I was very intimidated by the red volcanic color of the curry but it was surprisingly slightly sweet and savory. Each curry was flavorful especially dipped with Naan. Walking in the smell was amazing, igniting my olfactory. We ordered the Tikka, Jalfrezi and garlic naan. It was a decent meal but nothing that made me feel I would be rushing back but at this moment I figured I'd give it at lease one more shot. I would continue my search for mind blowing Indian cuisine. I love Indian food and this is my favorite place to come when I need my fix. How I have not left a review is beyond me because this place is literally my favorite for Indian food. Even before the pandemic we've always just ordered takeout from here so I'm glad to see with the pandemic over the last year they've been able to stay open and keep serving their food. What I love here is I can substitute meat for cheese I mean who doesn't want buttered paneer instead of buttered chicken, are there maybe a few more calories, maybe, but it's so worth it. All their dishes I've tried here over the years have been delicious I have not come across one dish I have not liked if that tells you anything. Service is always very nice and ordering is easy with online or over the phone. The food is also packaged well and maintains its heat for the 15-20 minute drive home as well. This restaurant was very tucked away, and I do not think you can see it from the main road, but location doesn't matter when your food is this good! It really was delicious and made me feel like I was right back in North Carolina with my family. Indian cuisine is a kryptonite for both the husband and the lil sister so when this place popped up as nearby, I decided it was time to be the hero and suggest some lunch. We stopped in after the lunch hour and were seated right away and our order was taken. The restaurant is small, a single room with a very simple interior design. Minimal decorating and contrasting dark and light colored walls. It wasn't the most visually stimulating restaurant we've been in, but then again we were there for the food. They assured us that the curries and the papadums were gluten free which meant the little sister and I, both Celiac and members of the glutenisgross club, were going to get to nom without concern. The husband and I enjoyed the butter chicken and korma with rice and papadum. He also nommed a rather large hunk of gluteny naan that he said was very good. The little sister, who originally claimed to not be hungry, was tempted by the exotic mango curry and did not regret her choice. The dishes were well spiced and the chicken was of a good quality. While the restaurant is pretty small and minimally designed, our experience with the food is that its a solid meal. We don't often eat Indian food just because Tacoma doesn't have many options to choose from. Since we were down in Lacey, we decided to try Curry House. Due to COVID, they were only offering takeout so I will not have any comments on this review regarding my dine-in experience. We also ordered online via their website. We ordered the butter chicken ($14.99), lamb saag ($15.99), garlic naan ($3.99) and large mango lassi ($4.50). The entrees come with naan bread or rice. Because we ordered two entrees, we were able to get both the rice and naan bread. For the price (and previous experience from other Indian restaurant establishments), I assumed that they wouldn't give much. Was I wrong. They were very generous with the food. We requested medium spicy for the butter chicken and hot for the saag lamb. Their medium level wasn't spicy at all. Their hot level is what I would consider 'medium' spicy. Regardless, the flavors for both dishes were good. The curry sauce to meat ratio was spectacular. The naan and rice that comes with the entrees were also more than enough. We had enough leftovers to eat for dinner. The rice was a little bit dry but it was still good when paired with the entrees. The naan bread they offered was one of the better ones I've had as well. As for the garlic bread, I recommend ordering it. It was really delicious. The mango lassi was pretty good too although the "large" size as advertised on their website menu was a bit disappointing. I thought I was going to get a 20 oz or larger cup but their large is a 16 oz cup. Parking wasn't hard to find at all. We found parking immediately and it was free. Mmmm so good! I've gotten take out from here about 5 times now and it's good every time. The eggplant bartha is smoky and amazing; it's my favorite dish they serve. Most other places don't capture the smoky flavor like this place does. There are lots of dishes that are vegetarian, and all the standard ones are good (aloo ghobi, palaak paneer, etc). For meat eaters, try the goat curry, it's really good and not too many places serve goat. The naan is fluffy and doughy and soft. Very good, and I'll definitely keep ordering.
