    Chicken Katsu Curry
    Christopher A.

Chicken Katsu Curry had the perfect meat, curry, and rice ratio. I cleaned my plate clean! Seasoned perfectly and the flavors were balanced. If you need seasonings, they provide them at your table. Service was fast and the tables were cleaned right away before and after seating. They were attentive and always provided recommendations and water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is a casual vibe allowing for very fun conversations while eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food came out quick, enough seating with no wait! Got the pork katsu curry - the curry itself was a bit sweet. The spice options on the table helped balance it out. The katsu was juicy and crispy, wished it was a little thicker.

We ordered the signature curry katsu (pork loin) and the classic teishoku rice plate with double menchi katsu. The curry was really good. I'm not entirely but I tasted a faint hint of dry salted plum, which added a really interesting depth. That subtle curry paired beautifully with the rice and katsu. The pork katsu itself was pretty standard. The teishoku set came with a dashi based sauce instead of curry. It had a strong, savory flavor and was enjoyable, but I personally preferred the curry. The double menchi katsu was flavorful, it had a light onion flavor to it. My partner found it a bit overpowering, but I thought it was good.

Wait time: Notoriously has a long wait time to get a table with a place to put your name and number when walking in. There are other shops in the strip mall that you can peruse around while waiting. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]A fairly small restaurant with tables stacked very close to one another and easy to hear other peoples conversations going on while being quite loud inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: Service is very efficient and the servers a very detailed about the menu. There are also buttons on the table to press in case you need a server more quickly as well. Food: Very tasty omurice and flavorful sauce. The rice is cooked well without feeling like it is overcooked or too hard. Potato salad is really good as well and they have extra chile powders in case you want to make it spicier.

Highlights: * Go early * [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stroller/baby friendly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] * Curry and rice stole the show Food * Signature Katsu Curry (pork) - the pork Katsu was okay, though the curry itself was so delicious it made the Katsu the side dish. Enriching the rice with mild curry flavor, there's a reason half the plate is just curry. No one would order a dish with just rice but that was my favorite part. Not pictured but we also got the Corn Potage Soup and loved it! Service: With two babies, one stroller and one child seat, was thankful that they could accommodate our party. It helps we were there early. It fills up fast. Anyway great service here!

Having grown up in Cupertino, I'm always in awe how much things change year after year. Stumbled into this plaza and found Curry Hyuga was rather new and thought to give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super simple menu and smaller indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was comfortable enough to have a catch up with a friend and not have to scream over each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the chicken katsu curry and it was pretty good! Wasn't blown away by any means, but the portion was a good size and the pricing was fair. Solid curry joint & decent price point.

We signed in the kiosk. I don't think the wait time is accurate because I came here with a party of 3 and it said it is a 7 minute wait. We waited 21 minutes until we got the message to check in. Overall, the service was great. Food came out fast and tasty. My cousin-in-law said it tasted similar to the dish he had in Japan. They are adding new menu items soon and I'm looking forward to it. I will be coming back.

Curry Hyuga was a pleasant surprise. We stopped by at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and somehow managed to grab the last two tables before the line started forming behind us. Sometimes luck is part of the dining experience. The food came out remarkably fast, but nothing tasted rushed. The katsu was fried fresh to order, crisp on the outside, juicy inside, and notably free of that old-oil taste that can ruin an otherwise good meal. The curry was rich, comforting, and exactly what you hope for when you're craving Japanese curry. What impressed me most was the balance of quality, speed, and value. Everything was freshly prepared, served quickly, and dinner for two was only about $40. No trendy twists. No unnecessary reinventions. Just honest, satisfying Japanese comfort food done well. We'll definitely be back. Next time, perhaps a few minutes before 5:30.

Great food and awesome service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a small lively place but they seem to turn tables quickly without compromising the quality of the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the basic katsu curry with rice and it was delicious!! Would I go back? For sure!!

ou can really taste the 6 hour caramelized onions in the curry!! Definitely unique compared to other places that have an unoriginal flavor that's similar to those Golden Curry blocks. Katsu was decently thick and had a crispy crust. I also loved the refreshing potato salad and portion size of the shredded cabbage. Had some leftovers for a small lunch! The curry in the udon had a different, less rich, more variety of spices based flavor than the one in the rice dish and a soft boiled egg. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Spot doesn't have many tables so I could envision a bit of a wait on the weekend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I love coming to Curry Hyuga after grabbing matcha from Izumi. I always order their Chicken Katsu Curry, and the flavor is consistently delicious every time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a great vibe and a cozy, inviting interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are always warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I'll always recommend this spot to my friends whenever they're craving Japanese katsu curry.

The service is always amazing here and food is delicious. They've been adding new stuff to their menu as well which is great. I love getting their katsu curry (pork) and the corn potato soup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a little small though so can get crowded depending on when you go but overall, would recommend![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very delicious spot to try and I 100% recommend if you are in the area. It's a very small restaurant but the service was really fast. Was debating between the Katsu Don or Signature Katsu Curry! I had to try the curry for the one time so I got this and loved it. Very good comfort meal and the katsu sauce was very sweet and flavorful. Only downside was that the curry was a bit spicier than anticipated than normal curry. Of course you have the option to change the spice level but it had a bigger kick than anticipated.

Is the curry vegetarian or does it contain any meat broth?

They have two completely vegetarian options. They are on the menu photo as "vegetarian" and I called and confirmed.

How much is a regular dish ? And when did it open?

Around 17 dollars for a dish

Does any of their menu item contain peanuts or any nut related ingredients? Peanut allergy here!

I also have a peanut/tree nut allergy. I survived and enjoyed eating a curry plate here

Fast-casual service with limited seating indoors and outdoors. Bus your own table afterwards. Limited Menu; Specialty - Chicken Katsu Curry & Japanese sandos (sweet + savory). F O O D * Egg Salad Sando w/ jidori egg ($13): https://tinyurl.com/khwxepnc I liked that the jidori egg was perfectly jammy, but the rest of the sando was underwhelming. The egg salad was bland, and the shokupan wasn't as pillowy soft as I'd expected. Instead, it had a drier texture that felt more like American white bread. * Chicken Katsu Curry Rice ($21.50): https://tinyurl.com/cwedbaze + Add jidori egg ($3) The katsu curry was fine but expensive for the portion. Crunchy and tender, the chicken katsu (thigh meat) sat atop a bed of perfectly cooked rice - soft, chewy, and sticky, yet with each grain still distinct. The curry was plain tasting and I wish it came with some veggies. The onsen egg is a must add for that silky richness. IMO, you can find better katsu curry in the city for the fraction of the cost ($15-$18) at Curry Hyuga, Nippon Curry, Fumi, Volcano Curry, etc. S E R V I C E We ordered for dine in (outside) but they packed our order to go.
