Shopsin Club on Gluten Free Bread
    Caroline J.

What an exciting addition to PHL! First, I love the aesthetic, all the sitting, outlets for charging and comfortable seats. Great location at Terminal D and easy to walk to after getting off the shuttle. Second, I love fresh food, and it is HARD to find that when traveling in an airport. I am currently exhausted and sleep-deprived, and all I wanted tonight was something fresh that wasn't a salad for once. You don't make friends with salad, and I love greens, but I needed a sandwich FAST. Enter Middle Child who has homemade gluten free bread from a local baker and a VERY knowledgeable staff about gluten allergies. VERY knowledgeable. Even in an airport, with allergies they clean the griddle and change their gloves, and they don't complain about it! EVERYONE understood the assignment, and I felt very safe eating here. Let's talk sandwich. I got the Shopsin Club on GF bread, and when I say I devoured it, that is the classy way of saying I housed that sandwich FAST. I don't even know if I took a breath TBH. The freshness of every bite hits hard. Homemade pickles that have a great crunch and my favorite vinegar bite, a cranberry miso that was lovely without tasting heavy or greasy, HUGE pieces of avocado and a CHUNK of turkey. I have been sitting here for 15 minutes considering getting another one because it was truly that good. It just tasted so fresh and I felt just so light after eating it. I was able to go on my next flight not worrying about food sitting in my tummy or a tummy ache. Even the bread was perfectly crispy and not even a little bit broke off when eating it. The bread holding up to the sandwich was impressive, and that CRUNCH. YES!!! All on such a friendly, kind staff who checked in on me and asked me how I liked the food and made me smile and laugh after a very long day was greatly appreciated, and in an airport where everyone is always on the move, it was nice to stop and have a friendly eating experience. Next time I'm here I will 100% stop by again, and I will rave about them any time I can! I'm sure their other locations are just as great too!

A pleasant surprise to have at the airport! Great quality and great service! Will try to make my way through terminal D again.

I got hella excited to see this franchise at the airport. The experience wasn't that great. The kitchen and serving staff seem to be getting orders mixed up. Also the kitchen seemed to not know how to make the orders. Definitely did not taste like the actual spot in fishtown. $18 for a small sandwich that had fast food taste vibes.

Tremendous consistency throughout all locations for the Middle Child family, well done. Airport location was quick service, got my sandwich in under 10 minutes. Tasted and felt exactly the same as any other location would make it. Friendly staff and fair prices for the airport. So Long Sal remains the best sandwich in Philly without a doubt!

Omg.. The Burger add egg & bacon!

Terminal D: Excellent Service!! Best airport cocktails I've ever had, and the food quality is top tier-hot and flavorful! Did I mention swift?! Don't pass this one up!

Arguably one of the best meals I've had at an airport eatery (low bar, I know). I'm in Philly at least a few times a year and always at D gate (thanks Alaska). Did not even know that this place had been put in (opened in September). Menu looked great and Bryan (great name!) working the counter was perhaps the friendliest person I've encountered at an airport. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and went all in with bacon & avocado added + a side of tots. Sandwich was fantastic and it's SO much food. Even with a big appetite, I couldn't finish the whole thing. It's definitely a shareable. Orange juice was good too. Will definitely be coming back here the next time I'm flying out of Philly.

Great service. Located at end of terminal D. Can dine in or carry out. They have some of staples that they have a storefront in center city.

Good affordable options for airport food. Lots of seating and breakfast all day. GF options as well

I was SO excited to find a Philly favorite in the D gates (right by D12) in PHL. Is it as good as the main location, no. Is it some of the best eats you'll find in PHL, absolutely. Also as this cafe area is closed off for customers only, it is very peaceful, has lots of plugs to charge up, and is just enjoyable to sit at while waiting for your flight. I just want to call out how courteous the staff is here. Everyone was so nice and just going above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoyed their food. If you're in PHL, I would highly recommend stopping by!

At long last and with much anticipation from frequent PHL Delta flyers, Middle Child has finally opened in the D gate area! The menu offers a selection of brunch sandwiches, salads, and beverages, including liquor/beer. Coming in at $12 minimum per breakfast sandwich, this spot has a lot to prove in comparison to the prices of the Dunkin next door. Having not been to the original location, we ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and honestly were hoping for a little more interest than what we received. The sandwich was grilled on white bread that felt buttery to the touch. Melted white American cheese and arugula sat atop a thick patty of fluffy egg- perhaps steamed before being grilled? Not a bad taste, but a bit bland. We would have preferred a little less butter but were pleased it wasn't as salty as most airport fare. Can you convince yourself that this is a healthier option based on the arugula? Probably not, but I did like seeing some green in there! Seating area is roomy and offers great gate views and an arrivals/departures board for convenience. Food is delivered to your seat after order. Not bad but not overly impressive. Hopefully this spot will flourish to continue to add some variety to the terminal!

Surfer: House turkey, melty swiss, blueberry chutney, duke's mayo, arugula, ciabatta.

However, it was too early and they weren't selling the Philly cheesesteaks yet. Too bad! I'll have to try that next time in that airport. I was about to leave when I saw Taylor ham on the menu! This is something that is not served everywhere and kind of unique to the eastern USA, in my opinion. I mostly familiar with Taylor Ham, from my time in New York City. Anyway, I thought I would try it. I was thrilled to see my server, cooking up my fried eggs, freshly on the grill. He was quick and efficient. He seasoned them up perfectly. The cheese was melted all over the eggs, nice and gooey. That was placed on top of us thick Taylor ham slice. I did not expect that! I thought it would be a thin slice of Taylor ham. I think it's the saltines of the ham, but I really like. And the bun absolutely wonderfully soft. This was the perfect find at the Philadelphia airport! I hope I can get back there to try the Philly cheesesteak next time. The restaurant was clean. The service was fast. There's nowhere to sit, but you can find somewhere else within the airport to sit and enjoy your meal. I give this a solid five stars for airport food.

I went with bacon and it came on a potato roll with egg and cheese. Though I love breakfast food I'm typically not hungry in the morning but today I was and I'm super happy I did. The sandwich was good I savored it. Had to stop and leave a review before I even finished it haha. If you're looking for a classic deli style breakfast sandwich that's not overly expensive this is definitely the place to go. The servers were friendly and quick. This rave review applies to all their locations except the airport as we've never eaten there. It's a great concept beautifully executed: take a diner, improve the food with better ingredients and more variety, serve big portions at very reasonable prices and you've got the Sabrina's idea. In the past 25 years or so, I don't remember ever getting anything here that wasn't good and many items are just delicious. Breakfasts are wonderful with lots of options and the sandwiches and platters are amazing. Plus, there's something for everyone from kids to elders. Be prepared to take some of your order home. Service is quick and friendly. I hope you like tattoos. We held my 60th birthday party at the old Christian St location. That's how much we love this place. The Mel's Chicken sandwich? Nothing like it. And you can get potato, sweet potato, or POLENTA fries! Great coffee. The South Street location has a bar. Breakfast and lunch ONLY. VERY busy for weekend brunch. Expect to wait.

So took my Blackened Chicken Bowl to go to eat awkwardly on plane. ( Not fun when surrounded by people not eating on short 3 hr flight. The seasoning was strange with cinnamon overtones that have no business dominating in blackened spices. And overcooked. I have l9ved Sabrina's other l9cations but fear this is a loss as the same prep complaints are shown for a long time. America's Pie is not just a pizza place, despite its name including "pie" and having some artwork…read morethat would imply that it is. Let me repeat...America's Pie is NOT just a pizza place, and while their pizza is absolutely wonderful, it is in the raw selection and quality of that broad selection that makes this place freaking outstanding. I have had the opportunity to order food from here several times over the last several years and they have one of the most unique "pizza shop" restaurant menus out there and even have a massive selection of tacos that you can pick from. I have had several opportunities to write my review of this spot, but it wasn't until I discovered something very special here that finally drove me to write my full opinion. My most recent visit to America's Pie was one born of laziness. Everyone at home wanted something different and we didn't want to cook, so we were simply looking at places that would be easy that we don't order from that often and landed here. The menu is so large that I was being indecisive and that was when I saw it...all the way at the bottom of the sandwiches section, what I have now identified as one of the top three sandwiches I have ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of sandwiches: the Tony Bourdain. A strange combination of ingredients, all delicious and savory in their own right, brought together to create a bread-borne experience unlike few, if any, that I have ever had before. This seriously is one of, if not, THE BEST sandwiches that I have ever had. It is not what it looks like, or the way it is constructed that makes it so good. What makes it so amazing is the absolutely mastery and command of the knowledge of the ingredients, the quality of those ingredients, and their interaction together on the flavors they will produce when combined within the very high quality seeded roll that it all comes neatly packed within. It is not a pretty, easy to eat and clean sandwich. It gets everywhere, and it is worth it. You SHOULD get this sandwich, for the culinary perfection, but also to honor the late Anthony Bourdain. This is definitely a meal that properly honors the man and his legacy. America's Pie isn't perfect but it is one of the best pizza/sandwich/pasta places in my area of Delco. Hands down. The specialty sandwiches really take it to the next level and that Tony Bourdain shoots them into the stratosphere. You will never have a bad meal here. They are local people making great food, with a local but very friendly attitude, and want you to enjoy everything you order. Explore the menu and check them out. I made a pledge to work my way through the sandwich menu just because that sandwich was so damn good and I am excited about every single one that I check off that list. Can't wait to bump into you there!
