Great place for a nice brunch with friends! Very hide inside with seating options as there are couches on the side for those that jut wanna place to chill with a coffee and read a book or table tops on the main dining area. Went there this past Saturday with friends and glad that we got there when we did because the line just kept growing lol. I got the Sweet Potato bowl and added some smoked salmon to it and did not regret my choice at all. Flavorful, healthy yet, satisfying. And the pastry display caught my attention (as it always does anywhere I go) so just had to snag their newer item...the Walnut Chocolate Chip Banana bread which was a nice way to end this brunch. This is going to be a nice go-to brunch spot in downtown Evanston for me...and apparently the rest of Evanston from what I saw lol. Popular spot and I see why. Great location, great food and great ambiance.

Nice place for breakfast and coffee. I enjoyed my soy latte and it was quite peaceful at 7am on a Saturday. It's started to get busy by 8am. It was my first time here. The young woman who took my order was not the friendliest and she was the first person I encountered so I didn't have a great initial impression. However I liked my coffee and the seating was comfy.

This place was a great start to my morning! I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich called the number 5, it was savory and delicious! It was my ideal serving size too. I paired it with their banana energy smoothie. Super clean, bright atmosphere and fast service! I think they expect it to be busy on weekends so they'll help find a table for you while you're ordering at the counter which was nice! Had a great experience during my visit!

Nice coffee shop with solid, quality food. Staff is friendly, and keep the place clean. They have both tables and lounge areas. Outlets and USB ports in the outlets are available in some areas. Pricing for the level of quality is quite good. Ambiance is nice and good for meeting with someone or working. So why four stars? I was charged a different price at the register than was shown on the board for my drink, and some of the lounge chairs/sofas have staining that should be addressed. Other than that, solid choice. One last note, if the parking right outside is full, finding parking can be a bit tricky so plan accordingly.

As other CUPITOLs, the Evanston location offers various coffees and teas, baked items, soups, salads, sandwiches, brunch items, and even shared/large plates. We came here to get a caffeine fix, and we ordered: +the Inca Latte +the Chai Latte with oat milk +a Latte with almond milk +an Almond Croissant +and, an apple pastry Drinks could have been served more hot, as requested; pastries were tasty, but silverware could have been provided. The eatery was spacious, with plenty of dining chairs and seating areas. Metered street parking can be found in the area. +good pastries +metered street parking available

Love this place. Their European granola bowl is my go to item here. I also get their hash browns because why not? I love their teas as it's a french press glass - lovely. Their croissant with egg and bacon is really good too. The chai latte is delicious too. My favorite cafe in Evanston and I'm so glad they opened one up in Skokie at the Old Orchard.

I really liked this. Nice to have a full breakfast but within a coffee shop vibe setting. Staff is really nice.

This is such a cute bakery in Evanston! They have great coffee and a huge selection of both savory and sweet pastries. I wish I could try them all in my visit! I tried the Cinnamon Brioche that had some cinnamon icing on the top, and the brownie. Both were delicious, but if I could only get one, I would choose the Cinnamon Brioche because of how soft the bread was. Cant wait to check this place out again!

I got a chance to go to this cozy brunch place today. I ordered their cinnamon roll and a cup of cold brew. The cinnamon roll was amazing - there were sweet pecans at the top, and the bread body was neither too dry nor too moist. I spent two hours inside studying with my laptop, and the vibe there really boosted my efficiency!

Great brunch spot in downtown Evanston! A bit on the pricey side but the service is speedy. The food was really filling but oddly enough, not very tasty. For the price, I wouldn't say it was worth it but I'll try something else next time and see if it was just what I got.

We stopped by here since we were staying in the area. Very good vibes, lots of different places to sit. Not a very friendly staff. The girl who took our order looked annoyed to stop stocking the pastry window to take our order, but it was pretty early when we got there so giving the benefit of the doubt. Was not a fan of the chai, but the iced caramel latte we got was great. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Would return, for the food and the coffee, just not the chai. Their stocked pastry case made me want to try so many other things.

Listen, that's home. Chi-Town is my home... born and raised. Even though I'm from there, this time I wanted to experience Chicago as a tourist, without our kids, who are now young adults. The decor was totally vibey, divey, and all the things. They had real plants, and since I'm a new plant mom, of course I was loving every bit of that. I'm like, okay! Monsteras up in that joker piece! They also had fresh flowers on the tables, which was such a nice touch. Our waitress was phenomenal! Because I waited so long to write this review, I don't remember her name, but I'm telling you, she was amazing. She treated us like tourists, okay? She listened when we explained that we were doing the Chicago tourist thing and gave us the full experience. I loved that she took that into consideration, so kudos to her! There was also a young girl celebrating her birthday with her family, and it was so adorable watching her little sister run over to their family members. The whole place just had such a warm, welcoming, at-home feeling. We truly enjoyed ourselves, and I even walked away with a shirt because I loved the ones the staff was wearing. It was the perfect little homage to my hometown. Honeybear Cafe, we will definitely be back!

The hotel had been renovated since my last stay - my wife and I stay there every few years when we go to a conference in Chicago. I have family in the north Chicago suburbs, and the Orrington is centrally located. The room, small by modern luxury standards, was immaculate. And I'm picky. It had all the amenities we needed as well as being close to Lake Michigan for morning walks. The free internet had 200 Mbps downloads, but one of our four devices (two Windows and two iOS) couldn't log in. We dined at the hotel three times, twice for breakfast in the Land and Lake and once in the Evanston Corner Bistro for dinner. The Land and Lake had great food and service and competitive prices ($15 omelets). You can see the skeleton for the building and the support columns that dictate the wall placement and ultimately limit size of the rooms. The Corner Bistro has a very long bar and offered outdoor seating that was perfect for an August dinner. I can confidently recommend the duck special and glass of pinot noir. The beds slept well, room service came daily, and on Tuesday, there was a manager's wine and cheese tasting. I was impressed with the wines that were poured and the cheeses as well. I recall sparkling water, smoked cheddar, Comté and Manchego cheeses, with Pascal Jolivet Loire "Attitude" sauvignon blanc, a Davis-Bynum pinot noir, both very good, and a quotidian red. The sales manager, Kagan Greenfield, was pouring the wine, fielded our questions, and made our stay so much more pleasurable - is a great source of local advice. And finally, the Cubs won two of three from the White Sox in the crosstown series with their only defeat sadly on the day we went to Wrigley.

It's about $15 for a sandwich, which is a lot but it's great stuff. I got the Vegan Club. This has avocado, along with plant based versions of bacon, chicken, and mayonnaise, along with lettuce and tomatoes. She got the Vegan BLT. This is almost the same thing but simpler. Got to say it has limited hours and space, which are the bad things about it along with it being expensive. It's got a lot for breakfast and lunch. From the very beginning, we knew FFT was the right vendor for us because they took our favorite foods and crafted a completely customized menu perfectly tailored to what we enjoyed and what we envisioned for the event. From there, they then worked with us to refine the menu as we kept coming up with crazy ideas. We literally emailed Anna about how we had just tasted a delicious Oreo brownie and she had it added to our desserts right away. We also wanted a very custom bar menu, and they worked with us to get us all the different brands we were looking for, going so far as to drive to Indiana to source some of them. The other aspect of their menu that made such an impact was all the interactive food stations. Everything is so creatively presented and designed. At our tasting, Anna had literally taken elements of our décor and paper goods and other motifs and woven them throughout the presentations from custom serving trays to glass designs. Everything felt intentional and thought out. Guests were constantly praising this attention to detail. Every station had some element of action to it as well, making everything feel like a unique experience. In all of this, the food was all delicious. We wish we can eat and experience it all over again. We still dream of Chef Arlene's Guava and Cheese Empanadas. Throughout the process, Anna was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. One thing we wanted to highlight was that we wanted to be very careful with allergens. Despite the high number of dishes, Anna did a fantastic job working to highlight all the possible allergens in every item, taking the request very seriously. We also wanted to praise the service for the actual day-of catering. They had their full team there, and the professional service was fantastic from top to bottom. Our guests praised the food endlessly, and people who were planning their wedding wanted to know all the background details into our catering choice. That is just more proof that Food for Thought was the perfect caterer, and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Someone else had fresh grapefruit juice, which they loved. Someone else had an iced mocha, which fell flat. The pancakes were quite good. The waffle dish we had with blueberries and all were good. It was probably too sweet with all the things. I think I would have enjoyed a normal/plain belgian more. Then we had a veggie, squash, and tofu special, which was good.
