I had the sliced pork vermicelli bowl with egg roll. The egg roll was quite tasty, hot and went down too fast since there was only one. The vermicelli bowl was actually tasty except what really brought it down for me was the fact that the meat that came with the bowl was cold, not warm, like cold from the fridge. There's something about cold meat that doesn't do well with my pallet in terms of texture and taste. The other oddity, for me, is that there were very little noodles and mostly sprouts and lettuce. My thought is that somehow the meat got overlooked and getting heated up because I've never had a vermicelli ball with that cold of meat in the bowl. read more

First, summer is when Pho Garden must run on bare minimum staff. With kids out of school, the parents go with them to more fast food places. Having worked in restaurants myself, I am shocked at the food cost, even the bulk purchases are very high. Leases are going up, up, up. So, with kids back in school, Pho Garden is looking for some extra employees for fall / winter, their busier time of the year. Decent location, right off Horizon & I30, or from Ridge Road. Plenty of free parking near entrance. Smallish place, 20 small tables, staff can combine tables for big party. This is not Kyoto, nor Panda Xpress, it is a small traditional Vietnamese kitchen that also served Thai style dishes. I arrived at end of lunch hour, 50% capacity, and people picking up their takeout orders. I had the grilled Shrimp, and Pork combo, with steamed rice, big slices of veggies, shredded carrot & daikon garnish. I absolutely love the food! The Pho is delicious!! But beware when they are busy. I have been here about 8 times in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I've had a good experience but I've come during the week when they weren't busy. I placed a To Go order and ordered double chicken and double jalapeños .. they gave me the normal amount that I usually get with a regular order. And when I said something to them about it an attitude was caught. I've worked in the food industry for a long time so I know it can be stressful when busy but know that if you are paying for extra for something you will not get it. The decor was very basic, so it was not a romantic date type of place. It was interesting to see a very diverse menu when the name of the place gives off a Vietnamese/Pho only vibe. As the only pho place in the city, I feel like this place is great. I ordered the choose your own pho option with flank, brisket, and steak. Unfortunately the pho was alright. The broth was decent and the meat was okay. In my opinion, the portions are huge especially if you get the extra large. However, I would like to stress that if you live far from the main populous cities and you don't want to drive far for pho, this place is good. The owner is very sweet and kind and was very caring towards the customers. Parking is plentiful and inside has quite a homey feel to it. The vermicelli was lacking a spicy and flavorful kick I was looking for but it had enough to satisfy my appetite. There was too much lettuce and not enough noodles. The tofu spring rolls were pleasantly delicious with their peanut hoisin sauce that was also really good. I asked for chili oil, hoisin and sriracha to go, but only received chili oil and hoisin.
