at least spell it right if you're gonna mock me.

I stopped by the Curbside Creations truck during the Folk Festival a couple weeks back. It was Saturday night probably around 8 p.m., so they had a full day of serving the crowds already. The line was quite long and they did a good job of moving people along. One guy was walking through the line taking orders, which would've been more helpful if they had printed menus to review. I had seen their menu elsewhere previously and knew I wanted to try the chicken sandwich, but didn't know the particulars of it. I ordered it when he stopped by. When I reached the front, I specified no tomatoes on the sandwich, so the guy taking orders up there wrote my ticket as "girl who loves tomatoes." It just seemed like a fairly weird and rude thing to write when he didn't know me or why I requested none. In this case, I just don't like tomatoes and wish they weren't always on everything all the darn time. But peppers? Get super sick each time I try them. Food sensitivities are a thing. With tip, my sandwich was somewhere around $12. It was good, yes, but $12-good? Probably not. If it's a double-digit sandwich, I think it should come with a side. That goes for any restaurant, food truck, etc. I didn't get the best first impression from this truck, but I'm not against trying them again in the future on a less busy day. I'll just try to order an item that makes more sense economically.

Man oh man, their food was awesome. So good that I'm writing a review less than an hour later. The Po Boys are made perfectly and served looking just as good as they taste. The crab balls make you want to indulge, not to mention the dipping sauce it is served with...Sooo delicious!! Definitely would travel to get food from this truck, it's worth every penny.

I had a chance to try out Curbside at Food Truck Wednesdays at the county complex near Mimms Loop. I had to go with the alligator po'boy sandwich when I spotted it on the menu. I really got a fair share of alligator! The po'boy came with lettuce, tomatoes and chipotle sauce. The sauce was a bit too spicy for me, but it wasn't anything some tartar sauce couldn't fix. I loved that the pieces had a fish like consistency for some of the bites, and a chicken consistency for others. I'm just a sucker for all things alligator since I don't get to have it too often and it tastes great. My lunch went with a couple of hot dogs from this truck and enjoyed them just as well!

Visited this food truck last night at the Hardywood Thursday night Food Truck Event. I had never tried this food truck before but they had plenty of options and seemed reasonably priced. I got the chicken tenders and fries basket and my BF got the shrimp boy boy and some how our total was $19 which seemed a bit steep to me for chicken tenders, fries and a sandwich - the po boy didn't even come with fries. The BF said the sandwich was good (was missing cole slaw though) and I was really happy with the chicken tenders but the fries were kind of lame, not much flavor and thin/crunchy ones. RVA does food trucks really well, so that is why I only gave them 3 stars. There was nothing paticurlarly wrong with our food, just better options out there!

    These guys are amazing

Just had a Philly Steak and it was amazing... cooked perfectly... and the bun was very soft and absolutely delicious... so glad they came to Hickory Creek today... you have to find where they're going next and try them out!

My first experience with this food truck was at an outdoor wedding. The food was great, I had a choice between a BBQ slider, bacon/cheeses fries or crab balls. I chose the crab balls and they were yummy.. Piping hot with a spicy sauce on the side. They were so good I wanted more but there was a limit at the wedding so I had to settle for one serviing. I look forward to the next time I see them so I can have more!

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!

There is a huge empty booth right in the front across from the hostess stand, no one was sitting there, we asked if we could sit there for just a moment to cool off in the AC- we were rudely told no we had to wait outside. The next family in line included 2 elderly women and a baby all dressed gorgeous, they also were told they had to wait outside in 105 weather. After about 20 minutes of waiting, (I was just going to tell them to forget it) they said our table was ready. Well, instead of inside with AC as we requested we were seated in a gazebo porch area that they claimed had AC. By this time we were so desperate for cool, we didn't argue that we had requested INSIDE not whatever this room was. It ended up being like sitting in a tuna can. So uncomfortable, my husband and bro in law just went and sat in the car with the AC blasting. Waitress was sporadic to put it nicely. Meanwhile, back inside the booth across from the hostess stand was still empty. Food was fine. But I don't think this place will be around much longer.

It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. My kids have been asking to come back pretty much since we left the restaurant.
