My friends invited me to join them for brunch in Selma at the curry Cantina due to their new brunch menu. I had never heard of them and thought why not. The restaurant was definitely on theme with the essence of Latin culture and also had a really nice brunch vibe. We were able to seat ourselves. I will say that we did find service to be very slow as we ordered drinks to the table. It took them some time to get the drinks and we had to prompt the wait staff to let them know we were ready to order our food 30 minutes in to us being seated. The menu was short and sweet but there were many options for breakfast at a great price point. I ordered the blueberry pancakes that came with eggs and bacon. The wait for the food to be served was very long. My group wasn't bothered by it too much because we tried to keep the table full of $2 mimosas. However there was a table next to us who left because after an hour they had only had drinks and no food. When are food was served my pancakes were cold and missing butter. When I asked the staff for butter they brought me cold butter along with cold syrup. Some of the other people at my table did not have that experience their food was warm their butter was melted after realizing that they had missed a few people at the table. The good thing about it was after trying my food I chose to go with a tostada instead as it was also on their regular lunch menu item. I really enjoyed my tostada you could dress it anyway you wanted and it was loaded. There was a really great DJ and she kept a Vibe going the whole time. My party was there till about 2:00. I ended my time there with a coffee that was made to perfection. I believe that the service will get better as the staff get acquainted with having more people in the restaurant. I sort of had the impression that the amount of traffic that they were getting may have surprised them. Hopefully the service time and wait can be shorter. They also let me know that they're doing weekly watch parties for love Island so we may be back for that. read more

Oh boy, where do I begin. Let me preface this by saying I have been so excited to try this place since it opened. Once I heard this place was coming to Selma, I thought it was a fantastic idea (two of my favorite food types in one experience!) To say I was severely disappointed is an understatement. Myself and two others decided to give Curry Cantina a shot on a Friday afternoon. We got there 45 minutes after they opened for business for the day. When we walked the place was empty besides the 3 workers in there. During our entire experience, we were the only ones in there during the hour we spent in there. The first issue we had was they did not have a menu up at the time of arrival. Since it was our first time there, this was quite troublesome. We were able to look up a menu online after a few minutes but this is a big inconvenience for us. They were able to get the menu up when we finished ordering. The next issue with our visit was the lack of urgency of care by the employee helping us out. She seemed a bit annoyed that we asked a few questions about how ordering works. We would order something and the employee would walk away for an extended period of time without saying a word or a sense of urgency. From the time we walked in, it took about 15-20 minutes for us to order our 3 items (a bit long considering we were the only ones in there). This employee looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Another issue we had was the lack of options available. They only had 1 out of the 4 normal rice options they have on their menu. According to the worker, the others were "not ready yet". You would think that 45 minutes into opening they would be ready for business that day. They also did not have all the protein options available that were on their menu. As far as the food goes, it was nothing impressive. The samosas are frozen and come out of a box, the naan is store bought, and there is a lack of freshness. Part of our food was luke-warm at best when it was served. As far as the space itself, it is dark inside and was not super clean. There appeared to be articles of clothing left on some tables and booths from the event the night before. There were ants crawling on the table I first sat down on. The condiment bar looked messy and the condiments did not appear fresh or cold. Customer service, cleanliness, and quality/ taste of food are the most important aspects to a dining experience for me. This place missed the mark on all 3 of those categories unfortunately. One positive aspect of this places is the prices are really reasonable for the portions you get. You can get a filling meal for less than $10. I normally give places a second chance after a poor dining experience but, after this one; I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Such a bummer as this place has a lot of potential. read more

Both with lime & Indian rice, black beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Chicken with the hottest sauce they have and Asada with mild sauce. Everything looks Fresh & GREAT! Also ordered Samosas & Naan bread. Paid for order after that. Small wait. Garlic Naan and Samosas made fresh. Another worker handed over Samosas sauce and Naan bread put in last, after samosas. Very nice restaurant. Clean, safe & practiced! Music playing with lots of seating! Lunch time Samoa order split. FYI! One Samosa order us only 1 Sam OS a! Not like other Indian restaurants. LOL! Great place for brunch. My best friend and I shared the butter chicken nachos and she ordered naan tacos with various proteins and I had a chicken fajita bowel. Everything was delicious. The butter chicken nachos were our favorite. The tacos we will definitely be back for and the bowl is a great affordable alternative to what you get at Chipotle. Our server was great and patient with us. He gave us great recommendations. We also loved the music playing. All in all, great first experience. read more

Not sure what all of the negative reviews are about. Perhaps some early hiccups to be expected when opening a new restaurant in its early stages. All I know is I'm an instant fan! I eaten at Curry Cantina 3 times now. I'm absolutely addicted to their Naan Tacos and Shahi Pizza. I'm not much of a drinker but it does appear that they have fantastic drink specials and I'm a little bit on my older side so I don't typically get there for the weekend nightlife. But for young people and younger people at heart I'm sure this would be very pleasant. Perhaps I will make a guest appearance on a Saturday night. Pros: This place is very different for the usual suspects in the area. The staff is great, the music is great, the place is clean best all delicious food! Make sure to ask of off the menu items! Cons: I would like to see some staple dishes added to their build-your-owner menu. Table service would be nice for dinner. And it would be nice to have chips included with every meal. read more

First off I'm very happy there is a new restaurant in town offering vegetarian/vegan options! I tried their plant based chicken on their bowl option, though I do wish there was more toppings available but I also went towards closing so that was my fault but I give it a solid 8/10. My husband tried their tandoori chicken bowl and rates it a 7/10 for same reason as we arrived late and not many options available. Since we did arrive near closing for the restaurant side we did get to experience their night life which included a live DJ as well as free tequila sampling which was a definite plus! Special shout out to Yudi the bartender for making some delicious cocktails and providing excellent service throughout the night! Definitely will be back!!! read more

Walked in it was empty but my first impression of the food on the line it looked like they don't switch out the rice or beans periodically throughout the day seemed like the same rice and beans from when they opened. They had so much going on it was overwhelming from what to pick all the food was not to temp everything was literally barely warm and room temperature and didn't help when I would add the cold stuff because it just made my whole bowl and taco cold. The ambience and the restaurant was pretty. I see the vibe they're trying to hit. The way to order is chipotle style. They have burritos or a bowl bur specialty items as well. For $10 and under. Beers are $3 to $4 dollars since 2 draft beers came out to $8. People sang karaoke which is a nice ambience. I do recommend getting one of them Touch Tunes juke boxes. The bar section kinda small too but can't complain. Other than that ill go back. read more

It certainly does smell like Curry when we first enter. They have specials every week with Happy Hour menus and they work hard to keep you coming back. OC, Biannca, and Kat are very friendly, professional and work hard naturally to keep us coming back. We are in our 60's and these 3 younger employees are very respectful with us. The prices are very reasonable and we get filled up. The tortilla chips with 'guac' would be worth it alone to come in. The music is a nice touch and they really do not mind playing the 60's oldies for us, and will play different genres. We are looking forward to trying their brunch menu as well as different items.They are just nice people there giving us an A+ effort. Great food and delicious drinks! We had the Tandoori chicken taco, birria taco and the Shani paneer taco. We also tried their LaToxica drink and it did not disappoint. It tasted like Mexican candy! They were all delicious and you can choose to have them on corn tortilla, flour tortilla, or naan. We chose the naan and it was soooooo good! The food is very reasonably priced. The service was amazing! The young man who waited on us was so friendly and welcoming. The young lady at the bar was friendly as well.
