This is the type of place I love! Simple and popular with locals, affordable options, and friendly service! I stopped in for breakfast as lunch after a morning of exploring. I got biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs. I added a side of the hash brown casserole. Everything was tasty and the portions were great for the price! The sausage patty was a bit dark/dry but with the runny egg yolk and the gravy, it wasn't very noticeable when I ate everything together. The listed desserts sounded good but I was too full. Inside is nothing fancy, not much in terms of decor but it had that small town type of feel where many of the patrons were regulars. They offer a military/active first responder discount as well. They also have weekly lunch specials. I got my meal, the side of hashbrown casserole, and an iced tea for $13! I will be back and hopefully get to try some of the desserts! read more

Out looking at houses with my daughter and found Curleys Cafe. Very welcoming, home town type restaurant . Our server, Tracy, was lots of fun and helpful with suggestions. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich with their homemade chips. Sandwich was great, light breading on chicken, cheese was melted over the shaved ham. The chips were just as good. This is our 2nd time visiting and can't wait to make it a permanent place for kit only us but to being out of town guests. It reminds me so much of the mom and pop type restaurants where I grew up at in Michigan and it just gives me that feeling of home. I ordered the single biscuit and gravy, eggs over medium and bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly but felt that the gravy could have had a little more flavor in it, but that's just me. My husband had one of the breakfast platters and he is so picky about how his eggs are scrambled but he said they were perfect. Can't wait to find more dishes to try and mark as favorites. read more

A well kept secret a bit off the beaten path from N.Myrtle. The place is much larger inside than it appears outside. Stopped in for breakfast for the first time with a group of 8. They served us very well and kept the hot coffee coming. Everyone enjoyed their food and the prices were very reasonable. Several in our group had the Jerry special that was fantastic. We eat at Curley's at least several times a month and are never disappointed. The service is consistently great and matches the food. Favorite breakfast is the Hillbilly Special, but don't overlook the omelets. Lunch specials vary with the day of the week. My favorite is the chicken bog (Thursday specials). Tried this place based on the reviews and if your are visiting Myrtle Beach it's worth the drive! We had breakfast and everything was amazing! Everything was served hot and fresh, and everything appears to be cooked when ordered! No food being warmed up in pans rather cooked fresh. Portions are good sized and pricing is reasonable! Walked in around 9:15 in the morning and it's a very small townish local home cooked food restaurant. Only about 6 people in the whole place and we ordered an omelette and she ordered a sandwich. After waiting 25 minutes I walked up to the counter and asked to check on the food, the server gave me kinda an attitude and said she had a big "to go" order, shook her head and stormed into the kitchen. So we have to suffer and not have our food in under 10 minutes because of some "to go" order. After I walked up and complained our food came right out! Shocker! read more

Their menu is huge and you can order breakfast anytime during the day. They also have daily specials with your choice of either two or three sides, choice or bread and a drink. They have so many side choices making the decision extremely hard! I had the chicken fried chicken along with corn, green beans, hashbrown casserole and a biscuit. My mom had breakfast. Today was what we think was the third visit and second time something inappropriate was said to us by the wait staff. Would not have gone back but my wife likes cooked cabbage even when I cannot stand to smell it. My complaint is not about the food in general we have not gotten a bad meal. No the problem is how it was served! I ordered a club sandwich which should be easy enough but, it came out like two sandwiches cut in half and all stacked together - nothing separate like most places serve it. All pinned together to make one sandwich around eight or nine inches thick. I could not imagine how you are supposed to eat it so I ask the waiter how it is supposed to be done when my mouth was not that big. He brought a plate and knife and said cut it up! Turns out it would split in the middle but still be too thick. It took me a while to gather the courage to try biting into it. Was not easy and maybe that was because it was loaded which makes for a good sandwich if not double thick. I was ask if there was something wrong when he saw I was not eating it like I should have been able too. I told the guy the sandwich was good but very hard to eat. He looked like that made him angry and said in the five years he worked there he had never heard that one. So I told him I bet I could gather up 100 people that would have the same problem if it was made the same way. I also told him we were local and would never come back after his remark. As a side note we used to be in business for ourselves so we know what it is to have a problem but the way you handle it is how you keep or lose customers. I feel sorry for the owner who also cooks, he needs a good front person who does not run off customers! The time before my wife chose our seats since it is seat yourself. This jerk of a waiter/front person ask my wife why she sat down so far away - he was going to have to walk to far to serve us. I did not hear it, must have been washing my hands. I would have apologized and told we would never bother him again and left. So sorry we went there today, my mistake! I will never do it again - ever! The food is good for a small out of the way place but the service is horrible! His tip was to be nicer! read more

We were heading out of town after a wonderful vacation in Cherry Grove. We found Curly's Cafe on Yelp when looking for breakfast places. We gave it a try based on the good reviews overall. Our visit to Curly's was wonderful like the majority of the reviews here. My kids shared the two pancakes and also got two biscuits. The biscuits were very large, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. My 6 year old son, a serious biscuit aficionado, absolutely loved the biscuits. Said they were the best he's ever had. He was skeptical about the pancakes because he usually will only eat McDonald's pancakes. But once he tried them, he gobbled one up in no time. My husband also agreed they were very good. I got the French toast, which was delicious. Bacon was flavorful and crispy. The grits were creamy. Sweet tea was delicious. We were happy all around. Service was nice. Friendly staff and the locals there were friendly as well. I'd like highly recommend this place. We'll be back next year during our annual beach trip. read more

First off, let's just get to it, the lady working behind the counter never came to my table to see if I needed anything the whole time I was there . She barely filled up my cup. I watched her check on her other tables and asked them if they needed anything, she even went to a table very close to mines twice and still didn't come to my table. Upon leaving, I asked for a to go cup and..... she did it again, she barely filled it up, and didn't even bother giving me a straw.
