    Ambiance!

Good breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Tasty coffee options. A variety of dietary options. Fun/weird ambience. You order at counter. But food is brought out, servers were attentive. A little pricey for what you get though. $80 with tip for 3 people with lattes and OJ. So keep that in mind.

What a gem! I have celiac (gluten free) and they had a ton of gf options! I got the strip mall bowl and an iced matcha and it was so filling I had to take leftovers! It's very refreshing to see a place be so firmly itself and its beliefs, with reminders about the servers' pronouns and political messages throughout. Definitely a community spot, lots of regulars and it's clear to see why. Expect a bit of a wait on weekends, but it is very worth it.

We had an impromptu brunch here and love a good shaded patio. They were okay with pets and the food came out quick. We ordered for two ppl and got Golden chai, Salted Carmel latte, The bestest sandwich, and The best sandwich all for $47. They have GF/Veg options available and overall the food was seasoned well and the eggs were fluffy. Plenty of parking options and seating inside and out. Would recommend!

First of all, everything about this place is amazing! The food & drinks, the consistent mutual aid efforts, the moral backbone of the owner & staff, the community engagement & support, the welcoming atmosphere, comfortable dining experience, and more... I enjoyed a knockout spicy peach sammie on a bogo deal so I could enjoy one for me and drop off one for the community fridge! And 5% of my order total went to two families affected by ICE abductions! I also scooped 5 ICE spotter whistles for free to pass out to my crew. Love this place !!! Not to mention I once placed a large order and received a surprise free take-and-bake cinnamon roll kit that was absolute perfection!

Inclusive and tasty place for breakfast/brunch. Many vegan options and non-pork for folks like me. It's a counter service place. Place your order, find a seat and it will be brought to you. Everything is made to order. Modern pop hits plays on the speaker and funky art and witty quotes line the walls.

Got breakfast here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. Definitely kid friendly, and the staff are super sweet. We got our food quickly, and it came out as it was made which is always a benefits when you have kids. The place is cute, LGBTQIA friendly, pro-Palestine, incredible. The food... very good, but I think I liked the vibe more. I got the breakfast burrito with smoked bacon, I think I wanted less egg more burrito ingredients like beans, salsa, something along those lines. It was more of a breakfast wrap. But a VeryVery good breakfast wrap. My partner got a Shakshouka breakfast sandwich which looked and tasted great. Lots of flavor is what I am told. My kiddo got a donut, tempered hot cocoa and loved it all. Great New Orleans style coffee, wonderful environment.

It's not often you find a place where the food, the people, and the politics are A1-but at Smack Dab they've got that down. As a first-timer I got a free sweet treat, Mariah was on the speakers, biscuits were seasoned just right, there was ample seating, and the portion sizes were surprisingly on point. You've got a regular in this chick.

We finally found it! An eatery with a big heart and strong values and we loved every second of our time there. We came on a Sunday morning and grabbed a table for two. The best part about Smack Dab is that you can order at the counter and take it to go or grab a seat--super flexible! We opted to grab a seat to eat our cinnamon sugar dougnut, coffee, golden chai, and two biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Every sip and every bite was delicious and fresh The decor was eclectic and homey - perfect for Sunday brunch. You have to visit! It's a must!

these breakfast sandwiches are insane. everything is so fresh, the bacon jam compliments the flavors so well, and the biscuit is super soft

Tucked away into a nondescript strip mall along N Clark is my new favorite cafe. Smack Dab is a local joint with a lot of character. And most importantly, their food is fantastic! I got the special of the day: the Latke Bagel Sammie, a bagel sandwich stuffed with a housemade latke, fried egg, sour cream, pickled onion, cucumber and smoked salmon. Lots of flavor in a packed breakfast sandwich! I also got to sample the biscuits and gravy bowl. Yummy! Most importantly, I got a cup of Cafe du Monde coffee (my favorite!) and got a few fresh scratch donuts to go. What a meal! This place is legit. I love to see local places like this, cooking fresh and serving it up. And based on the regular flow of customers, they're doing it right. Can't wait to visit again. If you haven't tried Smack Dab yet, you're missing out!

Free parking and free wifi + a lot of seating make this a great place to eat and get some work done. I ordered a bestest seller and a gold latte for breakfast. The food came out relatively quick. The sandwich was okay. I think it would be better with a sunny side up egg. I also think the biscuit makes it a very heavy breakfast sandwich, so I only ate one half of the biscuit. I had my daughter with me so she ordered the mini donuts and a side of bacon. These donuts are on the small side and run nearly $3, but they are made in house. The staff were friendly so I'd come back to try something different.

Heard these were the best biscuits in town and it may be true. Ordered at the counter, which felt A little stressful with so many delicious options to consider. Loved every bite! You order at the counter and fortunately we were able to find a table inside. Our food was ready quickly and it was so good. Highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, and working remotely!

RIP Quiche: June 2019. Came back for a bit in 2022. Lovely outdoor Patio though!

I never left a review? OH MAN forgive me! Smack Dab is an absolute neighborhood GEM: A casual but trendy, modern and inclusive café with phenomenal breakfast / brunch sandwiches, small-batch hand-made donuts, killer specialty lattes, and just the sweetest most amazing owners and employees. I have been visiting off and on for over 4 years now and took it for granted that I must've left a glowing review ages ago. I love the ambiance: cozy and clean, relaxing and trendy. The interior has grown over the years to allow for more seating (proving how popular it is with us locals), including the lovely outdoor patio. The food is excellent: I think the size actually increased. I appreciate the multiple options for different dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose intolerance, etc.), but also, it's just gourmet and *delicious.* And, the menu changes seasonally, which is fun. The March Special Corned Beef Sandwich was DREAMY and I love the seasonally inspired cake donuts and baked goods. (Shout out to my past go-to's, the Quiches with side salad and I Bee-lieve her Lattes, which sadly are no longer on the menu. ) Smack Dab are great people: They have an email newsletter, offer multiple coupons and deals, rewards points, does Pizza nights (or used to do these, at least?), and charitably FEEDS THE COMMUNITY. HIGHLIGHTS: Specialty Lattes, Breakfast Sandwiches, Cake Donuts. Great value Combos available at times! (Thanks for extending the Northside Restaurant Week combo deal $20 for Bestest Sandwich, Latte, and 3 Donuts!) Seriously, everything is pretty freaking awesome, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, or just Coffee and hanging out.

Free donuts for our first visit ever!
