It was so good I got an extra portion to take home. My husband had the Pad Thai. It was totally different from anything he's ordered before, but he liked the delicate flavors. We stopped in for lunch today and took advantage of the all day special by ordering the Kung Pao Chicken and the Spicy Garlic chicken (both dishes were less than $10/each) . We requested extra spicy for both and they did not disappoint! The food was excellent, the service was great and the portion size was decent for the price. It's nice to know that you don't have to spend $15 /person for lunch during these turbulent Trump inflationary times. This cute restaurant is slightly hidden when you first arrive as my boyfriend and I missed it when we first arrived by GPS. Luckily there was street parking in front of the restaurant and we were able to park just fine and enter the restaurant. We were greeted by our waitress who appears to be the owner and she was very polite and professional with us. She got us waters and menus and gave us the right amount of time to decide what we wanted. My boyfriend ordered the Singapore fried rice with chicken and I got the spicy garlic chicken with peanut sauce with a Thai iced tea. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and cute. The ceiling has a beautiful pattern of blue skies with little clouds and there is good lighting throughout the restaurant that gives a pretty casual vibe throughout the restaurant. The food came out after some time and it was absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend loved his fried rice and he also took some of the peanut sauce as he said it was very flavorful. I really enjoyed the spicy garlic chicken and wished it was a bit spicier as I ordered hot but that's fine. The peanut sauce was delightful to put on my meal as well. We thought the Thai iced tea was very refreshing and perfect. I look forward to trying more of the dishes here as we were happy with the food, service, and prices! read more

My wife and I went on a whim to check out Olympia. She wanted Chinese and we found this place. It is small place, nothing fancy, but the food was fantastic. My wife went with chicken broccoli. I decided to try the yellow curry with brown rice. They were both made to order and very flavorful. The server was very nice. We arrived just 25 minutes before they were to close and offered to take our food to go. She said, no, please take a seat. The food came out hot and fresh. So...been trying to try this one and finally got here. 1 The cordiality and service was homelike and heartfelt. 2 The food ..... had the Thai curry with beef which was delicious and a request for mild spice came out just right. Great curry with fresh veggies cooked to "al dente" The Ginger Chicken dish was also cooked just right and the mild ginger sauce was light and didn't overpower the ingredients.....just right! 3 Pricing was VERY reasonable especially for this area ,also considering this was an ethnic meal that gives us a real taste of a simple tasty foreign cuisine for a fair price.... Far East is about the best Chinese restaurant we've found in Olympia. Everything they have is delicious - especially the Seafood Delight and the Cashew Nut Stir-Fry. We always get extra chicken in the stir-fry and extra shrimp in the seafood. The size of the portions is always very large - enough for two meals. This place is partially advertised as a Thai restaurant as well as Chinese. Do not order Pad Thai or Orange Chicken. There were very few Thai dishes, and the one we ordered was missing key elements of Thai spices and flavors. It was strangely pink and bland. The orange chicken was okay but on the bland side, had no color, thin sauce, and tasted of stale oil. It did not have the spicy thick sauce and big chucks of chicken I order from my usual place. Both dishes lacked visual appeal. The orange chicken was just the chicken and some raw cabbage. The prices are shockingly affordable. The woman who served us was very sweet and friendly. Lastly, the restroom is quite filthy which made me wonder how clean the kitchen is. Reviews for this restaurant are good, so I think we ordered the wrong dishes. First time ever at this restaurant for my wife and I and three neighbors, and the food was fabulous. The quality of the food was excellent and the portion size was generous. I ordered the Thai tofu basil because I generally know this dish isn't too hard to mess up, but it was lacking a lot of flavor and the spice level wasn't there for me. I wish they would have given me some extra hot sauce in my to-go order. I also ordered some fresh spring rolls and those were just ok too, however their peanut sauce was pretty good. Sooooooooo delicious! I came here for my birthday today for the first time. I ordered the Thai basil delight, snow peas mania, Hong Kong fried tofu, and cream cheese wontons. Upon receiving the order, I was missing the wontons which isn't a big deal as they give an outstanding price of $1.50. Plus, every restaurant forgets something at least occasionally. We're all human. But before leaving my apartment, I quickly tried the Hong Kong tofu I had ordered and it was the tastiest thing in the world (though I'm sure not super healthy due to its sweetness, I figured instead of eating birthday cake, I'll just order a second one of these while I pick up the wontons)! They made my wontons and tofu in just minutes. And we even had a very lovely, friendly chat. The atmosphere is absolutely inviting and relaxing. The people are incredibly friendly. Oh and the food! The Thai basil delight was a lightly sweet broth with the perfect amount of basil to hype up our taste buds! The vegetables and tofu were cooked to perfection. The snow peas mania, while a bit salty for my taste (I don't usually like much salt though and I expected this at it has both oyster and soy sauce), it was still absolutely fantastic and had a great savory flavor. It is wonderful regardless of my dislike for salty things. The wontons were fried perfectly. Not over cooked, not dripping in oil like other fried foods at restaurants often are. Perfect. I ordered that orange chicken special, which was apparently $6.20 now. I paid and waited, getting it to go. The gal was very pleasant - the only upside of my visit. When I got home, I opened up the bag, and noticed the box I had was very small, and very light. When I looked inside, I noticed that even the small box was only 1/3 filled. Hardly any chicken, etc. The rice tasted like basic white rice, and the orange chicken was subpar. Pics attached, I will not be going back. --------------- Based of the reviews, I wanted to try their Chinese cuisine. I called to place an order and asked about combination plates - you know, the ones every Chinese place has - they said they did not have them. So, I decided on the orange chicken special ($5.95), and asked for fried rice with it. They said only white or brown rice comes with it. I asked for substitution for fried, and would pay extra for it, and was told no and that if I want fried rice then I have to specifically order the fried rice order - which is $9.95. Lol. My daughter and I ride bikes downtown at least twice a month on Saturday night. We always eat at a different restaurant down town trying out new places. We stopped at Far East because we had never eaten there before. They were super busy but did a good job getting tables cleared and orders taken. The food was fresh, hot, pretty, and delicious but it seemed skimpy. We ordered from the lunch menu which may have had something to do with the sizes but even for lunch portions it seemed skimpy. Their was literally 6 tiny pieces of chicken on my daughters veggie delight with chicken. My orange chicken had about 8 pieces. It ended up being enough but if we stopped again we would probably order from the dinner menu and hope they are more generous. My daughter loved the bubble tea. Good prices. The noodles were not even authentic chow mein noodles they look like Ramen noodles, there was absolutely no flavor or sauce in the dish.
