For the past 10 years, he experienced neuropathy on all limbs, dizziness, headaches, etc. We saw all types of doctors to figure out what was going on - cardiologist, neurologist, and pulmonologist. He got numerous X-rays and MRIs. He even had fusion surgery done on his neck because we thought the cause was due to a budging disc - that didn't do anything. We were also patients of Blue House at the time. Due to a change of insurance, we switched to Renov Dental Group. On the very first visit, Dr. Yi pointed out something unusual on the Xray. She referred my husband to Dr. Gray who further identified issues with my husband's narrow airway (result of lower jaw surgery in his earlier years). My husband ended up having jaw surgery again. It's been 6 weeks and a lot of the symptoms he suffered in the last 10 years appear to have subside. Out of all the specialists we saw, Dr. Yi was the one who identified the root that no one else was able to. We are so thankful and grateful to her. She is truly talented in her craft, diligent, and has genuine compassion.

She informed me that the crown she did had a chip in it and asked me what I chewed on and If I knew it was there?? I told her I didn't. I didn't have any pain . She said it needed to be redone and it would cost me 1400+to get it done! I said it had barely been a year since she did it and they should fix it. They've done 4 root canels and permanent crowns in the last 4 years and totaling more than 7k. Nothing like this had happened to any of the other ones. It's impossible not to eat and chew. But for this to happen within a year is not good. Now they want to charge me 1400+ to fix it. They should make me whole. Obviously the product that they made this crown with was not as good as the previous ones. I have been going here for 5 years plus but now I feel like they are making it my fault because I chewed something that made this hairbrush happen. She also informed me that after having crowns I should go to the dentist every 6 months to make sure everything is good? I've never heard of this. Yes I should go get my teeth cleaned every 6 months to a year but that's my prerogative. I loved going here but I feel like I'm being ripped off and won't be going back.

Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist left me absolutely sick over the carelessness and disrespect of my time, money, and resources: I was very transparent when I first contacted Ever After Dental regarding the poor experiences that I received at a previous dentists office and I provided all of my insurance information well in advance before physically visiting the office. The receptionist verified that their services were covered under my insurance, and we even had an email correspondence where I verified that I did not need to complete the out of network authorization paperwork because it did not apply to me. I scheduled the suggested follow up services, then received a predetermination that stated the doctor was out of network. I contacted the insurance and subsequently Ever After Dental: ultimately the receptionist was able to contact the insurance and verify what the insurance said is true in less than 20 minutes with no additional information from me, but could not do that prior to my visit. When questioned as to why this wasn't done prior to my visit despite my providing all of the information required and having the email correspondence regarding this explicitly, she could not take responsibility for her actions. She kept asking what I wanted out of this conversation and I had to explain to her that I needed to know her negligence was the reason I wasted an entire days worth of sick time for this visit that wasn't going to go anywhere. I spoke to Silvia, the office manager, who assured me she would contact our insurance and provide an estimate. Days later, she emailed me a quote that raised red flags. When I checked the exact procedure codes on my insurance company's website, I discovered she was charging the full 70%--which is what insurance is supposed to pay--directly to me, the patient. This made it seem like they were billing both me and the insurance the same amount, potentially engaging in double-dipping. When I called the Glendora office to get clarity, the staff said I had to speak with Silvia. She wasn't in, but the front desk casually explained that "this is just the price we feel like charging," and if insurance pays more, they'll refund the patient. That's not how transparent billing or honest medical practice should work. I tried contacting Silvia again, this time at their Claremont Smiles office. Not only was she evasive, but when asked to explain the pricing, she suddenly claimed she needed to speak to the regional manager, Ariana. When she finally responded via email, she said my son needed to come in person for an estimate--over a week after I originally reached out and after acknowledging my son's pain. She refused to proceed unless he repeated a very specific sentence she demanded, even though I had already explained the request clearly. I am extremely disappointed with the care I received at Barosum Dental in Upland. My experience…read moreleft me feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, and ultimately traumatized. While I was out of town on July 12, 2026, I developed severe pain on the lower right side of my mouth. As soon as I returned, I scheduled an emergency appointment for July 15. I also had a previously scheduled deep cleaning appointment for July 16. During my emergency visit, the female dentist appeared to minimize my concerns. Instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, she asked whether I had seen an endodontist for a referral from a year earlier and questioned a shadow in my gums that had existed for over 30 years on the opposite side of my mouth. I requested X-rays, and a 360-degree scan was performed. After reviewing the images, she told me everything looked fine, that I had no cavities, gave me Sensodyne toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, and said I was cleared to proceed with my deep cleaning the following day. Later that same day, the office coordinator called and told me they wanted me to see the endodontist before my cleaning. I went to the appointment, and within five minutes the endodontist identified a cavity. My primary dentist confirmed the finding and recommended that my wisdom tooth be extracted. I was extremely upset that my condition had been missed during my emergency visit. I asked to speak with the female dentist who had evaluated me, but she was unavailable. I scheduled the extraction for July 17, 2026. Because I had previously had a successful experience using nitrous oxide during another tooth extraction, I requested it again to help manage my anxiety. I was numbed for the procedure and was told I was receiving nitrous oxide, but I never felt its effects. I noticed the dental assistant was on the phone for much of the procedure, and it appeared that no one ensured the nasal cannula was properly positioned. I informed both the oral surgeon and the assistant that I did not feel like I was receiving the nitrous oxide, but my concerns were dismissed. I remained anxious throughout the procedure, and the extraction was ultimately unsuccessful. I left the office emotional, traumatized, and deeply disappointed. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. As healthcare providers, listening to patients is essential. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and felt they were ignored every step of the way. I will not be returning to this office. I also plan to verify that my insurance was not billed for procedures that were not completed, including the deep cleaning and the unsuccessful tooth extraction. I hope this review encourages the office to improve communication, patient care, and attention to patient concerns so that others do not have a similar experience.
