Shrimp and Grits with a Strawberry Lemonade mimosa.

Food here is absolutely great! The team in the kitchen is on point, something about it makes it feel family-owned, regardless of whether it is or not. The restaurant stays busy but the servers stay on top of it, and the place always looks clean and tidy. Great team all around.

What's good Yelp Nation, This has become my wife's and I favorite place to eat when we are playing hookie from work. The food has been great the last two visits. The pancakes are fantastic. If you love real diner pancakes this is the spot. I love thin fluffy pancakes. The French toast is great too. The potatoes are very good and seasoned. They have to change the orange juice and they don't have maple syrup. PLEASE GET MAPLE SYRUP! PLEASE GET FRESH ORANGE JUICE! The service has been great both times we have been to the restaurant. The food comes to your table fast. The ambiance is great a very relaxing vibe. This place is perfect for the family or a date.

Greek Scrambler - delicious, with 2 pieces of rye and grits.

Food was delicious and atmosphere was lively and upbeat. Portions were decent and we left full, content and ready to start our day!

Eggs Up Grill has quickly become one of my favorite places to grab brunch locally!! My family and I have tried almost everything on the menu with our favorites being the eggs Benedict!! The staff is always so friendly and eager to please. Check them out.

The worst waffle ever. This is what happened when I tried to add butter. This is the second waffle they attempted to bring me

The food came out fast but that's because everything was burnt to death. The back and somehow the waffle. The bacon was replaced and edible but the second waffle looked just as horrible as the first. The waitress was nice but didn't offer any alternative (biscuits, pancakes, something!). She did comp my bill but I left almost as hungry as I went in. I could've had better food at McDonald's .

    Melty Cristo

Food was delicious. I got the Melty Cristo sandwich with fries (comes with a spicy honey drizzle sauce) and hubby got the Cheesesteak Melt with home fries. My sandwich melt was good, although if I were to order it again I would probably ask that they only put turkey on it instead of both ham and turkey since the ham was already thick enough. Hubby said the Cheesesteak melt was wonderfully delicious and he would definitely get it again! (Boston cream donuts to-go) -delicious! Service was great. We went around 11:00 am. So the morning rush had died down but there was still a fair amount of people inside.

The food was ok. The service was excellent, top notch at best. And the restaurant was pleasantly mild toned. Just a normal Sunday morning having breakfast at a new place. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, and they were a little under cooked. My bacon was under cooked as well. My potatoes were good, and my pancakes were a bit on the thin side. You would just have to go and try for yourself. The menu is bigger than expected being that they offer breakfast and brunch for the time they are open. Don't take my word for it, go try them.

    Founder's Hash Benedict

I had a craving for eggs. This looked like just the place to satisfy. I had the Founder's Hash Benedict. Fluffy poached eggs over corned beef and English muffin. The hollandaise was not to buttery to over power the eggs. Add their famous home fries and you have a great start to your day. Brittany's smile was the topper. The restaurant is bright and airy. I plan to come back, the menu had so much to choose from.

Eggs Up Grill is a very cozy place to grab some breakfast. We went after my youngest son performed with the youth orchestra group at St Paul's Baptist Church. The food was filling and there are plenty of options to choose from. I was impressed with the different options of tea they had available too. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and you can tell she actually eats there. I'll definitely be going back to try different things they have to offer.

To those of you who rated 1 star. You have some issues. My fiancé and I traveled from Illinois to visit family. We got hungry the morning of our drive back and seen this nifty place. Highly recommend. Great hospitality. Great cooking. Great Christmas music. Great vibes. Highly recommend. This IS my happy place

If you just order the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast, you're only gonna get that and bacon or sausage..

Took a second to be seated, but aside from that, great service! Abby was very attentive and polite.. Food didn't disappoint, I got French toast and added a few eggs (which you'd kinda think came with it) and I have no complaints.. Definitely a family setting, with plenty of space!

Caramel Cinnamon Smile French Vanilla Latte

Eggs up grill was truly a delight to experience. My boyfriend and I arrived at 10am on a Sunday and had our food by 10:15am. Excellent service and staff were super nice! We started off with the Cinnamon Caramel Latte which mostly tasted like milk with cinnamon in it. I probably would not get again, however the French Vanilla latte was really good! The best part of our two dishes was the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette with pepper-jack cheese. It was very flavorful and we're still thinking about it the next day. The pancakes were average but the eggs scrambled with cheese was perfection. The environment was very clean so that was a plus as well. I'll definitely be back to explore their menu a bit more.

This is an overpriced waffle house. The food was not good. Clearly employees work there because they need it not because they are happy.

Another friend ordered a burger, which arrived overcooked with burnt buns. Overall, everything tasted as though it had been prepared ahead of time and left sitting on a hot plate or reheated in an oven before being served. Nothing tasted freshly made, and the quality simply did not match the reputation or expectations. Sadly, this was a very underwhelming dining experience, and I would not return or recommend it based on our visit.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. You can't miss it. Step inside and the corner location pays off -- gorgeous afternoon light pouring through a row of vintage stained glass set above the front windows, throwing color all over the pink-and-white interior. Chandelier with little fabric shades, topiary along the ledge, counter seating to watch the street. Charming spot. One small heads-up: the menu is a digital screen, and it wasn't working when I visited -- so you're ordering a bit blind, leaning on the bakery case and whatever the staff can tell you. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing going in. And you're really here for the baked goods, which hold up. The kouign-amann was the standout -- deeply caramelized, lacquered, shatteringly flaky with that signature sugar crust. I also grabbed two macarons (a berry-pink one and a teal with chocolate filling) that were exactly right: crisp shell, chewy center, generous filling. No complaints. The case is stocked with range -- lemon bars, quiche, chocolate cherry walnut cookies, confetti sandwich cookies, Florentines, a vegan peanut butter option, pineapple upside-down, and more. Plenty of GF and vegan labeling, which is nice to see. You can watch them pulling fresh trays from the proofer behind the counter. A few other notes: it's a small operation, so selection depends on what's come out of the oven that day, and the working area behind the counter is tight and a little cluttered (charming, but not polished). Corner parking is street-only and that intersection gets busy. Bottom line -- a genuinely good Richmond bakery with real pastry chops and a beautiful corner space. Get the kouign-amann before they sell out.

It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. Upon initial bite, it really tasted like a really well constructed burger. It was a double patty burger with white cheese. You don't really taste the jam. As you're chewing, the peanut butter comes out and it really makes the bite more creamy and definitely tastes of peanut butter. Overall, I would recommend fat boys for sure.
