While staying at a nearby hotel we stopped in at Curry Mantra. The reviews said there was a lunchtime review but there was none. Still, we had an amazing experience! The restaurant is pretty with hanging umbrellas and metal art on the walls. The waitress was friendly and very efficient. The food is the star. Sherry had chicken biryani and butter naan. I had a combo (thali maybe) lunch with lentil soup, lamb vindaloo, naan, samosa and papadum. So so good! We wish we lived closer but when in Orlando, we know our go-to Indian place. read more

Stopped by for dinner with my dad and we both couldn't stop saying "it smells so good in here" and eventually followed by "this is so good, oh my god", can't wait to come back! Service was speedy and very kind. Our curries were perfectly flavored and spiced, and the garlic naan was spectacular. Great selection of indian beers as well! We love trying new Indian spots in Orlando and Curry Mantra did not disappoint! We are lunch here and both got a lunch platter, which includes the entree of your choice, a samosa, daal (lentil soup), rice and naan. I think there was a small dessert too, but I don't remember. My husband had the butter chicken and said it's one of the best he's had in Orlando. I had the chicken korma and it was delicious. Creamy, flavorful, just the right amount of spice. The naan was made fresh and delicious, and I ended my meal with hot chai. We will definitely be back! read more

The customer service was very poor. Knowing that the restaurant is close to airport, I ordered take away and asked for cutlery. I was able to reach there 20 mins sooner than I expected. Traveling with elderly parents and less than 10year olds, I asked them if I can sit inside, use the provided to go cutlery & offer them food. The server at the desk - LENA refused to allow us to sit inside the restaurant (with food we ordered from restaurant & cutlery we got from the restaurant), when the restaurant was nearly 100% empty (12 pm on weekday). Upon explaining that I am traveling with elderly parents & small kids, she mentioned that they can't allow because they are entitled to a service charge which she didn't get for take out (BTW for a take out I paid 8$ tip beforehand). I said I am fine paying that service charge as well, but the server was rude and still refused. I asked to speak to the manager - she refused to get the manager or the owner and said - I am all that's here. In my visit to more than 200 (likely much much more) Indian restaurants in the US - I have never seen such rude behavior. I always saw Indian restaurants as more understanding & nice to deal with. This place is significantly worse in terms of customer service with average food. The service that truly kills your mood and regret you taking out food (and tipping for take outs in which we do so with expectation that if needed, we will receive good service). One of the worst Indian food 'experiences' in Orlando area. read more

I went to this restaurant while staying nearby. I like Indian food. The restaurant is sit down, table service restaurant. The interior is nice and clean but appears to be dated. Arrived at the restaurant at 5:45pm for dinner. The restaurant was not that busy - probably 5 tables sitting and eating. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall so it's not a very large restaurant probably 20 tables total. The lady sits us down and asked us our drink orders and walked into the back then never returned. We waited around 45 minutes and she never brought us our drinks or came back out to take our order. This restaurant was excellent!!! The food was delicious, authentic and well prepared. Also, the portions were huge!. My coworker is from India and chive this place on our last day in Orlando for a work conference. We ordered several dishes and a few not on the menu that she was able to request/customize from the kitchen. Everything served was spot on and soooo good! Two standout dishes were the Tikka Chicken & Goat Biryani. The flavors of each dish were so unique and well prepared....not to mentioned "seasoned" to the bone. I mean you know a nice is gonna be good when it's delivered to the table and you can see chucks of spices and veggies loathing and bathing all over the meat and sauce, sort of rhythmically dancing all in your face. Honorable mention to the garlic naan bread which was delicious as well The staff was very polite and accommodating. Definitely recommend and consider Curry Mantra a must try when looking for good Indian fare n the Orlando area. My husband and I have visited Orlando for Thanksgiving this year. Most of the restaurants in this city were closed due to the national holiday. We found Curry Mantra through Yelp search and thought it is going to be amazing if we try them when nowhere is opened. Portions are gigantic, like even enough for 3 people . We have placed for dinner : 2 naan , one Tandoori chicken , and one order of samosas. The samosas were great in size and shape full of goodies inside, I believe I saw green peas as well. The order comes as 3 individuals Samosas. The chicken tandoori comes with basmati rice . The whole chicken is also juicy and flavorful with Indian spices , it was a little bit spicy to me so be aware of . The green pepper and onions have been sautéed and comes with this dish. The restaurant does not contain patio, only inside indoor salon to take care of people, the atmosphere is warm and authentic Indian culture. Hope you enjoy the experience as we did. read more

After an initial visit where I was not happy with the seating arrangements, I returned for an excellent lunch. The samosas are full of flavor and veggies. I was presented with two dipping sauces which accented the dish. I also ordered the Tikka Masala with rice. This was the dinner portion that included a sauce and rice. The rice was great as it was cooked to an ideal texture and included small flecks of fennel which I found to make ordinary rice a little more special. The chicken tikka was requested to be mild but had me burping up a little heat after my meal. It came with plenty of sauce and was a nice sized entree. Overall I would return because after a brief misunderstanding I received excellent food and service. They close lunch at 2:30 which means you should complete your meal prior to that time. They close for a short time before reopening at 5 pm for dinner. read more

This is my son's favorite Indian restaurant. We used to live down the street but now we live an hour away. We were attending a convention on I-Drive so we came to eat. Usually it's a guy as our server, but this time it was a girl. She didn't greet us with a smile and gave me that, not too happy to wait table vibe. Towards the end of our meal, as she's bringing us a cup of tea, she stood by our table for a moment and just look at me. I looked up and smile and without speaking, she tilts her head down and looked at my 8 year old son. I looked down and realized my son wasn't sitting correctly and his right leg blocked her. I yelled at my son to sit normally and apologized to her and she just put the tea down and walked away. Aside from the poor service this time, the food were fine. I just wished I could taste any cashew flavor in my lamb korma. The masala and madras sauces and the other dishes were all nice. The poor review is because of that girl's poor attitude. read more

This use to be the best Indian food in the area but has gone way down hill. I ate there tonight and their portions have shrunk in size and flavor while their prices have skyrocketed! Salm and the staff are amazing! We brought a large group of parents and athletes to a team dinner. Salm deftly advised us o the best way to handle this large group to ensure our dinner was piping hot and delicious. We highly recommend the samosas, naan, paratha, curried goat, sag paneer, lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, lamb chops, as well as the gulab jamun. It was all amazing. My daughter and I were visiting Orlando for a volleyball tournament and decided to eat at Curry Mantra on our night of arrival. It was conveniently within walking distance of our hotel. The food was good and flavorful. I thought the portion sizes were small compared to other Indian restaurants for the prices. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb SaagWala. They were both good, but we enjoyed the Chicken more. The amount of rice was very light and when I asked for more the server made it sound like they were going to charge me more, so I passed. If you are looking for Indian and you are within walking distance I would give this place a shot, but I would not go out of my way. read more

I patronized your restaurant twice, one was a take-out and another was dine-in. The take-out was good and the food was good too, for the dine-in, most aspects of the experience were good. Over the two instances, I tried your lamb samosas, chicken biryani, and chicken korma. Starting with the food, they were all served fresh and correctly (especially the take-out). The chicken biryani for dine-in was so fresh, I had to wait for it to cool down so I could eat it. The samosas were prepared very fresh, it seemed like they were made to order seeing how there were little frayed ends of the pastry. The pastry was crispy and the meat/insides were flavorful. I thought the cilantro sauce was good and the (red) onion/chutney was especially delicious. It was preparation I've never had before. The tamarind I thought was very thin, I normally experience a tamarind sauce that is a little thicker, like the consistency of how the cilantro sauce is. They were all very good. The chicken biryani was also very flavorful. The meat was prepared tenderly without drying it out, I suspect that thigh meat was used(?). There were a couple fatty and cartridge pieces, which breast meat normally doesn't have. The rice was also cooked well, light and tender. The chicken korma was definitely the best out of everything. If the biryani was a 7 (out of 10), the korma was a 9.5, it was very delicious. The masala had a nice creamy touch. I asked the dishes to be prepared traditionally spicy, but the server seemed hesitant as if I didn't know what I was asking for (oh yes, I did). They both came smoking hot (for spicy), I was not disappointed. The portion sizes were ok for the price. I tend to have some stinginess, but this was in a touristy place. The bathroom was modeled reasonably and was not in bad shape (the contrast between bathroom and dining room is a theme I often mention in my reviews). The service was very good. My server was attentive to me and the food was brought out in prompt order. The dining area was clean and orderly, but there is one aspect that I would highly recommend changing. Don't make your dining area an extra place for storing your boxes of beer/wine, or other items (and hiding them behind blinds). The "hiding" was not done well and it looks cheesy that the dining place is not strictly for dining (but storing your extra stuff that you probably don't have the room to put elsewhere). Sorry if the unit you have at that location is not designed to accommodate adequate storage, but you are where you are and you did choose to put those boxes within sight. Just calling it out.... Any rate, the downsides did not take away from the best parts, which was the food and service. So anyone who likes indian food would have a good experience here. I do recommend. read more
