    Build your own salad
    Jack S.

Very good for airport food. I did a build your own salad with a bunch of veggies, chicken, and spicy harissa for the sauce; which was incredible. Good amount of chicken and everything tasted very fresh. Spicy harissa was definitely the best part of the salad I will say

$18 build your own in the airport, you can not beat it!!

Honestly, when you're at the airport, you never know what you're going get. But here I can make a bowl full of protein and vegetables and tasty hot sauce for $18 and be full for my entire cross country flight..it's clean, consistent, and tasty. What else could you want at the airport? Also, every time I come through, I notice how conscientious the staff is and always cleaning. Major points.

Receipt showing hidden fee after the transaction. Unacceptable practice.

I was torn with deciding # of stars. The employees and food are 5 stars. The cashier carefully registered my order and the server asked about dressing and rice noodles. They were pleasant too which is not a given at an airport fast food joint. The smoothie was made fresh and promptly. Food is respectable for airport food. I wish all airport food met this standard. However management receives 0 stars for false advertising and hidden fees. I despise hidden fees. I value transparency. Management advertises food prices on a display board which is responsible but then there is a hidden 3% charge that only appears after the transaction is processed. After getting raked for the 3% fee I looked on the display board and did not see disclosure about the fee. (If it's there it's not easy to see). The practice of slipping in hidden fees is despicable. There is no place for this type of deception. (I do not want to hear any responses about how the employees deserve benefits. I do not disagree but then management should increase advertised prices by 3%, not secretly add 3%). I will not be returning to this operation and I travel through PHL more than infrequently .

I'm not gonna lie, my expectations were quite low, but the food was great. I got the Harvest bowl (with rice instead of farro because I'm gluten-free), and it was delicious. All the ingredients were fresh and flavourful. I would go there again next time I'm at the airport and highly recommend it for a quick healthy meal.

Jamba had a big line and I was attracted to Currito by the smoothies and green signs. The folks who worked on the food line were great, the cashier however was grumpy. Sadly the food was a disaster. I got the Supergreen smoothie which was mostly ice and undrinkable through a straw. I opened it up and tried eating it instead of drinking it. I really tried because I was hungry and it was too big of an ordeal and I ended up junking it with 80% of it left. With that frustration, I blanked and left the salad that I ordered behind. That's not on them but still...an annoying visit. I was down $30 and still hungry.

Following my coworker recommendation I stopped at this Mexican restaurant to grab some food to go. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and chips and salsa. I was pleased with my order, all the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. The chicken was delicious and the salsa had a lot of flavor. The chips were very fresh and I even got some cream and sauce on the side. Kuddos to the staff that was friendly, professional and very kind.

Oh my goodness- Nirvana yum in a bowl. -think Chipotle like bowl meal meets Indian flavors and creativity- and in an efficient and convenient fast casual venue. As a true "frequent flyer"- I wish every airport had a Currito. It's a rare treat to find a place with truly healthy (veggie and nutrition dense) options that are high in flavor and options. Don't worry if you don't like "curry"- though there's curry in the name, there are many options that are curry-free. If you've never tried Indian fare, this is the best way to have a taste- customized and "safe" for even the pickiest of eaters. The service was fast, and the owner was looking on to ensure high quality and satisfaction.

This was a chicken peanut sauce salad.

My first time coming across this area only because my flight was near by. This place is in the PHL airport in terminal A. A little overpriced but it's really fresh ingredients. It's located next to a pizza place and has a ton of seating area. Pretty quiet area close to restrooms. They have a preset menu or you can build your own. The service is quick, it is fast food.

Amazing service. Everyone is easy to talk to. They loaded the bowls generously. Decently priced for healthy, airport food. They have diet preference friendly, vegan and vegetarian and gluten free.

    pre-flight food! Yay! (5/13/21)

We had really good steak and chicken bowls before boarding our plane. Ingredients weren't skimped on, and we weren't price-gouged like I thought an airport place would do to trapped customers. Our server was super nice and was even happy to give us fountain waters.

I have been to Riverwinds a few times now, usually for special occasions like Mother's Day or Father's Day, so I do understand those days can be busier than normal. That said, after multiple visits, I think I've realized this just may not be the place for me. During our Mother's Day visit, we came with a large party. We expected some patience would be needed, but the seating situation was frustrating. They initially tried to place us at a table that was clearly too small for our group. My uncle is 6'3", and the space simply was not going to work comfortably. Once we said something, the issue was addressed, but it should have been considered before we were seated. The food was the biggest disappointment. It arrived cold and was pretty underwhelming overall. I ordered the lamb chops, and they just did not deliver. A lot of the dishes felt like they were covered in sauces, but the flavor underneath still was not there. I also ordered oysters, which I usually enjoy, but the presentation was disappointing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the waterfront view is definitely a highlight. It is a nice place visually for a special occasion or family gathering. However, for me, the food has been consistently lackluster, especially for the type of dining experience the restaurant appears to offer. Overall, Riverwinds has the look and location, but the food has not lived up to it in my visits. I probably would not return, but others may enjoy it more depending on what they order and when they go.

Vernick has been on our radar for a while; in addition to all its accolades throughout the years, a friend from high school worked as a chef here a few years ago, so we've been meaning to visit. We had early dinner res to make it to our show, and we were seated very quickly and right in front of the kitchen, an ideal spot. Service was spot on, checking in on us appropriately and being mindful of our time restrictions. We actually had a bunch of time in between finishing our meal and going to the show but never felt rushed, sign of great hospitality. I was also surprised and excited to receive a complimentary small dessert at the conclusion of our meal for my birthday - an unnecessary but appreciated touch. For food, we really relied on our waiter to guide us to the right number of dishes to order. The kitchen provided a small bite to kick off the meal - a gazpacho and pastry puff, a nice touch. We started our selections with the blue crab toast, which was so "meaty" and nicely paired with the lemon and tarragon. We then moved on to the yellow fin tuna, which featured cute crispy rice to give a little crunch. For some greens, we opted for the broccolini with golden raisins and pine nuts; what a fun combination! We were convinced to order a seasonal panzanella with peaches and peppers that was perfect for the season and hot weather, so we were grateful for the encouragement! To continue the summer produce trend, we also had the grilled romaine salad with strawberries and basil dressing, nice and refreshing. Lastly, for our main, we opted for the halibut with miso mushrooms and tomatoes. The fish was so light and flaky but paired excellently with the meaty mushrooms. We each enjoyed a cocktail with our meals (their selection offers something for everyone, including N/A options), which paired nicely as well. It seemed like a ton of food, but each plate is small enough that the menu lends itself to allow the diner to enjoy multiple dishes from the entire menu. We had a lovely dinner at Vernick, and the wait was well worth it. It is a price spot, but the quality of the food is well worth it. I love their focus on seasonal items for their various "sides" and small plates, and the "main" dishes were all so simple yet complex and intriguing. The hospitality was great, really allowing the memory of the evening to linger. I would love to revisit and to try the other Vernick spots in the near future!

We placed the order: 2 portions of Philly Cheesesteaks sando-s with fries and 2 Amber Ale-s on draft (from New York). We were shocked that they wanted us to pay upfront and the bill was higher than we calculated. Then I checked everything: there was a 3% Employee Wage and Benefits Fee added to the total and the server picked a tip, on the high end! Not OK! If you want to give benefits for your staff, pay out from your profit from the high prices you charge! I am OK with benefits for people, but I am not responsible for your workers! In my field of work, I get none so I pay for things! Tips- I like to give my tip at the end, based on the quality of service and the quality of food! Not upfront! I actually changed the tip to a smaller amount since: 1. I paid into benefits already 2. I got burned recently a lot with upfront tips and then you get crappy service 3. I am on a budget! Food was decent, the beer - didn't love it, a tad thick, sweet, not your typical crisp Amber ale. Service - very minimal, so my tip was more than fine! I liked the decor, the tables, more relaxed vibe. The food was pretty good. The rest - left a bitter taste in my mouth! Guest Review by The Wife:…read more Rounding up from 3.5 stars. Independence Prime is located in the B terminal of Philadelphia International Airport. I had plenty of time before my delayed flight, so I decided to sit down and order some dinner. The grilled chicken sandwich came on a brioche bun, with lemon aioli, roasted red peppers, and arugula, and came with a side of fries. I ordered my sandwich without bacon. The edges of the chicken were a bit overcharred, but the chicken was otherwise good. The lemon aioli was tasty. The biggest issue was that between the aioli and the roasted red peppers, the bun got quite soggy. The fries were tasty and reasonably crispy as well. I liked that they were prepped with the skins still on. If you sit in the right spot, there are 4 tv screens, and they're not all playing sports! If you find yourself with extra time on your hands in the B terminal of PHL, it's not a bad place to hang out.
