I had an amazing time! I haven't had an extreme cut in a very long time so i was nervous, but Ashley comforted me well and let me know it was going to turn out great. She listened to what i wanted and followed the pictures i showed her and specifications I wanted perfectly. She took it slow and gradual like i asked since i was nervous and even recommended a good curl cream for my specific haircut. As long as you don't go on Saturday this is an excellent place to get your hair done. The reason I don't recommend Saturdays is because it seems the styles other patrons ask for take longer than usual and you will wait way longer than your appointment time. The upside is that it is located near a good Korean or sandwich place if you want to eat while you wait. read more

Glad I persevered and called a second time, this time reaching an actual person on the other end, who had no problem fitting me in the next day, on a Saturday afternoon. I'm so pleased that Giovanna was my stylist... she was sensitive to my needs, though I told her not to worry, I'll never freak out over a haircut... there's a lot of room for error I think, it all grows back. But I was very specific, I mean, summer is around the corner, I swim practically every day, and I have naturally curly hair that I like to blow out straight if I am going out. So... I want a severely layered, textured, thinned out 70s shag...and GO! She was meticulous, and took her time... and nailed it, and I promised... I'll be back to her! This edgy Salon is located in a busy strip mall. Everyone that I've interacted with in the salon is very friendly and very helpful. Don't let their edgy demeanor deter you away from getting your hair done as they do all types of hairstyles. They have really cool artwork and the vibe just feels laid back. You can book for an appointment from the link on their Instagram or website. I personally have been seeing Chelsea. She does a great job communicating the expectations and price, so there's no surprises. Right now they have two wash bowls, but it seems that everyone flows at the right time so you're not waiting too long to be washed. They are looking to add additional bowls, but they have limited space. When you go there you must visit the restroom just because of their toilet paper wall! I thought this was the funniest thing ever. They also post photos on their Instagram wall and story. The vibe of the salon was nice, everyone seemed to be friendly so that's a plus. It was easy to schedule an appointment. The salon is easy to find as well. **For the natural hair girlies** Back in December I called to make an appointment after being referred to John. The service that I booked was a silk press. I was told that John did silk presses. When I arrived, John told me he did not do silk presses but I went along with getting my hair straightened because I saw his work and he stated he uses only a flat iron and not a hot comb. The flat iron was preferred since I had not put heat in my hair for over a decade... so I hesitantly proceeded. I HAD thick thick thick 4C hair and when I was done being straightened my hair was so so so thin and I couldn't understand why. About a week later I wet my hair so that it can return to its natural state. My hair was/is damaged. It has completely lost its thickness and has become translucent in the light (my hair was never like this and I want to reiterate that my hair was THICK). A month and some change later, going into two months, it is still the same. It's lost all of its thickness and is still super thin, even in natural styles. I personally wouldn't recommend him if you have natural hair because it will be damaged. He told me that he used a heat protectant but I only remember him lightly putting something in my hair before straightening it, my hair was too think for gentle use of a heat protectant and he did not spray down into my roots. I'm not too sure his experience on natural hair but he did damage to mine. I hope this helps someone. read more

I don't get my hair done often, and this was my first time getting it dyed. Well over a year ago, I went and got my hair done at Curl Up N Dye with Giovanna, and I loved the experience! Today, I went back after over a year of neglecting my hair, and I went back to Giovanna, who did her usual magic and left my hair looking just like I imagined it would (she also recommended some great products to use and gave me some tips on how to take care of dyed hair). Giovanna is patient and professional, checking in to ensure you're comfortable throughout the process. The crazy part was that I hadn't seen her in over a year and she remembered me, the cut she did, and even noted how long my hair had gotten. I'm definitely going back. The place was nice, as always. I depend so much on Stephanie for my color, trims and treatment. CUND is known for their amazing colorists/artists/hair magicians. I was seeing another stylist there, but they left to pursue something different. They referred me to other stylists and Stephanie was one of them. I think it was our love for Tim Burton's work that we bonded over and her great Nightmare Before Christmas backpack. She's a wonderful stylist who really listens, is fun to talk to and really makes you feel comfortable. They all do really good work and this is coming from someone who used to get her mane taken care of by a person who styled hair for The Golden Globes and certain celebrity 'helpers'. (Courtney Love's attorney, Gwen Stefani's accountant among others). Stephanie also has great suggestions as well but truly works with you. I have made an appointment to this place as it came highly rated. I have to say this is the most disappointing and and the worst experience of having my hair done in ALL of my life. Let's start with the fact that I was asked to send a photo of the hair stayle and color that i wanted for my hair. My first appointment was very scary. The hair specialist showed no skills or knowledge on a product that could have made my hair fabulous. My hair was cut dry (not very good) the color was applied and after time for development it was washed in cold water. He specifically mentioned it supposed to be cold(brrr). No shampoo was applied or any product to style my hair. The color came out brown with shades of blond and yello and there was no sign of highlights. The highlighted area was starting in mid point of my hair. Very disappointed. After many questions, I have told him that I did not like the color of my hair as it was all blonde there was no sign of highlights. They have made an appointment for me, which I was not looking forward to. My second appointment started again with color being applied to my hair, and again was washed with cold water. No product was applied again to my hair and the style was not what I want it. I am so disapointed and so angry. I have paid $260 dollars and I don't look like i have left hair salon. This is by far the the worst experience I've ever had. In my opinion, for that price, the hairdresser should come with some level of experience and expertise. I understand that the hairdresser needs to start somewhere to develop skills and knowledge but the price should reflect the luck of that. Let me say that first and foremost, I have been to this salon on another occasion and the lady did a wonderful job on my hair. I wear it in a pixi style with color. So I decided to take my kids in to have their hair done as well and mine cleaned up. I was told that the lady who did my hair before was no longer there so I was with Giovanna now. I went in for a pixi cut from this establishment on 07/07/2020. The salon artist who cut and dyed my hair this time, Giovanna, shaved half of my hair off. I did not ASK her to do this. She did not listen to me. I left in tears. Giovanna clearly misunderstood what I asked to be done and did what she wanted. When I told her i was unhappy she simply told me, "Well it will grow back". The owner only offered to give me a DEEP conditioning wash on a FUTURE VISIT. I spent over $400 in this shop that day and that's how they apologize. They essentially backed their salon artist and yelled at me. The owner yelled at me and told me to REPORT HER THEN. They will NOT refund me anything. I told her would be posting the photos of what they did to me. I had to purchase a wig to cover this until it grows back. I SUGGEST YOU DONT GO HERE FOR PIXI CUTS! I love this place! Have been coming here to do creative things to my hair for a few years now. So far I have been worked on by 2 stylists in the salon and they have both done amazing work. My current stylist is Chelsea. I love her skill and how she listens to my multiple ideas and advises me on colorful options within those parameters. She is also very honest about the expectations of each choice (how long it should last, what I can do to extend the life of that look, etc). The end result is always fabulous! And the environment of the salon is very fun, like punk-glam. (I love being in a non-hoity-toity place while my hair is being designed) For any type of colored look (traditional and especially NON-traditional), or even just a cut and style, I highly recommend Curl Up & Dye, and especially Chelsea. read more

Hair stylists at this place are super nice and friendly. The owner however is heartless. A 27 year old man accompanied my missing 15 year old daughter to this salon to change her appearance. We got a tip my kid was there long story short the chomo was slammed against the window and broke it. When things calmed down I offered to pay for the window. The owner who was there said no, he'll just end up eating the cost. Me being the decent human being I am knowing we were the ones who broke the window I offered at least 2 more times to pay for the window replacement. Every time I asked I was turned down or simply ignored. A week later I get a call from LV Metro informing me they talked the owner out of pressing charges if I pay for the window. Ok no problem, I get contact info for the owner and made arrangements to pay $700 for window replacement. I get there greeted everyone who was so nice, bit the female owner came out like she was angry with an attitude, but softens when I say I want to pay foe the window. I ask to used my credit card and the attitude comes back, she gets help from her hair dresser John who was amazing, compassionate, and just plain nice trying to remove the 3.75% fee the salon adds to "CUSTOMER" transactions. The owner says "NO! I don't want to take off the discount" why you so mad lady, you got insurance that will reimburse you, plus you gwt another $700 from me with a fee. That just shows you the owners of this salon are stone cold heartless. But it's OK, because my child is home safe, and I know I did the right thing and took responsibility for my actions just for you to get mad you are receiving payment in full, just not the cash you expected but money is money right. Shannon is the greatest hairstylist I've ever had do my hair... She is so personable and really did a fantastic job! I am obsessed with my hair, she really took her time and was so thorough... I will only go to Shannon ! I came in with dark ombré and asked for purple ! I walked out with an awesome looking reverse ombré hair color, along with a beautiful style! She did so much to my hair for only $160! Great prices here, it would be cheaper if she didn't have so much to do to me, but I feel like I paid for the service too...
