In plain view of all passing children and adults. Really??? I AND MY FAMILY ARE NOW BOYCOTTING SHELL WESTPORT. We now purchase our gas just up the road with the friendly and community minded co-owners Jay & Bob at Phillips 66 service station (485 Post Rd E.). I was left waiting for an order that had already been canceled without my knowledge. This is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious breakdown in Stop & Shop's customer service. Why offer a service you clearly cannot manage or guarantee? Had I not called to follow up myself, I would have been left in limbo indefinitely. There should be a basic system in place to notify customers of any order delay or cancellation, along with a reason. From a technical standpoint, this is not difficult--you already have customer contact information, including email and phone numbers. To make matters worse, after this failure on your end, I was forced to resubmit the order, make an additional payment, and now wait 7-10 business days for a refund or credit on the canceled order. Upon paying, their credit card machine malfunctioned so he took my mother's credit card to another register to the front of the store and charged her over $14 (she called her bank), wouldn't give her her receipt and made her feel very uncomfortable while she tried to ask her receipt.
