    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Austin G.

A long time friend from India who calls the Grand Rapids area home took me and a friend to this downtown Indian restaurant, his favorite Indian spot in Grand Rapids. The dining room is big and the service is friendly and efficient. The menu has many options. My party of three ordered the tikka masala, saag chicken, and paneer with garlic and butter naan to share. It came with rice and was filling. My friend loved his mango lassi and I the chai.

Loved the lunch buffet! Great selection of dishes to try if you're new to Indian food. Decent price as well at $16/person. Restaurant was clean and modern. Would definitely go back!

I decided to stop in for lunch while waiting for a flight out of Grand Rapids. I just happened to stumble upon this place and I'm glad I did. Lunch was served buffet style and they bring fresh naan to the table. They had a wide variety of food, including vegetarian options, which were also delicious. The staff was extremely attentive and you really can't ask for more.

we had such a nice valentine's day dinner at Pind. each table had a valentine's day balloon attached and i thought it was a super cute and thoughtful touch. it was very busy but we were seated immediately. i was prepared to be patient for this meal. with how busy it was though, the wait was not too bad. we were able to order quickly. we were given a complimentary appetizer - i believe it was papadam, which is crispy and cracker like. our vegetable samosas came out fairly fast and they were delicious and packed with potato. our entrees took a little longer but that was expected. i was impressed how they handled the valentine's day dinner rush. they had a large vegetarian menu to choose from. we ordered vegetable biryani, baingan bhartha, regular naan, and garlic naan. my go to dish is biryani so i've had quite a few variations in my life - this one wasn't my favorite but it was still good. i loved the texture of the eggplant in the baingan bhartha. it did need a little salt though. the naan was delicious as well. we ended the night with gulab jamun which is my favorite indian dessert. it was warm and perfectly syrupy. we had such a great time and lots of leftovers.

Joel: Negatives: The chicken tikka masala was pretty bland. Positives: we had good service. He was prompt and refilled our bread baskets. Yeah, give it a pro for the desert-it was warm and perfectly round! Julia: I really appreciate the option to have a buffet to try multiple things without having to commit to one dish. I even liked the chicken tikka masala! No complaints, but didn't blow my mind in any regard. The little dessert thing I would recommend. Meredith: The variety of the buffet was good and service was kind-they checked in, but not too much! Katie: I loved the buffet option here. It gave me an opportunity to try multiple things, the creamy chicken was delicious! The naan was plentiful and delightful. The tea was hot and had a great creamy tea taste.

I'm writing this about 10 minutes into my meal here for the lunch buffet on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The service is astounding, everyone is incredibly friendly and attentive. Although there aren't rows and rows of food bars like you would find at some other buffets, the food that is there is clearly made with love. The ambience is lovely, everyone having quiet conversations and being respectful. There was some music playing but it wasn't loud at all, I could still speak quietly while conversing with my partner. I cannot stress enough how delicious the food is. Going up for my second plate of their Chicken Tikka Masala now, highly recommend supporting this place!

This place is alright! This is the first and only Indian restaurant I've tried in Grand Rapids thus far. I went in for the lunch buffet. The naan they provide is good! It was a bit weird how it came out with some slightly burnt, but nevertheless, it was still good. The options they have for buffet were quite plentiful - from butter chicken to Chicken Tikka Masala. I would say some of the options were a bit on the salty side. Mind you, I've had pretty amazing Indian buffets in the past, so I can't help but compare this place to others I've eaten at. I did wish the meat dishes were more tender - the chicken dishes were not the softest. The ambience was nice - I like how the windows are large so during the day you get a lot of natural light which makes the place feel bright and lively. Service was great! They have a parking lot. You will collect a ticket when you enter in, but you can get it validated when you leave.

Walked in and were greeted immediately by the hostess. We were sat and our waiter gave us some recommendations off the menu. Our food was brought to the table in a super timely manner and it tasted...GREAT. You can smell the delicious from the sidewalk so we finally stopped in and boy am I glad! There were only a few other tables full so the service was great and we had a good view of the sidewalk. They recommended we come back on a buffet night so we can try more dishes!

We waited a good 20 min with no one coming over. Finally someone came over to take our order. I explained I needed GLuten free and diary free and was wondering why non of the veg apps were gf when usually they are. The server had no clue. Explaining that they have yogurt I showed him the symbol that said it was vegan so there couldn't be yoghurt. He said he'd go ask. We waited another 5 min or so then decided to get up. They were also rude to other people sitting around us and they messed up other orders. We decided it wasn't worth spending any more time and especially money so we left. Definitely don't recommend

I got the you pick 4 for $14ish. I chose naan, rice, chicken tikka masala and lamb curry. Both had a nice spice level, my hubby thought the chicken tikka masala had mango powder mixed in. I agreed it had a fruity spicy essence that we both enjoyed. My favorite was the lamb curry, because I loved the latent heat that built with each spoonful. It had me sweating in a good way! I washed it all down with a $6 mango lassi. The Dutch girl in me would've rather paid $5, but I'm sure renting space here isn't cheap... so it goes. They also had some interesting fusion tacos and Kati rolls that were cheaper and sounded interesting. Overall, very happy with my order and would eat here again. I hope this place thrives and becomes a unique and filling staple at The Downtown Market.

We had the Chicken 65 which is essentially spicy fried chicken bites with onion and sauce, and the chili chicken which is a bit more like General Tsao's but with a twist. Both were tangy and wonderful. The lamb vindaloo, heat 7 of 10, was just right for us - liking hot but not burning. The lamb and potatoes were tender, and there was the the right amount of sauce or gravy for the rice. The chicken tikka masala was perfect, again tender chicken and just the right heat at 7. But it was so filling we couldn't finish it all. It'll make a nice leftover for lunch tomorrow! The malai kofta had a slightly sweet and certainly spicy flavor, at an 8, and we finished it all - it was so good. Topped it off with garlic naan, and some Sprites. Important Note: this is behind the Boost Mobile, and not so easy to see. A family-run three-person operation, Mithu is exactly the kind of restaurant operation that elevates a community. It's located in the Towne & Country shopping center, which has other proud national restaurants. I started off with the Gobi Manchurian, which really shows off cauliflower at its best. Savory, crispy, with a sweet slightly spicy tang. (You can customize the spiciness of most dishes on a 1-10 scale.) The Kottu Roti might best be described as Sri Lankan stuffing, light and flavorful. A complex dish with the flavor profile that just kept giving little sparkles of delight. The garlic naan, screamingly hot out of the tandoor, was a perfect vehicle for the other dishes. The mango lasi was fresh and not too sweet, highlighting the fruit. A+ would sip again. The staff are wonderful, attentive, and enthusiastic.
