Stopped in this past weekend! Good service. Crowded place! I had the buffet and she ordered the skinny omlet with rye toast! Her omlet was excellent! The buffet was very good! Real scrambled eggs! Plenty of options! Had sausage links, red skin potato home fries, waffles and bacon. Had a few pancakes that were firm as they must have been there awhile! Prices are very reasonable & food is good. We had the eggs benedict, hollandaise sauce wasn't the fake stuff from a jar that tastes like mustard. I'm almost positive it was made in-house but nit as thick as most freshly made sauces. Breakfast potatoes were really good. We also had the country style steak. What a little gem. You have an option to order off the menu and those portions are fairly priced and large or you can get the buffet. The buffet has lots of options and you can order the eggs made to order. I had the buffet and everything was tasty and hot. Service was great and friendly. Highly recommend giving this place a try. We stopped here because my daughter wanted a breakfast buffet.... Why you ask, considering she's the pickiest eater ever. Nevertheless, we came here to try out out. It was decent for the price. I for sure got my monies worth. (Check in on Yelp you get a 10% discount) The coffee was EXCELLENT!!!!!! They have flavored creamers and bring them out in cups. I like creamers so they brought us all three and told us to guess the flavors. (I got them all right just by smelling them) My only issue is, my waitress and her trainee were VERY attentive. After they brought is the checks.... Not so much. I had to ask several times for a refill on coffee and we never got our water that we ordered with our meal. We're visiting the area and tried this restaurant based on the reviews. Very disappointing! Thought the buffet would be too much to eat, for the price, so we ordered from the menu. Turns out, we spent more than if we'd ordered the buffet. Food quality was no better than IHop or Denny's and the coffee was nothing to brag about. Service was fair. It's obvious that locals keep this restaurant alive (good for SSUG) - the building has obvious upgrading needs. Would not recommend (unless you want to spend $16/person for the buffet). read more

Stumbled upon this spot while riding down the street and decided to give it a try while in the area. The outside isn't much to look at but we decided to venture on in since the reviews were good! We were greeted and seated almost immediately upon entering. There wasn't much in the way of decor but the buffet that sat in the center looked inviting so instead of ordering from the menu we opted to give the buffet a try. Everything we tried, we enjoyed...grits, biscuit, bacon, sausage, ham, pork chop, corned beef hash, home fries, pancakes, waffles, hot cocoa and coffee! When I say a place is ok, I would definitely go there again, I just wouldn't put it in the top of my list or go out of the way to go there. We were staying in Cherry Grove and looking for a breakfast place to take our twins and their cousin. We found Sunny Side Up Grill and headed that way. It was a very cute place and felt like "your local diner." The waitress was awesome - she was very patient with us and kind. My husband and I ordered off the menu - it was your standard breakfast, nothing sticks out as excellent, but it wasn't in any way bad. I had the biscuits and gravy. I felt it was lacking a little salt and pepper, but the biscuit was pretty darn good. The three kids at the buffet - at $9.99 per kid, roughly the same as a meal from the menu would have been, it was a great price especially since one of them is a picky eater. They were each able to take small portions of a bunch of things and really enjoy their breakfast. All in all, a good experience - we got a kick out of the Rooster in the parking lot - our local diner has a Rooster out front, as well, we even call it the Rooster Place instead of its name, so it was a nice touch and made us feel even more welcome. read more
