FIRST, I have NOTHING against Dr. Boyd! It is her optical staff, on the other had that deserves…read morethis review I have always in the past used online, mail order glasses companies, to save money, after receiving a good refraction exam. However, this time, however, I decided to opt for the optical staff there for my frames and lenses. The final cost was significantly over $300 as opposed to the cost of online companies that never went over $100, frames and bifocals combined. The time to get my glasses was about the same, so nothing wrong with that wait. However, that is where the differences begin. When I picked up my glasses after waiting for 3 weeks for the glasses, the person, supposedly, fitting them put them on me, didn't check the actual fit, asked if I could read the card, which I could, sent me on my way. The bifocal part was supposed to be for my laptop computer. IF I tilt my head backward, I can see the screen - the line on the lenses is a good 1/4" lower than that on my old glasses. So, neck pain! When Ingot home, I realized that the fit of the temples was wrong, cutting into my ear, so I had to bend them into an even worse fit to be comfortable. Fast forward to today. it is a 16-mile trip one-way, which I don't mind if I get the service I need - I DIDN'T. When I walked into the optical area, two women were chatting, personally. One asked me if they could help, I said I had a couple of issues I needed to address. I was told to have a seat and 'someone' would be with me 'shortly.' It was close to their closing time and I was the only customer, so to me, shortly meant in 1-2 minutes. WRONG. I could hear 2 women in the back laughing, comparing photos of children and jokes. They were that loud. After 7 minutes, I got up, walked over to the desk where the 1st two women were sitting and chatting, I said, clearly "I will come back when you are less busy." As I walked out, they made no effort to stop me and say, one of the others would be out, NOW. It was as if I had not been there or said anything. I seriously do not want anything to do with this crew. Best case scenario is to get my money back upon the return of the glasses, get a written prescription along with a separate one for just computer glasses as the bifocals I have discovered will not work at all for my desktop computer and call it quits. Otherwise, I will just hope to get the written prescription(s) and go somewhere else and eat the cost of these glasses. They can work as a very expensive spare. I would hope that I will be able to continue seeing Dr. Boyd, but after this review of her staff, I am not holding out any hope for that.

My last experience that…read morereally proved this to me was an appointment I had..a 6 month follow up visit... after having cataract surgery on both eyes. My appointment was at the new office in Crossville at 2:10 PM. Somehow I got the time confused & arrived an hour early. I was in pain & was about to leave to come back later, when I was stopped and told that Dr. Galloway would work me in early. This he did indeed and was able to help me very much. He thoroughly checked my eyes and gave me a prescription for a medication that did it's job. I still have some light sensitivity with my eyes, but nothing like it was. After my visit with him, I saw my family practitioner and realized that my Type11 Diabetes had really gotten bad & my diabetic Neuropathy was affecting my eyes. With her continued help and medications, I'm doing much better with my eyes. I will soon be making my annual appointment with Dr. Stewart Galloway. He's the best!!!

Truly stupid stuff, which they didn't track in my last two visits. That allowed them to bill the medical insurance instead of the eye insurance. They then passed the cost to me. So a normal comprehensive eye exam, which should have been zero cost, was suddenly $78.90. They also added other costs which should be covered in a comprehensive exam. What should have been a zero cost to me was a $114.30.

Sure I understand precautions but this is ridiculous. You didn't act that way when you took my money. Covid was around then too. Luckily your competitor was kind enough to back YOUR shoddy work and fix and adjust my glasses using USP and PPE as the CDC recommends all free of charge that same day you felt it necessary to schedule me 4 days out while unable to see and treat me as if I was pulling a fast one on you.
