If you're looking for good Chinese food, this place is NOT it. Worst Chinese food my husband and I have truly ever had. It was worse than the worst buffet food you could imagine. It was completely empty on a Saturday night at dinner and now we see why. I'm convinced this is an undercover business for something else. Wow one of the best Chinese restaurants in Rockwall. It was our first time there we were very impressed. The owners were very nice and I told them this is our first time. The poo poo platter was awesome. Their general tsao's chicken was the best we had. The fried was so yummy!! Definitely we will be back. They also do deliveries awesome. I order takeout and ordered multiple items for about $50 total on the bill. The quality of the proteins were subpar at best and the sauces used in each of the entrees were flavorless. Good chinese food, with local delivery. Better than average appetizers; try the soups and the Pu-Pu Platter. The beef and chicken portions of the platter are seasoned perfectly, and the dumplings and ribs are a nice addition. Very good flavor with a nice sized serving. Much recommended! All of the entrees we have tried are good, but we usually stick to the basics. The chicken in the stir-fried rice is adequate, but not as well seasoned as the appetizer chicken. The beef and shrimp used in those stir-fry options are very good. The broccoli in some dishes may be mushy or dark, but this is common in chinese food. The home delivery option has saved us several times, and we always have enough left over for lunch the next day. We like this place. read more

I hate coming on here to write a negative review--but I honestly don't have anything positive to say about my experience eating at Hunan the other night. With all the other restaurants in the area boasting 1+ hr. wait-times, my husband and I decided to chance it at Hunan...where there were only a few other patrons. That seemed like a bad sign, but we decided to risk it. First, service was slower than slow. There was one waitress and she kept disappearing to the back for LONG periods of time. Another lady actually got up and walked out while waiting to be waited on. It seemed like forever just to have our drink order taken, and when we finally got our drinks...they were still in the cans and were warm and completely flat. The food itself was laughable. I've had better Chinese at a mall food court. We ordered Orange chicken and General Tso's chicken along with some cream cheese rangoons. The rangoons literally were just cream cheese. Most places will at least add salt/pepper and green onions to the mixture, but nope--just cream cheese. And that was the best thing we ate. The entrees tasted the EXACT SAME. My husband and I traded at least twice because we couldn't figure out whose was whose. And needless to say, neither tasted all that great. Lastly, we ordered fried rice as a side for both of us. It was forgotten and we couldn't find our waitress to even let her know it was missing. My husband tracked down another person working there...and let me add, he was VERY POLITE, even though we were both pretty frustrated at that point. When the "fried rice" came, we literally laughed because it was just white rice with soy sauce mixed in. No traditional peas, carrots, and fried egg. Just rice. This was the first time in the history of me knowing my husband that he didn't tip. And I fully supported that. We didn't even get the check from the waitress because we never basically saw her after she took our order. TLDR: This place was a total disappointment in both food and service.
