What a hidden gem. Rockwall is truly lucky to have such an incredible Indian Bistro in town.

Our experience was very mixed. Many of our entrees were very good and some downright inedible (goat Curry so tough it could barely be chewed). Due to Covid the normal combo plates were not being offered and everything was ordered separately. We were four adults and a small child ordering five entrees to share, thinking we'd have yummy leftovers. No such luck. Portions for the price seemed smaller than expected. They forgot to pack an entire meal in our initial pick up bag and we had to return for it. They did throw in some bonus naan for our inconvenience, but the whole process held up our meal considerably and may be what contributed to the goat being so tough. We plan on trying again once their menu returns to normal as a local place offering unique flavors and variety is an asset to our regular restaurant rotation. read more

Such a great eat! My family and I really enjoy Curry Express and have been a couple of times already! Extremely flavorful cuisine. My personal fav is their lamb vindaloo but you can't go wrong with many. I took off one star because in one of my vindaloo (I ordered two) there was a little more potatoes than I cared for. I typically order a medium spice level which still has a heat level of about a 4 out of 5 in my opinion but I know that's subjective. I would strongly recommend this place ! read more

My brother and I stopped by here for a late lunch. It was a nice fast-casual environment and we ordered our lunches to go. The staff were friendly and prompt. We ordered the tikka masala chicken, palak paneer (spinach), and goat curry. Everything was so good! The Combos come with biryani (fluffy and yummy!) and naan (so delicate and light). This place if for foodies and very picky eaters like me, not for those who judge a place about how a restaurant looks. The food is amazing and best of all, SAFE. I never got sick from this place and I get sick 75% of the time from restaurants. I peek into their kitchen, and it's always cleaner than those fancy restaurants. This place is so dirty! There were 3-4 guys behind the counter and at least one of them could have picked up a mop. The floors were dirty with caked on something or other. They need a deep scrub. All surfaces need a wipe down. The hallway to the bathroom is filled with food boxes on the floor. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months and there was absolutely no toilet paper to be found. The food wasn't good but it was hot at least. I'm not sure what is going on, but the last two times I have eaten here, the flavor is gone..not sure if they are watering it down due to inflation or what but it's not the same. This place gets worse every time order food from here. I come here because as far as I can tell it's the only Indian Restaurant in Rockwall. It's never been great, but it was okay the first couple times. Today was my last time ordering from here. The sauce was completely watered down and seamed to be missing the tomato. Since it's to-go, I'd have to drive back to the restaurant to try and resolve it. I won't be taking my chances on this place anymore. I will acknowledge that I'm a newbie to Indian food so I only know a few dishes. Came here with the boo thang for dinner because neither 1 of us had Indian in a while. Saw it on yelp which said it was good. On we went! The menu is pretty simple with some pictures and descriptive words so you get the gist. You could also ask the owner gentleman who is SUPER nice btw. We got the garlic naan, butter chicken, and chicken vindaloo. Waiting for the food to come out was longer than average wait but it was ok since we weren't in a hurry. There was 3 other tables there with us. After the food came, our waters were filled and dishes were taken away. Middle of dinner, bf and I exchanged dishes bc we thought the other's was much better. I liked the vindaloo better because of the curry sauce and how soft the chicken was. The bf liked the tomato-ey ness of the butter chicken better than I did. I also thought the butter chicken wasn't as soft despite being dark meat. When we finished everything, we really did! The owner came to talk to us, telling us about how they're a new restaurant and not many ppl know about them. I had no clue but it used to be a different Indian place with different owners which didn't work out. Also, he said their specials are good which seem like a great deal. My cousin said she had this bookmarked and we were close by on a Friday night. Yelp informed us they were closing in half in hour so we thought we would just order it to-go but the gentleman that helped us, who seemed like the owner, told us it wasn't a big deal and wanted us to sit and enjoy. Customer service here was exquisite! They didn't make us feel like we were a burden even though I know at the end of the day, all you want to do is go home and kick your feet up. We were there for an hour and we had excellent customer service from start to finish. Chicken saag ($10.99): Creamy Spanish dish with chicken. The chicken was so tender and juicy! He also made it spicy for me which made it so enjoyable! I had it over rice and dipped my naan to soak up the creAmy sauce. There was a lot of food... most def enough to share! Let me start by saying, in Rockwall I walked in without expecting much. The ambiance is lacking and feels a step above gas station with booths. Okay, but the food there will literally rock your socks. The options for not as spice to spicy are perfect for the people who are trying to get into Indian food. The curries are amazing and you honestly can't beat the price. It is healthy, more filling, and overall better than any meal. The lunch specials give you three options: 1 meat is $6.99, 2 meat is 8.99, and 3 meat is 10.99. They literally fill your plate up, like you are at your house. This place is also bumping all the time. The new restaurant should be on Rockwall's best for lunch specials, authentic Indian food, curries you want to dive in, and cute family style. Amazing Indian food at a great price!!! I've been coming here since they first opened about 5 months ago. I have become a regular and I appreciate how they change up the lunch menu. For dinner you can have your staple plates. For lunch, I usually get the chicken tikka masala, it is rich in tomato base but with mild spicy flavoring. Chicken that comes cooked is fresh and always has great texture to it. Over all, I think what makes this place great is the consistency of the food. This place is currently byob but they have there alcohol license up and will be getting a beer and wine license. King Fisher will be a great lager beer to take down with the spicy dishes. read more

My personal go to is the goat curry, but beware, there are bones hiding in the thick flavorful sauce. Came here on a Saturday evening on my way back from my office. Was going to go to my Indian food go-to place in Dallas but am glad I came here instead! We got the vegetable kadai and butter chicken with samosas. The samosas came out promptly and were fried to perfection. The naan was brushed with butter and was some of the best naan I've ever had. I love that the menu has a lot of vegetarian options, it also has gluten free if that's your thing. South Indian food is well represented here! The lunch specials look awesome because it's cheap AF. What a cute place. For those who like to know how to order beforehand, just take a seat anywhere and look through the menu. The waiter was incredibly kind, and they have a menu designated for vegetarians or meat lovers-- which helped me out tremendously! I got the Veg Biryani and my boyfriend got the Chicken Biryani-- it was our first time having Indian food and it was definitely a good first experience. Very nice atmosphere and the prices are great. Food tasted good and since I am new to the curry scene, I tried sample of few appetizers.

I didn't even know this place was there, but I saw it the other night and placed an order to go. They greeted me very nicely and I ordered up at the register. I was told it would be about 15 minutes for my Chicken Tikka Masala and to have a seat. The gentleman brought me a couple papadams, with chutneys, and a glass of water. I have never had service like this for just waiting for a to go order. The papadoms were light and airy with that perfect crunch. I felt so taken care of that I left a couple dollars on the table when I left with my order 10 minutes later. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home. This is the best Chicken Tikka Masala I have ever had. The sauce was flavorful and spiced perfectly. I ordered mine with rice (the other choice is Naan) and it was light and perfectly cooked. I'm glad we were able to order from the menu for lunch. My daughter ordered the orange chicken Tikka and I ordered the malai Kafta with naan. It was all very delicious and I ended up ordering another basket of naan. The service was exceptional and they offered us water. They also came back to check on us and asked how we were enjoying our lunch which I always appreciate. We got to try the rice dessert complementary which was very gracious of them. Our lunch cost about $24 and I will definitely return. This is my first time eating here and I like the concept of a Indian restaurant that serves food so quickly.
