I'm a tourist and was biking around Bainbridge Island and decided to stop here for lunch. It was pretty empty, service was nice and the ambiance really did take me back to Thailand. The Thai playlist was really good. The decor was really cute. I got the khao soi and shrimp tempura. The presentation for both were very nice. Portion sizes were decent, and it tasted really good. It is okay affordable compared to where I'm from, but it seems average for Seattle.

Came here with friends and right up front - if you're visiting Bainbridge Island and want food without a huge wait (if it's remotely nice out) come here. Venturing off the main strip of the island where all the restaurants had at least a half hour to 45-minute wait, our neighborhood host recommended we check out Sawan. This turned out to be a great choice as this place had plenty of seating and walked right in and we're seated for our party of 4 no problem. Started off with some shrimp spring rolls. These were good and fresh tasting, but there seemed to be some size inconsistency with the shrimp. Not a terrible thing, but just something I noticed. The peanut sauce was great. I had the Yellow curry, with chicken. A go to favorite of mine. The chicken was a bit bland tasting even with it being submerged in the curry. The curry itself however was excellent. Could taste the coconut and Spice. It was the perfect temperature. It was chock full of carrots and other veggies which were good. Service was alright. She was nice and attentive but forgot a friend's extra rice she requested. It was fine as she wasn't charged, and the server was apologetic. Overall, though Sawan was good and would surely recommend for a Thai fan visiting the area.

Came here to escape some of the crowds on the main drag of Bainbridge. This was a delicious choice! Since I love Thai food I was excited to try it . First off the menu is huge! They have lots of noodle dishes, veggies, and curries to choose from. I went with the peanut noodles and veggies with your choice of protein. I chose tofu to keep it plant based. This was a very tasty dish. The noodles are extra wide rice noodles and taste very fresh. The service was very friendly and it was super quiet on a Saturday afternoon! Would recommend 10/10!

I really enjoyed our visit here today! We got here for an early dinner so parking was easy in the parking lot. Food came quickly and service was very attentive and sweet! Loved the food too it tasted very good. We loved the mango ice cream on sticky rice. Noodles were cooked well and seasoned very nicely too. The restaurant was well-lit and loved looking at the wall decor!

I could probably have licked my plate clean on every meal that I have ever had there. Generally, there has always been excellent customer service, and all the things that you would expect from a great restaurant. However, a couple of days ago I had a really bad experience. I live pretty far away, and there are thai restaurants closer to my home. Sawatdy restaurant is a twenty mile drive in one direction from my home. Yet, I will patronize it every now and again to bring business to her restaurant and because its been my favorite. I don't think I'll be going back. This post is not to discourage anyone from going. The food is generally amazing. And again, the service is top notch. I drove all the way to the restaurant a couple of days ago and ordered three things. The stuffed wings, a pad Thai dish, and drunken noodles. The bill was $75 and some change. The food portions were amazingly large, which is always good when you get your money's worth. From the order, the chicken wings were exceptional. They were outstanding very delicious as they have always been. However, the two main dishes, one for myself and one for my sister were absolutely disastrously bad. They both were like they had been either cooked earlier in the day, and left out for too long, or overcooked. On both of our dishes, the meat was really bad and the food was dry. In my nearly twenty years of going to the restaurant, it's never been like that ever. We couldn't eat them. And both of us can eat just about anything! I called and because the owner knows me, we had a great conversation about me coming back to the restaurant and getting the two dishes made again. Knowing that I live twenty miles in one direction away, it was gonna take me a few days to go back. Maybe even a week or so. We had an agreement that I was counting on to get the two dishes redone, but not the stuffed chicken, of course. When I called today saying that I was going to drive back for the two dishes I was told that they would only replace one. I had two dishes that were severely overcooked or dried out, or old. One dish, the chicken wings were delicious.I didn't want to refund. And I was told they would only replace one. So I went back and I got the one dish, which was the drunken noodles. And it was absolutely up to par.It was outstanding as it should have been the first time. Fresh meat fresh noodles fresh everything! I've included a picture. I'm disappointed though, because i've always been a patron of the restaurant who's never complained about their food. I've always elevated the food to my friends and colleagues and I've even brought people to that restaurant in the past. Getting one dish replaced when two dishes were bad does not sit very well with me. So I will go to the restaurants near me in Poulsbo and Silverdale instead. And we'll forget about and say farewell, to what was my favorite Thai restaurant in Kitsap County. Yep it's the principle of the thing. Paying nearly a hundred dollars for the two meals to be terrible. Explaining that they were knowing that i've never done that before or had that experience in twenty years, and to be only provided with one dish as a replacement is just not okay. Now we will close this by saying that was my only bad experience in twenty years. And I know everyone loves that restaurant. And I do recommend that you patronize it. My backing out, and choosing to take it off my list is a thing of principles.

All are welcome in this lovely little treehouse of a restaurant. Seriously though, this is a great spot for people-watching during the summer months. After you order food, they will begin making the magic happen. You can then take in the sights and sounds of Bainbridge since you're sitting on one of the busier corners of the island (total guess, I've only been here twice but it seems accurate). You'll see people from all over the world with a tiny backpack with just enough supplies for a day trip. Emmy's seemed like they had a good amount of meat-free options, so we decided to indulge for our only meal during our trip. Little did we know that EVERYTHING ON THE MENU was vegan! This made the experience super fun because I was trying dishes that I've been eating since I was a kid, but veganised. I've never seen a restaurant try to make a meatless sesame chicken, but they nailed it here. The sauce was really what makes the dish taste just like the original. The chicken isn't exactly chicken-y, but it has a nice texture and tastes wonderful. I'm not entirely sure of the name of the next dish we ordered, but it was some sort of kebab-vermicelli-bowl-situation that sounded too interesting NOT to try, and I was right! There are egg rolls layered throughout this thing that are DEEPLY fried and almost have a mashed potato consistency inside. They seem very untraditional, but I looooved the addition to this bowl. The kebab was a surprising twist on a vermicelli bowl, I almost had a hard time believing that this wasn't meat! This was an outstanding order, but definitely needs to have sauce applied liberally to be consumed at its highest power. I love what Emmy's Vege House is doing in taking a multitude of cuisines, fusing them together, and then making them vegan. They're creating an atmosphere where anyone can come eat and be welcomed with open arms in Bainbridge!

It was a busy night and we brought our 1 year old son with us. We placed our orders while waiting in line outside (this is their standard process it seems), so if you are looking for a slow relaxed meal this might not be it - but the wait is worth it. When we were seated they had a full set of children's dinnerware (tray, toddler utensils, bowl) which was very impressive. The servers were all so friendly with our son which was delightful. The changing station in the bathroom was also very nice, with a soft cover, and they even provide wipes and other consumables you might need. The bathroom was very clean as well. Oh and the food is absolutely delicious! The dipping sauces for the chicken were all so good, and the texture of the chicken was perfect, moist and tender steamed chicken. The grilled chicken was also very juicy. We also loved the thai lime tea, a variant of thai milk tea which balances the sweetness with tangy/bitter lime. Very refreshing! We will definitely be ordering takeout/visiting the restaurant again!

We really appreciated the latter since many pho places do not offer one or both of the latter. I order the chicken pho and my girlfriend the tofu and veggie. Both were delicious and filling, and they provided plenty of additional ingredients to put into our pho, as is typical of pho places. The pho was served in metal bowls, with clean chopsticks, spoons and forks provided at the table. At one point Thuy herself came out to chat with us, which was an added bonus. She was so helpful answering our questions about the food, and even gave us a much-needed lesson on how to pronounce her name when we asked.
