Tequenos

Okay let's just talk about the Tequenos!!! What was that!!! Warm, gooey, tasty and savory in the best possible way! Tequenos is a golden cheese stick wrapped in wheat dough. It's crisp outside and soft/gooey on the inside. Comes with a garlic sauce which tasted DIVINE! The combo was so addictive and I regretted just ordering 1 plate - it was worth so so much more! I will be going back just for the Tequenos! Drool worthy!!

10/10 the food was so good I went back a second day and this time took my son. He also said it was sooooo good. We sat there and ate it while it was nice and hot. One of the customers let my son try one of the Tequenos and it was amzaing so we got an order of them as well. The staff is friendly, the location isn't bad. But the food is the star. The meat you can tell is slow roasted and seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be back yet again.

Met Orlando the owner very friendly, he explained the menu to me I had the #1 Shredded beef, fried plantain, beans and rice, what a got tasted great, the arepa was light and fluffy, and the flavor profile was awesome, I had the sugar cane and lime drink which was very tasty

We went in for a yelp event and then ordered extra. My husband got a cachapa and we shared yucca. Both were delicious. I love the garlic sauce! I got an arepa as part of the yelp event (complimentary). I am attaching a picture so you can see how yummy it looks. Longer wait but worth it.

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful! Orlando, the owner was extremely kind and helpful when we were trying to decide what to get. It was our first time here and we will be back. We got the vegetarian arepa, tequeños, traditional cachapa, pabellon arepa, caballo bowl, and the parchita juice. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. The green sauce that comes with the tequeños tasted amazing on everything! You can tell Cumaco puts so much love into the food; it tastes very authentic and full of soul and flavor. The meat was seasoned perfectly. Everything was perfect!

Went here after someone recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was so delicious and filling. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating and nice decor. Servers were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Food was so good and authentic! It came out within about 10 min of ordering and the sauces were killer. That garlic sauce was amazing! The decor is really nice too. Will be back!

Stopped by their food truck at a recent convention. Unfortunately, they were located right next to a popular food truck so the line was a bit obscured, but it was one of the quickest lines. It deserves more visibility! I got the beef bowl which came with beans, rice, plantains, and shredded beef. It took 15 minutes to get the food. This meal was filling. The beef had a rich tomato flavor. It was shredded, and it wasn't dry because of the sauce. The black beans. Well with the textures of the other items. The plantains were my favorite part because they were soft and sweet. The rice was a bit dry. Everything together made a perfect bite. It was $16. Pretty standard food truck price. I'd try their arepas next time. They had good options for vegetarians.

Cumaco Arepa House is a little establishment on the corner of 96th and Allisonville. I've known it was here for quite a while, but for some reason never visited. That changed today! The inside if bright and cheerful, with plenty of seating.. It was clean on the inside, but you coule tell it might need a little bit of cosmetic work (some chipped paint on the walls). However, that didn't stop me from wanting to dine here at all. I ordered the Catira Arepa. It contains their shredded chicken and cheese, inside of a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside area. It was steaming hot and freshly made when it came to me. The first bite gave me an immediate smile. The chicken was well seasoned, and the cheese mild and creamy- perfect filling for the arepa. I demolished it quickly One arepa was quite filling, but I found myself already picking out what I'll order next time I stop in, because I 100% will be visiting again.

My son and I have been wanting to try Cumaco for months, and yesterday we found ourselves nearby, hungry and with time to stop. After this visit it's going to be on a regular rotation for us - yum! We split an order of Tequenos which were delicious- especially with the garlic sauce - that stuff was heavenly! Then, I just had some rice & beans while my son enjoyed the Pabellon Arepa. My rice and beans were amazing- I love how such a simple order can have so much flavor when well prepared. The Arepa was filling and tasty. All the ingredients blended nicely to make for a hearty meal. The service was friendly and efficient. Two thumbs up all the way around!

Cumaco is bringing Venezuelan food full of vibrant flavor and love! I'd seen this place for a while, but always on the way to somewhere else. Finally I decided to make it my destination and I'm so glad I did! The moment I walked in the door there was a vibrance and energy to from the music to the decor. I started out with the tequeños, which are Venezuelan cheese sticks...the owner said any party back home that doesn't have these isn't a good part! lol! Well, I'm glad they know how to party cause these were soooo good! Crispy, not oily, and the garlic salsa added its own layer of flavor without overpowering. Then I had their famous arepa bowl! You're not gonna find this anywhere else! All the delicious makings of an arepa in this crispy and golden arepa bowl! The meat and black beans were so well seasoned! I can't stand when international food feels stripped of its unique flavors to please suburban palates...that is not so here! The owner, Orlando, and his family are blessing Fishers with bold and brilliant flavors! Make it your next food destination!

They situated us in a room that was quaint enough for our party and our table was rounded so we all could connect. We were seated around 7:30 pm. We placed our orders for drinks and then our meals. When we got our chips and salsa we had to ask for napkins and when our dinner finally came we had to wait for silverware. I guess they were dirty so we couldn't eat our hot food because we had nothing to eat it with. We were fine with to go silverware but that wasn't offered to us. This went on for about 10 mins! After everyone got their dinner I was still waiting for mine. By the time my quesadilla came out everyone was almost finished with their meal. Again, I had just gotten off work so I was trying to be patient but my meal came out extremely late. Liz apologized for the inconvenience but I was not happy how they handled the situation. It gets worse. After I get my food and I'm halfway through it, I bit a piece of plastic that was in my quesadilla. I showed Liz and all she said was, "OH" and took the plate with her. No acknowledgment of what just happened and what I had showed her. If you've followed me for a period of time, you know I appreciate great customer service and this spot was horrible. Even if the food is trash I would still go back and try it again if the service was great. This place is a hard no for me. The unfortunate thing is that if I had acted crazy, yelled and became angry, I'm sure they would have addressed the issue. Not one manager came out while I was waiting for my food, when we waited for silverware or when I showed them the piece of plastic in my plate. At this point, I was extremely disappointed and I'll never patronize a business that can't take the time to address clear issues. When she brought out my bill there were no apologies, they actually charged me for something I didn't even order (tomatillos). Overall the food was flavorful but the service was not good. After we got our bill, Liz never came back to check on us. I guess after getting the gratuity from us having a big party we were no longer a concern. There are some amazing Mexican restaurants that value nice patrons and when you have a problem, at the very least, they will have management acknowledge it or address it. Completely disappointed with our experience. Side-note: I added the salsa to the queso because the salsa was super watery and I tried to thicken it with queso but it didn't work. My bill was around $30 including my drink, meal and the gratuity. Not bad for a girls night out but we'd rather be treated like valued patrons so we will definitely go elsewhere.
