I had such high hopes for this adventure! Never tried Indian food before. However, the food was so spicy that it did not have much flavor. Is that common in Indian food? Mom tried the chicken marsala and the meat itself was pretty good. I had a vegetable mix, but it was so hot. I could not enjoy it. Those yellow rice was weird, but I mixed it with the sauce from the vegetables For dessert they give you a little cup of banana pudding. I think it is to help you put out the flames. But it is just canned pudding. Another review mentioned butter chicken, but that was not an available option today. It also said garlic naan. And that was not an option either. You can kind of tell that this place is just run by a couple of gentlemen and it's kind ofpieced together. They were very polite. read more

Raja was the kind gentleman who took my order today, which was the combo #2 with goat curry & chili chicken. Note that all lunches come with rice, naan & the dessert of the day. Not bad for $12.98. I have no complaint with anything I ordered, but do advise that you're careful if you order the goat because there will be bits of bone. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here, vegetarian & non-vegetarian options to choose from. I actually recommend them because of the buffet lunch style they have, as it affords a good variety of dishes to try for those who may not want to commit to a full order of something they aren't sure they'll enjoy & can do it without breaking the bank. Only downsides to this place is that there isn't much seating if you wanted to dine in for a party & the restrooms are first come first served (one stall for each gender - MW). read more

Ordered through Door Dash. When the delivery person got there, the restaurant wouldn't let him leave with the food because the restaurant prices were higher than listed on door dash. I can't imagine Door Dash just goes in and assigns random prices to restaurants food so I would assume the restaurant didn't update their prices like they should have. Instead of allowing the driver to deliver the food, they made us give up one item we ordered so the price fell within their "in store" prices. The message I got, hoping they weren't just going to serve my food to someone else, is that they would rather waste food than worry about customer satisfaction. I will never order from them again. My poor door dash delivery person got caught in the middle. Update your door dash prices and practice price transparency... if advertised at a certain price, sell the food for that price. Instead, they wanted me to pay an additional almost $20 dolllars for food I had already ordered and paid for. There could have been a better solution. read more

My first time last night... was going to eat there, but realized they don't serve beer/alcohol. I did notice they allow you to BYOB. So ordered a great curry and Chicken Tiki Masala, with rice, and purchase two orders of naan. Was so surprised when we got home. The food was "warm" at medium spice. Surprisingly good! Went in with low expectations and we were pleasantly surprised - especially my super picky vegetarian sister. Went on a weekday during lunch and noticed a lot of take out. Maybe it's better known for that as we were the only guests there. It also explains the long time it took to get served. But, the staff were super attentive and the food was delicious. I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately for me, it just wasn't great. The naan and veggie samosas were good. But the chicken masala was very bland and watery. It wasn't any better than grocery store sauce. And the chicken 65 was just gross. It was soggy fatty chicken that was goopy. It wasn't good at all. I was also disappointed they did not offer chicken pakora and suggested that chicken 65 and said it was close to the same thing. But it wasn't close at all. Anyway the service was good so I'm trying to be fair in my 3 star review. But the food is nothing to rave about. read more

Tried them for the 1st time as I'm new to the area. They offer lunch combo's that are reasonably priced. I'm assuming you have to pick what's already available for your entrée as I wasn't able to pick order what I wanted to be made at that time. The flavor was good, but the rice was a little dry, and the naan bread was very soggy. This may be better if you eat there although I was only five minutes away from my home. I'm also willing to try again for dinner to be able to order exactly what I want. But so far I feel like it's decent for the price, will try again. read more

I've eaten here several times over the past 5 years. The interior definitely needs to be deep cleaned and updated but the food makes up for it. Their Tikka Masala is pretty standard. If you haven't tried cuisine from India before, they use Old World spices that you might not have encountered before. This Indian kitchen has been here in Rockwall, Texas for a while, offering authentic dishes. In a stripmall along Goliad Street, behind QuikTrip gas. Plenty of parking near the front. Inside, seating for 24 with booths for 4, and small tables for 2. The Chicken Tikka Marsala is grilled chicken breast, cut in slightly bigger than bite-sized pieces, served in a deep bowl of warm & slightly spicy Marsala sauce. (You can try Chicken Tikka as a kebab, also) I had the VegBariyani rice dish, full of bite sized veggies, and with pungent Cardomom spice. This was great, and settled well, I slept good that night. Next day I reheated leftovers for lunch, still tasty! Service was good, I was the last diner, on a slow night. I think they were going home, but then I showed up. Staff was pleasant, and quickly went about cleaning after my meal was served. Price was not too high, servings were generous. I will return on a colder winter day to sample the hotter spices! My only regret was that I didn't take pictures of our food! Reviews following speak for themselves. Apart from delicious dishes cooked to order including spice level, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I felt like I was in a home stay in a families kitchen. The staff that waited on us allowed us to stay after close to finish our dinner and inquired about the nature of our visit and our time in town. Tired of the same old places, I hit up Yelp for a new place to do lunch in Rockwall. I spied this gem with solid 5 star reviews and over 100 of them! I cook a mean Tikka Masala--it's my hubs favorite dish and all my friends fav too so I'm throwing down the gauntlet! When I walked into Curry Express the first thing I noticed was the delicious aroma. It smells just like my house when I spend all day prepping spices for the Garam Masala and letting naan rise for an Indian feast! I knew it was going to be good right away. The nose knows! The interior is small and cozy, the staff very friendly and charming. The gentleman serving lunch at the steam table even told me exactly how to get my naan to blister up as light and fluffy as his (I ALWAYS have trouble with that!). Hubs just needs to buy me a wood fired clay oven. XD And the food...Chicken Tikka Masala so delicious even my picky husband was smiling happy happy happy. He also tried the Chilli Chicken but the Tikka was hands down the favorite. The Saag and Vindaloo looked really good too! I'll try those next! Accompanied by a choice of white or yellow spiced basmati rice, we both opted for the incredible fragrant yellow rice. It was beautiful-I had a WHOLE star anise in my portion and I very much enjoyed trying to puzzle out the other wonderful spices here. Saffron :) Cilantro :) Delish :) The naan is perfect in every way. Light, fluffy, chewy, the perfect spoon for leftover sauce and rice. Yum. Could eat all da This incredible lunch was $6.99. SIX. Four stars for lack of social distancing and no masks worn by employees. What's up with that???? With that said, the food was exceptional and really deserves five stars! The best garlic naan ever! The spicy Dahl was delicious and the mushroom dish was perfectly cooked and well seasoned..... A tasty combination of mushrooms and peas. The samosas were generous and potato/Pea filling was over the top.... delicious blend of spices tucked inside a beautiful crispy brown crust. So glad to have found this great option for authentic Indian food in Rockwall... please get your act together in your response to COVID-19 so that we can revisit! Great discovery after the Pho place across the street forgot my order. All their food is fresh, curries, biryanis and other dishes. Chai isn't sweet which very good specially when you don't take any sugar in your system. Owner and co owner ( the chef) are both Very friendly. They were super helpful and educational when it came to explaining the menu to my husband and I. this Was my first time ever having Indian cuisine and I will say I am extremely pleased with the outcome. the food was extremely tasteful and the sweet lady that checked on us knew the menu so well and explained each of the dishes in detail.
