At this time he pointlessly ushered me into their kitchen to show me their iPad with their DoorDash portal was turned off. Again, I let him know it allowed me to place an order and he should please turn off their portal if he does not want orders coming through. Vishal seems to thing turning off the DoorDash iPad and ignoring if orders are placed qualifies as closing their portal. Vishal was insincere and apathetic in response to my concerns. I wasted the small amount of time I had to pick up food during my work day on this mediocre experience. The only positive is that when I reported to DoorDash that the restaurant was closed, I received a refund. That says much more about the customer service of DoorDash however, and is not a positive reflection on this establishment. If Vishal shows such a lack of care for customers trying to spend money with him, I probably dodged a bullet by not having the opportunity to try their food. The buffet had tandoori chicken, aloo matar, chicken biryani, chicken curry, eggplant curry, gulub jamun, chicken nuggets, fries, and some salads and sauces. I got a little bit of most things - I loved the aloo matar (potatoes and peas) and the chicken curry, but everything was hot and fresh. I decided to order the matar paneer to try as well - this is one of Nate's favorite dishes, while I usually get butter chicken. The dish was piping hot and served with rice. The sauce was not as thick as I've had before, but it was very flavorful and savory, and the medium spice level was pretty mild for me. I really liked this and would love to try their butter chicken next time. Service was good, but again I was the only person in the restaurant. There was only one employee that I saw tending to the buffet and serving me. Tandoori Hut is pretty far from my house but I'd come back for the buffet. I paid $14.99 for the lunch buffet, which I think was a very fair price.
