other fast food restaurants nowadays that make their burgers from frozen beef patties, often with fillers. I could tell the difference in the freshness of my burger at Culver's, and I'm sure that many other customers can as well. Their ButterBurgers also have a uniquely distinct buttery taste, and is wonderfully seasoned by a Culver's grill master. I had an enjoyable experience on my first visit, so I decided to try another item on their menu on a different day while I was in Wisconsin. On my second visit, at this same location, I ordered their fresh cod and cole slaw, along with a side of onion rings. Again, the cod was excellent; it was very fresh and nicely cooked, as were the onion rings. And of course, I couldn't leave without trying some of their famous frozen custard, so I ordered a chocolate concrete mixer. The concrete mixer was incredibly delicious, and it was so rich it took me two days to finish it off! My two visits to this location in the summer of 2024 were both enjoyable, and I look forward to trying more meals at this restaurant chain in the future. read more

Culver's introduced Curder burger as a limited October special. Last year I wanted to try, but missed. This year I made it a priority and tried it out. I liked the Curder burger. It was a butter burger with a cheese curd patty added. Cheese curd patty was crispy. It could have been a bit more cheesy in the middle. My favorite item is still spicy chicken sandwich. It had good flavors and fried crispy. I also went for a caramal cashew sundae and loved it. Sundae had a ton of cashews. I went for a fanta float as well. It was ok. I think root beer float would have been better. read more

Came with nephew last week as he wanted concrete mixer. For those who don't know what a concrete mixer is, think of it like Dairy Queen's blizzard, Sonic Blast or even McD's McFlurry. Something creamy, delicious and HIGH in calories :) We each got a two patties butter burgers and fries/onion rings. Patties were never frozen and tasted good. It's fast food and don't have high expectations. Overall a good quick meal and desserts was the highlight. I love frozen custard and only wish Culvers offers more fruity flavors than it's almost always chocolate/peanut butter. I only dream there's a Kopps nearby instead of driving an hour to Milwaukee. read more

As a whole I am a fan. As I've written in other Culver's reviews. Today I'm less impressed, and I was surprised that I'd be writing these words. Today I tried a big fish sandwich as it was essentially the only item on the menu I've never experienced. I've had the deep fried cod meals many times and was always reasonably happy with the quality. They were not bad and good enough that I'd get the meal when I wanted fish n chips. But the sandwich version was horrible. Unseasoned. Completely flavorless. Because (I'll presume) it sat in a box for my 3min drive home it immediately became a soggy mushy glob I couldn't finish. But because also, the order came up very quickly, and carried to my car, that's suggestion it was made before I'd even ordered it. A very busy time when I arrived, about 6 cars could be seen from when I joined the queue. 3 remained at the moment I gave my order. The Ruben I also ordered was pretty much as I'd remembered, also reminding me it'll be a year or two before I have another, something I last did for st paddy's day last spring I think. Extremely greasy, saturated with clarified butter, and once wrapped in the paper, doomed to disappoint. I'm realizing if I order either of these items in the future I will be setting myself up for a stomach ache. So todays lesson was don't do it again. I'll be sorry. This is my first meal in Wisconsin and it was pretty good! The staff was very friendly and the drive-thru pretty crowded. I ordered the double butter burger without pickles and it was my first smash burger. There was quite a bit of butter leaking out but honestly the veggies & beef patties tasted very fresh. First stop in Wisconsin.. Culver's! I had heard about Culver's before, and have always wanted to give it a try. What better way to kick off my first ever trip to Wisconsin. We're staying at a nearby hotel, so we made the easy 15 min walk down Parmenter. Things I noticed right away.. clean, a lot of very friendly staff, and an overwhelming number of delicious menu items. We ordered a spicy crispy chicken sandwich, double mushroom Swiss burger with bacon, and the Rueben to share. We also made a last moment audible to add fries and onion rings! $21.. not bad! While we waited for our food we began filling our water cups and collecting condiments.. enter Will. This man is a gem, Culver's made the right choice hiring him! He's kind, funny, and giving. He checked to make sure we had everything we needed, offered and got us hot sauce from behind the counter, and even checked in on us once we had our food.. don't let this man go! My Culver's experience lived up to its expectations! The food was fantastic, and even an hour later I'm feeling good (no fast food indigestion.) The chicken was fresh/hot, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and moist. The burger was fantastic, clearly fresh beef patties! The Rueben..... the BEST I've had- and I'd like to think I've had some killer and authentic Rueben's in my lifetime. Oh also... the frozen custard, fantastic! I'm a fan of this chain restaurant. This Middleton location is probably the easiest for me to get too. I like the chicken strip value meal. Upgrade fries to Onion Rings. I can usually find a dollar off coupon somewhere (back of my women's basketball ticket or newspaper). It's just a nice filling dinner. Usually the staff is super friendly and professional. I'm not a huge fan of Culver's food but occasionally stop by for their custard and that is delicious or a cod sandwich. I visited this restaurant (Parmenter St.) on Friday, Oct. 21st. I usually order the cod sandwich with gluten free bun. Whenever I order this they Never remember the tartar sauce. When the runner brought our order to our table usually they ask if we need anything else. Not this time he put the food down and ran off. Ok, but where's the tartar sauce? Annoying. The tables were not wiped down. Carpet hadn't been swept in a while. Ok, I know they are a little short on help. But here is what I witnessed as I had a direct view. A worker (a young man) brought over a bag of plastic lids to refill the cup cover dispenser. About 30 of them fell spread out on the floor. I continued to watch him as I wanted to see what he was going to do with those lids. I was hoping he was going to toss them in the recycle trash bin. NOPE! He proceeded to scoop them up and stocked the cup cover dispenser with them! EeeeWwww!!! There was also a half roll of cup covers wrapped in plastic that he left on the floor. I picked those up when I left the restaurant hopefully someone found them. I said to my husband "in the future don't ever take a cup cover." I will think twice before eating at Culver's in the future. Please train your staff to toss lids that fall on the floor. read more

I ordered the "steak dinner." It wasn't steak. It was two burgers joined together with gravy and onions. They missed my second side altogether. And to top it all off, my son's cheeseburger had a long, blonde hair in it. Ewwww! I called and they said that the steak was "kinda false advertising." 'Ya think? This Culver's location is fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a somewhat more modern vibe than other fast-casual chains. The food is what you expect but it is executed well. Culver's famous Butter Burger is a great step up from classic fast food options like McD's or BK's, but isn't at the same level as Red Robin, In-N-Out Burger, or Five Guys'. That being said, it is still delicious, and, since there are Culber's restaurants all over Wisconsin, it's convenient. The real reason to go to Culver's is for their custard. Concrete mixers are where it's at, and, if you're not careful, you'll move to Wisconsin 40 pounds lighter than when you move out. read more

The fish is absolutely wonderful. I mean you know what's good there the custard and yeah the Butter Burgers are freaking awesome. But ever since I've had the fried cod I don't want to order anything else when I go to that place. And then I ate so much of it that I don't have any room for the dessert anyway. The food here is pretty much just like every other Culver's that I've ever been to. It's a chain, it has to be that way, so I don't really care. The cheese curds are good in theory but their deep-fried heavenliness will vanquish your appetite pretty quickly, and then you won't be able to enjoy your greasy, cheesy, mayo-ey burger. Venturing away from the french fries is generally not a good idea. The pork tenderloin sandwich is godlike. The tenderloin is about twice as big as the bun that it's served on. I feel like this is my own little secret since I've never seen anybody else ordering or eating it. Now the cat is out of the bag. This place recently did a renovation with a bunch of fake stone veneers and trendy curvy decor all over the place. Not bad, but I preferred the previous "nursing home meets McDonalds" vibe they had going. They did manage to improve the layout slightly so that the soda dispenser is no longer right in the way of where people are waiting for their to-go orders. It still gets pretty nuts at lunchtime though, so prepare to drive around the parking lot a few times looking for a place. One personal complaint I have with this place is I keep seeing old high school classmates working there. I pretend not to recognize them. read more
