Daal curry w/ white rice and a vegetable samosa.

Definitely the best Indian food in and around Rockwall. Every time I go, I get something different, and I've never been disappointed. The rice and naan are perfect sides, and the appetizers and entrees are delicious every time. Portions are plentiful. I'm always greeted w/ great service and a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend to anyone

1st timer at Curry Express. If you're not wanting to take a nap after you eat, maybe save them for dinner because they do not skimp on portions. Raja was the kind gentleman who took my order today, which was the combo #2 with goat curry & chili chicken. Note that all lunches come with rice, naan & the dessert of the day. Not bad for $12.98. I have no complaint with anything I ordered, but do advise that you're careful if you order the goat because there will be bits of bone. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here, vegetarian & non-vegetarian options to choose from. I actually recommend them because of the buffet lunch style they have, as it affords a good variety of dishes to try for those who may not want to commit to a full order of something they aren't sure they'll enjoy & can do it without breaking the bank. Only downsides to this place is that there isn't much seating if you wanted to dine in for a party & the restrooms are first come first served (one stall for each gender - MW).

Pretty mid compared to other Indian buffet set ups I've had but it does the trick in a pinch.

Not a fan. Nothing tasted good here. Mango lassi is very watered down. The curries lack flavor or depth. Won't be ordering from here again

They bring it with a little teapot and some sugar. Chili Chicken Momo: We've never had momo before, so we asked the server what he recommended, which was this one. We got it in medium spice which ended up being perfect, it erred close to an authentic Thai mild. The momo's flavor was fairly balanced, chili wasn't overpowering and had some suble sweetness. They were so soft and juicy despite being fried. Not too saucy either. The bell peppers, tomatoes, and onions on the side werent ignored; its not normal for us to finish side vegtables! When we come back, we plan to order two. The Curries: The chicken (mild) and butter chicken (medium) curries were both good, but the butter chicken really suited our tastes. Genuinely the best butter chicken we've ever had. I was spooning it like it was soup. Both curries' chicken were perfectly cooked, very moist. Appreciated the chicken to curry ratio as well. For the spice level, medium ended up being perfect again. Mild is best for those who don't like spicy food. The chicken curry was still good, the seasoning reminded me of my mother's vietnamese cooking. Garlic Naan: The garlic flavoring is subtle, which was a departure from what we're used to from the Indian restaurants we've been to (ex. So much garlic and butter that the nann can be eaten alone as an appetizer). The subtlety is preferred for us since it doesn't overtake the flavors of the curry. The bread was soft and came in four pieces. We came at a slow time, but the environment wasn't awkward and we had fun playing the little games provided. The server was very welcoming.

I think it was no less than 80 degrees in there. They had an AC unit which was running but that thing was not going to cool the entire restaurant. There was no way. Service. Wow. Mediocre at best. The food comes out rather quickly and the seating is good. The decor does not fit the establishment's roots. I think they need to go back to the drawing board and make it feel like I am on foreign land when stepping inside and trying out Indian food. I ordered the lamb masala with buttered naan and lollipop chicken. The lamb was cooked beautifully, the curry was also very tasteful. Rice was good as expected. I mostly mixed everything with the rice. Now, for the lollipop chicken. They need to take that thing off the menu or re-create it. There were more crispy parts than chicken itself. Unseasoned as well. I ordered a lime soda and it was decent. I think if you ordered here to go, your experience will be a lot different. Customer service was sub-par. With only 1 waitress, the restaurant was not even busy but yet it took me 8 minutes to cash out. Staff need to be more attentive to their customers. Would I try the food here again? Yes. But only if they fix or get a bigger air conditioning unit.

Ambiance: The restaurant was pretty messy and disarray when I went. A man (worker) was sleeping in one of the booths with his shoes off on his break LOL. I ordered the biriyani chicken dum (bone in-chicken biriyani) and it was delicious! The chicken was so tender that it fell off the bones. I asked them for "medium" spicy and it was a good amount of spice for me. You can feel the kick, yet not need a full cup of water to save yourself from your last bite. I did not order their chai tea, but it seems like it is very popular here! I saw many groups of men come in and order the chai just to sit on the patio! They even ran out at one point!
